It's All About The Purple

Turning the page to March,

we've had some different weather - a combination of rain, sunshine, and snow!  It's so pretty, but I've had to drive in it, so kind of scary at the same time.

I can't describe how pretty the winters are up here when the snow falls.  My pink rain boots came in handy all winter.

All of February and so far in March I have been taking care of many things that are on the to-do list.  It has been a bit hectic lately, so the best remedy for that is Chinese take-out.

My neighbor always has the most unusual and interesting things on her front porch, and this is her latest.

It brings me such joy when I see the dear dove on my lawn, and she is coming around more frequently now that March is here.  This one is the Eurasian Collared Dove.

This little guy visited too.

Mia had a school field trip to the Science Center, and she got to touch a starfish!

The color during Lent is purple, and since I'm so fond of it, I use it as a main color for decorating for Easter.  I started with a framed photo from the lovely Kim at Daisy Cottage, and my purple doll from France.

My blog friend sent this to me, and I've loved it ever since.  There's so much detail in this piece.

The church is adorned in purple as well.  The grounds look very nice.

My son made a batch of these brownies.  They were incredible.

March always reminds me of my best friend, as this is her birthday month.  I will see her soon when I travel to my hometown for a fundraiser dinner.  Two carefree sixteen-year-olds; I'm the one standing.

Had a zoom chat this last weekend with the grandkids and caught up on their little lives.  Mia showed me her new cat toy with the big eyes, and we all laughed, and later on Francesca stepped outside in the rain and came back and showed me her wet hair.

Leftover pizza, and I added some more cheese when I heated it up.

Can you tell I love Italian?

I'm making goody bags for the kids, and filling them with small things.  And I had to get this bunny for baby Charlotte cause I love the color mint, and he was soooo soft.

May you have colorful March days.

Dearest Sheri,
Driving in snow is no fun... I've done that years, back in The Netherlands and don't long for that.
We watch our mourning doves every morning during breakfast from our bay window area.
What you labeled as: 'This little guy visited too' looks like the Northern Flicker Woodpecker. They are beautiful and we have the Common Flicker here visiting us.
Special for Mia to touch a starfish!
Purple and lilac are my favorite colors and I wear them. Comes in handy for being the lay reader at Church and being properly dressed in the seasonal color.
Hugs,
Mariette

As I lay here, sick I find your post calming. Lavender is my favorite color - a cousin of purple. I really like that meme about the children - staying in their world rather than pulling them into ours too soon.

Oh, my goodness - a long reply here.
We had no snow this year - it looked like you did have snow - but not too much. I do agree driving on it is hard though.
The snow was very pretty and with your pink boots.
I haven't gotten Chinese takeout but that is a good idea.
The hummingbird chimes were pretty and the mourning doves too. I got a bird feeder for my birthday, and I have yet to get a bird - I am so sad.
Did Mia like touching the starfish?
I love the little aqua bunny.
I also love the color purple.
You have a very nice purple display, and that doll is so fancy with her leg pantaloons.
The church looked very pretty decked out in purple for Lent too.
And what Zen said is true - let them be kids.
So, you were a cheerleader. Hope you have fun with your friend when you go!
Love, Sandie.

I love all the sprintime touches on your home -- and the church is lovely, too. Yes, you have to be careful with weather during this season -- it's so changeable. But your photos are just beautiful. I love seeing the birds and all the loveliest little touches you've put out to welcome spring! Now, let's brin git on all the way!

There is never too much cheese on the pizza, your pizza looks delicious.

Your snow is lovely, Sheri. Though driving in it can be tricky. Your church is decorated beautifully for the season of Christ's Resurrection. I love hearing of your special times with your darling grands. The sweet bunny you have for Charlotte is so cute. I'm sure she will love it! And sweet goodies for Mia and Francesca I'm sure will be loved. I always enjoy seeing what you have been doing, my friend. Enjoy your Italian food. It's a favorite of mine as well. Have a happy week!

Sheri,
I am not much for driving in the snow. I am glad we do not have any here. I would stay home. I am glad you are navagating it well though. You and your family always make the best treats. The brownies look so yummy. I am glad Mia got to touch the starfish. That must have been really fun. They are very cool! Purple is a great color! I love it too! Enjoy your week!

Those mountains of yours really do hold on to the snow! We are sliding slowly into spring. Oh wait, maybe not so slow. We had daffodils in full bloom in mid Feb. In the past few days I have watched more daffodils blooming, along with Forsythia bushes, Magnolia trees, Bradford pears in bloom and Redbuds.....today, rain and temps dropped some. But boy, you guys have some really beautiful snow. I love it. I love the Lady in Purple also.....and lets not mention that food. I am trying to back off the sugar and bread thing. Over the past yr and so many months, being sick, having surgeries and moving, I have not been eating the best, not even good.

The color purple is such a deep rich color and it is so special during the Easter Season. Thank you for the reminders of how special this color is. the brownies look so good..brownies are a favorite around here. Enjoy your Blessings this week

Very lovely post, Sheri. Your decorations are darling. I especially love the dolly. You know how much I love dolls. I had been hearing about very bad weather in Northern California but I don't think it got to your place, thank heavens. That is so sweet you are preparing little gifties for Easter for the grands. Great idea, Sheri. Hope you have a good week. Stay warm and cozy. Oh! Those brownies look decadent! Hugs. Susan

I love your attention to detail in capturing the beauty of everyday moments—from the fluttering birds to the joy of sharing leftover pizza with added cheese.
Purple is my favourite color too!
Love the cute photo of you and your friends.

Hugs and blessings, Sheri 🌹

HI....back again. I looked it up....wow, calif is big. You are a whole 10 hours away from my son in La Mesa. Like I told my son, Cory, most people think of Calif as always sunny and bright, and warm, with no snow. It is nice to see the difference in the same state. I love your pics.

Young children have great talent to enjoy nature and give happiness to those around them.
After pink cherry blossoms were in full bloom, it snowed unexpectedly here.
Spring weather changes extremely. Take care.

First of all Sheri, I love your pink rain boots! I would love walking in the snow with those on my feet. Your take-out looks great, as do the other yummies. I love your neighbor’s glass hummingbirds. So nice to see your mourning doves and your flicker(?) Such fun for Mia, I remember our trips to the San Diego’s Sea World with the school trips many, many years ago. Such treasures you have to decorate for Easter, purple is such a beautiful color, and your decorations are darling! All wonderful photographs and I love every detail, every one :) That’s a great photo of you with your friend, and how neat that you will be seeing her soon. Your grandkids are going to love their goody bag, and that is such a sweet bunny. Thank you for another wonderful share and many blessings in the month of March for you and for your sweet family.

Oh Sheri, that little bunny is so perfect for a baby, so pretty and soft. I love it that you remind me every year that Purple is the colour for Lent, and your displays are beautiful. I have some bunnies put about, but need to get me more purple! A snow scene is always beautiful, and your area looks wonderful with the tall trees festooned in white. I do not envy you driving in it though. What a great photo of you with your friend, back in the day. You sure look athletic! Happy March Sheri.
