Happy New Year! Well, I do hope this year is a splendid one. I rang in the new year 🔔🔔 by going out to lunch at the Mexican restaurant with my brother-in-law. It is a fun and festive place for both of us to catch up and visit. He first stopped by the house and brought over some beef that he got from a relative's cattle ranch, and he wanted to share some. Meat is so expensive at the stores, and I was grateful. He also brought me some more homemade chili. I first made him a cup of coffee and some homemade sugar cookies with icing and red sprinkles, and after a while we went over to the restaurant.
Well, I am always mentioning my in-laws to you, so I thought I would share a little about them. There are three sisters and six brothers, and I love them all. But you know I have my favorites.😉 I've known all of them since I was 16.
I am close to them all, but one of my favorites lives in Seattle and calls and checks up on me from time to time. And three others live close by, with one being another favorite which I see often, and that has always stayed in touch with my family.
I have been enjoying the holiday tea that Nel gave me.
Jess reminded me that the new season of Virgin River is out, season 6, so I've been watching that. It's been a very entertaining season. Jess takes her time to watch these episodes, but I breeze through them, and am almost finished with the season. Some flashback photos of Mel's parents,
and her real dad she never knew.
There were 8 doves that landed on my lawn and came to visit me. It was a sight for sure.
I'll show you the Harry Potter nook next time that Nel made for Mia using one of the small closets at her house.
Have a sparkly new year. I have never made resolutions. Too much pressure to keep up with, so I will sincerely just be the best version of me. 😚

That tea towel and mug/tea look great. I'm so glad yu are stil close to your in-laws. That one BIL is great and nice he is so close. Sending all good wishes for a happy new year!
I don’t do resolutions either. I have never been able to keep them so I just stopped. I’m watching Virgin River now. My husband didn’t care for it so I watch it when he goes out or takes a nap. It’s fun when they mention local areas and a few episodes ago, they even mentioned Redding! Even though it’s filmed in British Columbia!
The doves are so sweet - since we’ve taken up the bird feeders due to rats, they aren’t visiting anymore which saddens me but my husband assured me once we re- introduce the feeders and are certain the rat problem is gone, they’ll be back.
Happy New Year! I’m excited to see what God has in store for us.
How nice your BIL brought you meat and chili. What kind of meat? And then to go out to Mexican - I like Mexican too. Gee your husband came from a huge family, and I am glad you stay in touch with some.
You are beautiful!
So, what does Holiday tea taste like?
The doves are pretty!
I wish you a Happy New Year!
We are watching Virgin River - and almost to the wedding. I see there her dad did play at the wedding. Hope the wedding takes place. Wonder what the mystery is with the dad?
Hello Sheri, oh I just love what you shared here at the end of your post.
"I will sincerely just be the best version of me."
Me too.
Happy New Year!

Such beautiful doves...I love listening to them. Virgin River is one of my favorites. I haven't started watching the new season yet, but will soon. I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas and will enjoy a wonderful New Year. Can't believe it is going to be 2025 tomorrow. our weather is perfect today and it feels so good just to step outside...
You got good shots of the doves. Are they Collared Doves? I like the big chess set; is this the Harry Potter Nook? So cool that you keep in touch with your in-laws!!
Happy New year!!
Happy New Year to you dear Sheri! I love Mexican food and that's lovely that you and your brother-in-law enjoyed some time together! You are so right about meat prices! How nice he shared with you! He sounds like a great family member and friend. Your tea looks delicious. I haven't tried that one, though I do love Harney and Son teas. Love seeing your sweet doves! Have a great evening!
Happy new year everyone!
Have a nice year Sheri!!
May it be a year with more creativity, mindfulness and more reading.
A year of Health, Peace, Love and Joy!
Happy New Year my dear friend Sheri! Love your sweet posts!
The Harry Potter room is magical.
Good health and happiness in the new year!
No more resolutions for me, either Sheri. The beautiful doves are a great sign, hoping they bring peace for 2025. What great in-laws you have, and how nice to celebrate at the Mexican Restaurant. Happy New year, and I hope it is a great one for you.
