There Are Days

Not much going on this week...

but here's a picture of Francesca playing dress up.  I laughed cause she put a mask on her bear too hehehe.

There are days when you'd just like to enter the world of a child's imagination and never come back. ~Robert Brault

You must try these, they're soooo good.

Join us next week to see all the fun from our Quarantine Halloween party.  I may even dress up.  ; )

Oh, October

 How are you doing friends?

October is a fun month, and here's a few photos of this and that.   I've moved a lot in the past few years and gave away quite a few things, but I can't seem to part with my delightful three witches.  They remind me of me and the girls, and I put them out every year.

Nel gave me this Paris brand tea to take home.  It is a black tea with a fruity taste.

I have been enjoying snuggling with this little one and watching Disney shows together.  It brings back memories of time spent with my own kids.

Nel taught me how to make cream cheese frosting.  It's so simple, and makes desserts taste even better.

I get so tired of cooking every day, and my son made a meatloaf one night.  He's such a good cook, and always experiments with spices.

My roses are coming along nicely in my rose pot, and it surprises me, as it's already October.

Oh October, how I delight in your whimsical month.  You give me fond memories of playful dress-up, pumpkin treats, and happy jack-o-lanterns. *Nel and Jess at 2 and 5.

Pumpkin Patch And Fall Decorating

I love Autumn, but don't have too many Fall decorations.  When I went to visit Nel, I noticed she had many Fall items, so I thought I'd share a few.

These silk flowers are on her table, and I love all the rich colors of Fall.

Her and Jess made several of these white paper mache pumpkins years ago.

I thought this wall hanging was unusual.  She loves clocks, and found it at an antique shop when she lived in Georgia.

A touch of orange in her garden.

There is a lavender bush in her back yard that's so pretty.

She uses this cute watering can to water her jasmine plants, which are in a row on the side of her house.  Jasmine is her favorite scent.

Francesca really enjoyed the pumpkin patch this year and had a fun time walking around and seeing all the different shapes and colors of pumpkins.  Her orange leggings crack me up.  ; )

And my favorite picture of her looking up to the sky with the look of awe on her precious face.

Did you get yourself a pumpkin yet?

Lady Of The Land

We had a small birthday celebration for Jess this weekend.  It was her 36th, and it was a nice day for all of us.

I haven't been shopping in a long time, so I gave Jess some things I had that I thought she'd like.  One gift was a pair of my earrings - they are Jess' favorite earrings, and she borrows them all the time for special occasions.  Jess loves all things miniature, so I gave her a locket that I've had since I was a little girl.  Inside the locket are miniature Rosary beads.  I'm not sure who gave them to me, or where I got them from, but they sure are special to me and have been with me for a long time.

Picked her a rose from my rose pot along with a poem...

The lily has a smooth stalk,

Will never hurt your hand;

But the rose upon her brier

Is lady of the land.

There's sweetness in an apple tree,

And profit in the corn;

But lady of all beauty

Is a rose upon a thorn.

When with moss and honey

She tips her bending brier,

And half unfolds her glowing heart,

She sets the world on fire.

~Christina Rosetti

Francesca is almost 3, but she wanted to go in Mia's high chair for awhile, so I put her in there.  We have to keep them small as long as we can, right?

There were Yummy chocolate cupcakes.

Love what this cup says.  What you can't see is the unicorn on the cup saying the words.

I thought Jess would be amused when I shared this picture of her with the purple wig when she was 16, twenty years ago.  ; )

It was really a nice day with family.
