Traveling Teddy Takes A Snow Trip

We're already in the middle of March - this month seemed to go by quickly.  First, I want to tell you that I was pleased to hear that my area made the list of The most beautiful places in California!

We had another snowfall, but it was a light one, just enough to grace the lawn with white.

Jess and Nel take their bear, traveling teddy, whenever they go on trips.  Jess and family took a drive to the lake up in the mountains, and it was Charlotte's first time in the snow!

I am having a fun time making the goody bags for the kids.  Whenever I see something they'd like, I add it to the bag, and it's filling up.  They are not for Easter, just a small gift for when I see them soon.

Uncle B. has even contributed, and bought a few treats for his nieces.

I caught a lively leprechaun

With stubble on his face.

He promised loads of buried gold

And led me to the place.

But when I let him loose to dig,

He leaped and led a chase.

That lively laughing leprechaun

Had left without a trace!

~Betsy Franco

Mia had the idea to make  shamrock cookies.  While they were waiting for them to cool, a leprechaun came through the kitchen and sprinkled some gold!

It's been spring-like weather all week, and the sun shone down on the creek making the water glisten.  It was a very windy day when I visited.  A few pictures of the creek and town.

Mount Shasta is still snow-capped in March.  Because it is said to have unusual energy fields, some think it is very mysterious, and others have ranked it as one of the world's seven sacred mountains.

I made more pasta, but this time I sauteed some shrimp with butter, and poured it over the sauce.  It was delicious.

Do you love bagels and cream cheese as much as I do?  It's cinnamon raisin today.

Have you tried the Mint Oreos?  They're pretty good.

I bought some sandals on-line for the fundraiser dinner coming up.  They will go well with all my clothes this Spring.

And at Nel's house, a simple and sweet Easter display.  The book page that is open is actually a poem about Easter.

My neighbor works so hard out in her yard, and like me, she doesn't like overgrown bushes and often grooms her area, raking and piling, and clearing things out.  Her dog is accompanying her today.  He's a pretty gentle dog.

Oh my goodness, right after that, a horse passed my house, what a sight it was.  I've never seen a horse walking through the neighborhood!

Charlotte is getting so big. Amazing how fast they grow.
The sandals are pretty. I need some new summer clothes this year! Love the dog - he looks like a lover but can be protective if need be. I like the horse walking down the street. If the dog can be walked, why not the horse?
I like how you’re collecting goodies for the grands. Smart idea and shows they are in your thoughts always. I haven’t tried the mint Oreos but if they taste anything like Thin Mints count me in! Have a beautiful week, Sherri. and enjoy the weather until the next storm hits.

Oh Sheri I can just imagine what is going into your bags for the girls. Charlotte is really growing. Those shamrock cookies really were green and the gold just set them off perfectly. I have never put shrimp in my spaghetti...just may have to give this one a try. Your last pic of Easter has me smiling. It is early this year and I am glad! Hugs!

Dearest Sheri,
You are showing some lovely little joys of our daily life!
Guess you are lucky for being able to eat everything you want without any serious health issues.
Your sandals would be too flat for me for walking comfortable and I always prefer leather.
Indeed, hard to believe that soon it will be Easter 2024!
Hugs and enjoy your days,
Mariette

The kiddos are adorable and it looks like Mia has such a sweet little personality. Oh goodness...all of these photos are so good. I had to look up mount Shasta to see the location of it. Way up in Northern Cali. That area is about 8 hours from where my grandson lives. I know the kids will love the bags that you are filling up with surprises. This is a great idea. I think that anytime you can capture a hummingbird, you have accomplished something and your picture is very good. Love the photo of the cross and the purple drape...always touches my heart. Hope you have a delightful week.... hugs to you

Is this last photo your fence? What fun! SO much to love here today! The water looks like diamonds are sprinkled on it. And the cookies are sprinkled with gold dust. Too cute to eat! LOVE the sandals!! I love Nel's rabbit, and have actually been looking for one like it myself. Wonderful shot of the hovering Hummingbird! Yes, the mint Oreos are good. I love anything with mint. Those bags are adorable, and I think the bag itself is an awesome gift!!

Ginny, No, that's not my fence; it's just in back of a decorated wagon coming into town. I have white fencing all around my yard.

Darling happy post full of all of the best things in life, Sheri! Horse walking in your neighborhood is so special. It's been a long time since I've seen one in ours. Mia and Charlotte are darling. How nice they visited the snow dusted area. Mt Shasta is gorgeous! I love snow capped mountains. Your shrimp dish sounds so good. We bought shrimp at the market today and I'm sure we would like the way you served yours. And those cute sandals are darling, Sheri. The hummingbird photo gave me a big smile. It will be a while before one visits here. Enjoy a lovely week, my friend!

Cute sandals. I just told myself today I need some new sandals for summer. Not sure I would be brave to buy online.

I don't know specifically where you live, but if it is anywhere near Mount Shasta, you are in one of my favorite places in California!

You do l ive in such a beautiful area! We have had little bits of snow here too, but it is all moisture that we need. Mount Shasta is just amazingly beautiful, what a sight to be able to see it in the distance! We have horses in the neighborhood quite often here, but usually people ride them! Your daughters and grandchildren are so special, and what a sweet surprise you are preparing for them! So fun to be a blessing to them! Enjoy the blooms and joys of spring! Much love to you :)

You find the sweetest things to photograph, Sheri! I understand why you loved the sight of a horse walking down the street. It is a rare sight today. Sometimes a gentleman down the street brings his carriage out drawn by two horses and I just adore seeing them. I would love to have seen little Charlotte's face at her first glimpse of snow!

Sheri, you will look so elegant in that beautiful sandal!

Are my eyes deceiving me? You have a hummingbird visit a snow covered feeder?

How wonderful and congrats on making the beautiful places in California list. The snow looks real pretty. A red-letter day for Charlotte's with her first snow, and I see Jess and Nel are enjoying it too. Sweet idea to take Traveling Teddy on family trips. Love the idea of doing the goody bags. You sure did catch a cute leprechaun. I liked those shamrock cookies. The pasta with shrimp sounded so good! I do love bagels and cream cheese. I usually go for the sesame one but yours sounds delicious. Love the sparkly sandals, those are going to look very elegant. Nel’s Easter display is very nice and I like the poem being on display. My house is very boring right now, though I do have a bunny holding a carrot staring at me as I type. I would love seeing your neighbor’s dog and the horse. I had fun looking at all these super photos. Have a great week Sheri, and in case I don’t get back to you before, Happy Easter!
