Summer Peaches On A Country Road

It's time for me to take a drive in the country.

Stopped at an antique shop.

It's very dry now that summer is here.

The general store -
 love the horseshoe door handle.

There's nothing like summer peaches.

I always stop at the nursery
every time I come out this way.

And haunting it is.

Pretty birds
and other winged critters.

There is a fish pond in the
center of the nursery.

This BIG fish was staring at me.

Cheerful flowers,
almost like they are saying
"hello."

And children playing in the sun.

It's such a magical place.

These country roads get to me every time.

A Wonderful Surprise, Indeed

Jess and Brian
found out Friday if the baby
was a girl or boy.
We were so excited.
Scroll down a little to see.

It's a girl!

Jess and Brian are so happy.

Things I Don't Like

well, you all pretty much know the things that I love, roses, chocolate, country drives, coffee, nature, but I never really mentioned to you the things that I don't like.  Here are a few of them.  (forgive me if they are things you do or like, they just particularly don't float my boat).

*  when people tail gate (I don't get it, it's dangerous for the car in front and the car in back).

*  having to buy the paper bags at the grocery stores now.

*  when you spend good money on coffee or desserts and the coffee comes back watered down and the desserts are stale.

*  gossip - it's a cruel pastime and hurts others.  And most of the time, the stories get mixed up or aren't even true.

*  calling a business or company, and you're on hold for half an hour and then you get disconnected.

*  lying - just tell the truth, how bad can it be?

*  fish - unless it's lobster or prawns, I'm not a fish lover.

*  traffic.  I'd rather be driving the road less traveled.

*  snippy and insincere women.  Women should give women a good name and speak with grace and compassion.

*  reality shows.  Are they really reality?

*  dusting.  I know it has to be done, but not my favorite chore.

*  chard - a weird vegetable.

*  lizards.  They're creepy to me, and I see more of them during the hot summer months.

*  when someone is on their cell phone standing in the line right in front of you and having to hear their whole conversation.  No thank you.

*  jealousy - why would anyone want to be someone other than their original self?

*  judging harshly.  We all make mistakes.  There is no need for unfairness.

*  high gas prices.

Well, there you have it.  If I think of any more, I'll add them to the list.  And if you have any dislikes, please feel free to share.

love you,
      i really do.
: )

Bouquet Of Summer Flowers

ok, I love to shop.  But most of the time, I don't ever buy anything.  It has to really speak to me for me to buy it.  You know, that original item that's one of a kind.  When I saw this decorative plate at Pier 1 Imports (my favorite shop), that was just the kind of item that I'm talking about.  I just had to get it.

I love the head wrap she's wearing
with summer flowers.

It was on sale,
which made it even better.  ; )
She will look so cute
in my house these summer days.

So, do you love to shop,
or not so much?
I'd love to know.

Mini Trip

Jess and Nel are on a mini trip
to So. California.
They are visiting Disneyland,
Huntington Beach,
and all the fun places one stops at
on a journey to So Cal.

The castle is a favorite site
for Disney lovers.

This baby picture Nel is
standing next to is actually
Walt Disney as a baby!

Jess can't go on all the grand rides
this year cause she's pregnant,
so her and Nel went on
some of the kiddy rides instead haha.

New Orleans square
(my favorite place there)
I love eating at the cafes
and browsing through all the shops.

Jess wore this  'first visit'  button
on her belly all day for the baby.   : )

One of the many charming
attractions at Disney.

I hope they are having lots of fun
on their four-day mini trip.

Summer Bliss

Summertime...

and the livin's easy!

It's finally that magical time of year.

As a teacher, I work really (really) hard during the school year, then I get to enjoy two-and-a-half months of recovery and summer bliss.

As an end-of-year gift, my 2nd grade class made me this sweet diaper cake and a book full of suggested baby names and new-mom advice.

Don't you just love their advice?

This summer, I plan on preparing for the new baby

and taking a babymoon somewhere...we just don't know where yet!

Sending you some sweet summertime.

This And That

My girl statue had the sun's
reflection on it early
one morning.
It was so pretty,
that I had to take a pic.

Here she is with a redder rose
and redder lips.  ;)

flowers in my town

Thick lovely clouds on this
one particular day.

This tree is in my neighborhood.
The blossoms are huge.
Is it a magnolia, do you know?

A happy week to you,
