Photo Album Project

While others do their deep cleaning in the early months of the year, I always do my cleaning and organizing with the Autumn season.  It gets dusty up here in the mountains, and the back porch area and laundry room seem to get the most dust.  I bought another bin for my photo albums - they were all in one bin and overflowing, so I separated them and organized them in two bins.  It was a big project, cause I have about 25 albums, but they are easier to get to now.  Aahh, my treasured pictures.....I can't lose them on the internet, and no one can take them away.  They are mine to keep.  I cherish these pictures of my young children growing up and the happenings of their life during that time.  I went through some of the albums while I was rearranging them, and here are a few of my favorites.

I had another dentist appt. last week, with full ex-rays.  I'm thankful no cavities, and I have to give my parents some credit, as I've read one time that genes can play a significant role in dental health.  I still have to replace a crown, and then I'm done with dental for a while.

I had a plumber come by last week to fix the dryer hook-up and make sure it was set up properly.  What I thought would be a short visit, turned out to be a six hour day, and it was not fun.  But he's a good plumber, and did a great job making sure all was tightly fastened and secure.  There was a lot of drilling involved.

I saw this tree with brilliant color by the post office in my town.

"Autumn went out walking

And with a brush in hand

She draped the trees in red and gold

And dressed the changing land

She painted leaf and garden

And made the cold winds blow

'Till all the world lay steeped within

Her bright October glow."

~Laura Jawarski

Jess made grandma's delicious enchiladas.

My son went to the city last week, and had a great time.  He brought me some mince pies from World Market.  I think one either loves mince pies or strongly dislikes them, and I've always loved these traditional pies made with dried fruits and spices.

He also picked up a book from Barnes and Noble, Let's Eat Paris!  He made some Parisian crepes, and they were beyond delicious.

This guy was pecking at my tree.  He's such a pretty fellow, but it looked like his head was blotchy, not the usual bright red; I wondered if he was alright, or maybe he's just in the molting period?

Little miss Charlotte is getting into the Harry Potter nook.

Go, Charlotte, go!

I drove through to get a taco, and when I got my order, this note was in my bag.

And a picture for my Jess for her 40th birthday coming up.  That's a big one.

Happy October!

I'm first to comment!
Let's see - a lot today.
I think that is a good idea to clean in fall. Going into the season where you will close up and lock up for a while.
You should take a photo of your books - photo books - hard for me to imagine what you did exactly. 25 albums are a lot of work.
Those are such cute photos - the girls - dress up - cheerleading - dance - Christmas - all the kids together. Sweet. Was that your dad?
What did the plumber do for six hours?
Only one crown left - boy do I understand.
Happy birthday Jess - those enchiladas look good.
As well as the French crepes your son made! Yummy.
Is there meat in mince meat pies?
Maybe the woodpecker is an old one balding - lol. Hope it is not serious.
And lastly I love that Flamingo CAR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Ah Sheri the photos of your kids is super. You are so right - no one can take away those special pictures. I am not a fan of mince meat but my hubby really loves it. Was thinking that the wood pecker may be a a fledgling and is just starting to get red in his head. Ours remain black for a while when they are first born. Looks strange but then they turn red over time. Well take care friend and don't work too hard with all that fall cleaning. Hugs!

Hey Sheri...That is an adorable flamingo!! My mom always made a mince pie for Thanksgiving. She and I were the only ones that liked it. A little goes a long way though. Goodness...those enchiladas look so good...I just may have to make some this week. Sam and I both love Mexican food. We have been working on having all of our photos printed. I just don't trust technology with my most valuable memories. I know it was a job for you, but now you are organized and can just enjoy the albums. Fall cleaning is a great idea. I mean, after a hot summer, and all the stuff we collect, this would be a great thing to do. Charlotte is enjoying herself. You have some great pictures of the woodpecker. They can sure damage a tree, but they are fun to watch. Enjoy those beautiful trees that are truly showing out. hugs to you

The food you have featured looks delicious Sheri! Those crepes your son made surely look authentic as do the enchiladas. Charlotte looks so adorable in the Harry Potter nook--how fun. And your photos are priceless! Fall is already painting your trees--so exciting. I enjoyed the poem as well. The flamingo VW is a hoot. Happy early birthday to Jess! Have a great week, my friend.

The bird is likely molting, and also not in his breeding colors anymore. From spring to fall, a bird can look so different! The crepes are gorgeous! I have never made any, but keep meaning to. Wonderful photos of memories. I love how they are all wearing denim in the first one. The tree is gorgeous, and I love the poem!
