It was a sunny week. We are expected to get more snow soon, but for now, I enjoyed the warmth of the sun most of the week.
You may have heard that California had an earthquake. It was a 7.0, but it was about 4 hours from my area. Thank you to those who checked in on me. I wanted to do something festive last week, so I went into town and had a shopping day! What better place to go than to A's home shop where it is Christmas all year 'round.
The next stop was K's Boutique. She was having a Christmas sale, 40% off on all sweaters. I was so glad, cause I wanted to get another sweater like the pink one I have, only in grey.
I get one of these chocolate bars every Christmas because the chocolate really is tasty.
I found this glass plaque when I was out.
"You are the light of the world. A town built on a hill cannot be hidden. Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in Heaven." ~Matthew 5:14
My next stop was to drive by the church. I wanted to see if there was any Christmas decorations out. There was a pretty flower arrangement sitting next to St. Francis.
I drove through and got some lunch. Now, this isn't just any corn dog. It's a jumbo crispy honey corn dog. They are the best I've ever had.
It is a tradition in our family to make Russian tea cookies every Christmas. My son made a batch, and he added too much butter, so they flattened, but were still so good.
Have to put my elves out every year. They just make me happy.
After a Chinese take-out of kung pao chicken, shrimp and cream cheese won tons, and foiled wrapped chicken, I loved what my fortune cookie said.
Charlotte is almost walking now, and her big sister always looks out for her.
I am a collector of snow globes, and when I noticed one of my snow globes was leaking, I had to toss it. It was one that Jess gave me years ago, and a favorite of mine. I still have three.
Found this box last year, and loved it.
I watched the Christmas movie, Haul Out the Holly. It was a silly and lighthearted movie. Lacey Chabert is one of my favorite actresses during the holiday season.
Santa came early this year.....
Meet Jax! He's an 8 month old Australian Shepherd mix. Nel rescued him from the shelter. He's a super sweet pup, but definitely a little fearful of the world, being out on the streets. Hopefully, he'll start feeling more and more secure as time goes on. They already love him, and he's really taken to Mia.
And since it was sunny out, I wanted to get some fresh air and visited the creek. Mount Shasta has an abundance of snow on it, and when I look up at our mountain, I sometimes feel it is just as pretty. The rain has filled the area, and that was so good to see.

Good morning Sheri. Jax is adorable and I am so happy that he has a great home. I know the girls are going to love having him. My son-in-law called us to tell us about the earthquake and to let us know that everything was fine where he is at. That is a pretty good size quake. Your gray sweater is so pretty and can be worn with dress slacks or jeans...this was certainly a great purchase. Look at that beautiful snow on the mountain top..love it!! all of the photos are so good and that cow photo is so cute. Sounds like you had a sweet day out doing some shopping. Shopping always makes me happy. lol. Happy Monday,...Christmas is just around the corner...
Oh, what a wonderful day out. It looks like loads of fun -- and very productive, too. Love that sweater. Glad you were OK in the quake and I'm loving that sweet Jax dog! It's a darling photo!
the mountain is gorgeous! And I do love this sweater. If they were sold here, I would buy one! What cool pics you got of the cows, munching away in the sun. I had an old snow globe where the water inside turned yellow. Have you ever had that happen? It was very old though, maybe 20 years. Cute puppy, reminds me of the one I had.
Beautiful photo of the mountain. I have never eaten a corn dog. The sweater is super cute. Sorry to hear about the snow globes. The photo of the laughing girls is adorable.
Good afternoon - you have sun shining through your trees and here it is a very misty and dark day. Very unusual here. I heard about the earthquake that was a big one - I am happy you were okay.
I loved your pink sweater and grey sweater. The church monument was decorated nicely.
When I was a little girl they had a Russell Stover Store - the best chocolate I think - and my mom would take us once a week to get a piece.
That was a HUGE corndog! I do know what the Russian Cookies are - they looked good.
I watched Haul Out The Holly too - she is one of my favorites.
Mt. Shasta is full of snow! My goodness.
Love your elf - but I really love that cow - how close does it live to you?
Really nice post.
What beautiful weather you are having Sheri! So glad the quake didn't bother you. Your photos are so nice of your happenings. I love the sweet pup Nel adopted for her family. Your food always looks great and that corndog must be amazing! I imagine your son's cookies are delicious with more butter. Have a wonderful week enjoying the beauty that surrounds you!
Beautiful photos! I really love the Christmas season :)

The pictures of your grandchildren are wonderful. The pictures radiate so much love and warmth.
This is another very nice post today. xoxox
I thought I already commented! Oh me and my foggy brain!
So much to comment on. It’s always a joy to see the grandchildren! Charlotte is getting so big. It’s hard to believe! Such a happy child. Congratulations to Mia and her new BF in Jax.
I always enjoy seeing the snow on the mountains. We’ve had some sunny weather and some of the snow has started to melt but have no fear - Jack Frost is near! Later this week we’ll get rain, and you all in the mountains will get more snow! ❄️
Love love love, the cow. I saw the cutest video of a young lady sitting on the ground and her cow that she raised since birth, came over to her and plopped next to her and rolled around like a big dog. She stroked and kissed the cow and it was loving her attention. It made me tear up - I always wanted to kiss cows. Sweet video.
Since I raised 3 sons, we never watched the Christmas chick flicks - my husband on the other hand raised two daughters! So he watched them with them. So I have watched a few so far with him - I don’t have the Hallmark channel but Netflix has some movies. Not necessarily hallmark. Hey, it’s Christmas and time to embrace a little romance and Christmas fantasy so I have enjoyed the ones I’ve seen so far.
Enjoyed all the photos like always. Have a blessed week.
Lindas fotos. si la navidad se acerca. Me gustaron las fotos de tu perro y me dio ganas de las galletas. Te mando un beso.
Hello Dear,
I know that Jax will be so happy.. with our Ernie a rescue dog is just something very special!!
I know this will be the case with Jax too.
And your cow photos are great Sheri, I love them. She almost looks to be smiling.
Carla
What a wonderful Christmas season you are having. Love a good corn dog. That sweater is so cute, I would like that too. A new puppy, how wonderful!!! That actress seems to be in a lot of the Hallmark movies this season. I like watching them too.
A lot going on at your house baking and new puppies.
I baked cookies yesterday and will decorate some if them with my grand this weekend.
We have had early snow but sadly it is raining today.
Cathy
Me gusta esa hermosa luz, que se filtra entre los árboles, en las primeras fotografías.
Haz hecho bien en aprovechar esa gran rebaja.
Ah Jax looks like a special pooch...Mia has a new "best friend"...Lacey Chabert is one of my favorite actresses as well...love your scripture from Matthew. Was thinking about posting about light and sharing some special verses that mean so much to me and this one for sure is a favorite. As always Sheri enjoy your words and photos. Sorry about your Christmas globe - have had to toss a few of my treasures because they have gotten broken and understand how it is to miss them. Have a beautiful day friend and eat a piece of that special chocolate and be sure to wear that new gray sweater - Hugs!
Oh how fun to meet Jax. He looks adorable. Looks like you had a fun time shopping and enjoying the season and those photos of the mountains are spectacular. How lucky you are that your son and been doing some baking. Looks good. Enjoy.
Adorable post as ever...Always a pleasure stopping by! Happy Advent.
Whoa that is a little too close for an earthquake! I've never felt one before, but I do have some experience with tornados. :) Jax is so cute...I imagine he will be loved back to a life he deserves soon, if not already. I haven't seen this Christmas movie yet, but I do love Lacey Chabert..she is one of my favorites.
I seldom see the news and did not know about the earthquake till later...I am glad you suffered no ill effects from it. I love that picture of the girls...that is just precious. I would want one to hang on the wall. Such joy in their faces. I hope we hear more as time goes on about how Jax is doing...will be so good for he and the girls to grow up together.
I'm so glad to hear that the earthquake wasn't in your area and that you're doing well. It must have been a joy to visit A’s home shop, especially with the Christmas spirit year-round! Shopping for that perfect sweater and finding a sweet chocolate treat sounds like the perfect way to get into the holiday mood.
The glass plaque you found is such a beautiful reminder of light and goodness, and it's wonderful that you were inspired by such a meaningful scripture. It seems like the simple moments of the season—like driving by the church and enjoying a jumbo crispy honey corn dog—are what make this time of year so special.
Wishing you continued moments of warmth and joy as you prepare for the coming snow and festivities!
I am sure that Jax will become more relaxed and comfortable as time goes on. He looks like he has a lot of energy!
Lacey is in about every Christmas movie that we watch, the actors, same plots with small variations. Those Russian cookies are one of my favorites. Barb made some last week and they too did not rise and ended up flat. Still tasty though!
I love contrails, too!
What a lovely post. The glass plaque is my favourite. I just love that grey star jumper too. Wishing you a lovely holiday season. I also love snow globes. <3

A super post and I thank you so much for sharing it. Every photo is a joy. I remember the earthquakes when we lived in north and south California. They were quite startling. I'm glad they were nowhere near you. Sweet photos of Jax, I'm sure he will not be as fearful once he has settled and sees all the gentle love being sent his way. This happened to our pup who had been abused before we rescued her. She settled down also and was our joy for over 15 years. Always a pleasure to visit Sheri. Sweet blessings to all of you.
