Raining Cats And Dogs

I had a tax appt. last week, so I went into town for awhile.  I always dread my tax appts. every year, mainly because I don't really understand all the tax jargon that is being said.  But I had a good agent who was helpful, and it turned out to be not such a bad appt. after all.  The first of the daffodils always show up at a little house down the street.  I made a big fruit salad with strawberries, oranges, bananas, and mango!  After my tax appt. I went to get a breakfast burrito.  Since it was Friday and no meat, I ordered a veggie one with eggs, potatoes, onions, bell peppers, and cheese.  Did I mention that we have a little place up here that makes the best breakfast burritos?  It was sunny all week, but we've had windy days and heavy rain over the weekend.  A batch of peanut butter chocolate chip cookies are in the oven, and a hot cup of coffee is ready as I share with you some pics I took while in town after my tax appt.  Glad it's over til next year.  ; )

I saw these for the kids' goody bags, and couldn't resist.  They love Disney.

It's raining cats and dogs, and I'm loving every minute of it.  Speaking of cats, here's Nel's cat, Luca, all snuggled up on the couch.

Happy Easter to you.

Dearest Sheri,
Well, like you I dread the Tax season as that tax jargon is not my cup of tea.
Imagine you had to live in The Netherlands and deal with it there...
But our appointment was on March 13 and I'd calculated most and put it on a memory stick.
We had such a lovely day with 80°F when I walked with my wheelchair/walker and then again the rain and mean wind arrived. Still we got that mean wind and a lot cooler temperatures!
Tomorrow Thunderstorms and again on Thursday...
But spring is awakening all around us and dogwoods and azaleas bloom.
Luca is a happy kitty and we can learn from our house–tigers how to deal with such kind of weather!
Your cookies looke great and will no doubt last that long.
Big hugs,
Mariette

Seems like you all jump from snow to spring really fast! We are at the end of our spring blooming season here in TN. Thanks for letting me know where you are locate. Such a far way from La Mesa for sure. I never really realized just how big Calif is....Loving the pics.

That sounds like an excellent way to celebrate (or recover from) your tax appointment! I love those little Minnies. Nel's cat is a beauty! Lots of lovely photos here, but you're making me hungry!

So glad to read that your tax appointment went well. I don't think anyone enjoys that appointment...I know like you am just glad when it is over. Seeing Nel's cate with his nose up in the air reminded me that my grandma who had kitties always said that when they slept with their nose in the air it was going to rain. Not sure she was right but possibly. Hope you have a blessed Easter Sheri. Hugs!

Hello, my friend. Please allow me a seat and a couple of cookies. I, too, love rainy days! They have a particular smell and feel that brings back memories of cozy days at home with my mom, watching black-and-white movies while the rain poured outside. I am glad your tax appointment is done! Yay! Now, have a cozy evening, my dear friend.

I can't say tax season is my favorite season either or anyone's else's. I love daffodils - you even caught a bee getting nectar. Wow.
Love the fruit salad and burrito - you eat healthy.
We are going to have heavy rain tonight and today has been very windy.
I never thought about putting chocolate chips in peanut butter cookies - that sounds good.
Who doesn't love Mickey?
Luca looks so cute.
I do wish the rain would wash away chaos. lol
Love, sandie

Im glad you had a nice day after you did your taxes. That is always stressful. I can't believe the hail that was dumped on the town south of me. It was crazy. We didn't get any so that was good. We had some rain, but not as much as my daughter had at her house! Have a great week Sheri!

I love rainy days every now and then as well, Sheri! It's always a cozy time to slow down and enjoy a respite. We've been making breakfast burritos here lately. Yours look yummy! The pretty conifer trees in your area are stunning! I just love them. Glad to hear the dreaded tax appointment is over and wasn't as bad as you were dreading. It feels good to get those things behind us. Love the sweet Minnies for the grands--she surely will bring smiles to the girls. Have a lovely week, my friend.

Daffodils look singing a spring song in chorus at a warm place.
Tax payment is similar to a fertilizer for the ground. Nice days!

Love your photos of the spruce, cedar and pine trees. That spruce is huge, it must have been there for years.

I am not a fan of tax appointments or tax day. We have used the same tax guy for about 45 years and honestly, he makes it pretty simple for me. He is super organized. Your breakfast burrito sounds good and what a big plus getting to see the daffodils. They bring a smile to so many faces with their bright yellow color. I have been craving cookies lately (I'm not usually a cookie eater) and after seeing yours, I just may have to whip us a batch this afternoon. We have had a good bit of rain and wind as well....ready for some sunshine. Happy Wednesday!

Happy Easter!

Rain is soothing once and a while. Not worrying about the water table getting low is a bonus.

It is such a relief to have that over for another year. I turned ours in to our accountant a few weeks ago and felt like celebrating even though I only do it for our personal taxes now, unlike all the decades I did it for our family business. That was such a headache. Your chocolate chip cookies look delicious as does your fruit salad.

Have a blessed Easter, dear Sheri,
Dewena
