Every now and then, she would stop and untangle the dog's leash from her walker.
I thought to myself, "what is her story?" She must have had many joys in life, but possibly many sorrows as well. She must have seen a lot in all her years. She was beautiful. And she made me appreciate the world just by being in it.
When I was driving home, this song came on, and I used to love it back in the 80's.
To the old,
and the young,

and don't let anyone tell you different.

i bet she has an interesting story. I've always loved listening to stories the older people told. They lived through and saw so much in their life. Love the song. It is one of my favorites as well. Hope you have a nice weekend. Love, xo

I love this. Everyone has a story and of course we'll never know them all -- but you're right -- she's beautiful. And jolly good on her, taking her dog walker-free. Love it.

So true. That is one thing I love about being at the VA center. All the stories of the old guys (I have yet to have an older woman vet). Some have happy stories, some have sad stories, but they all have stories...and most just need someone to listen to them. xo Diana

Oh, Sheri, this is so touching. This woman looks just like my Mom in her older years. When my Dad was diagnosed with Alzheimer's she found herself having to manage many things on her own. They were always inseparable and she was very sheltered in many ways, so in her final years she was forced to become independent and very brave. I love this post. Old age is not for sissies. IT is aleays interesting to think about which story of life someone has. I think about sometimes if I see old people. The happiness , bad times .....so many things happen in a lifetime.

We learn so much when we examine the stages of a person's life, a person's personal walk. We are all on the same path, and it's wisdom that teaches the young that one day, they too will take the sweet walk, slow down and watch the world go by.

That lady has a can do attitude, with her walker and her dog, and just keeping on keeping on.
The big trees seem to welcome all the people, young and old, taking a walk under them. Walker's each healthy step might bring them the feeling something like the great grace.

So sweet. We all have stories, don't we? The funny thing is the older we are the more we have, but fewer people want to hear them.
