The Sculpture Park

Continuing with Jess' visit, we had many outings on her five-day stay, and one of those days we drove over to the Sculpture Park to see the giant whimsical characters.  The sculptures are created from discarded scrap materials, and the artists, two brothers, shapes them into life.  Among them were the Tin Man, the bright green Inchworm, the Cat, the Aliens and their UFO, and my favorite, the Giraffe.  This sculpture was grand, and you can see how tall it was with Francesca standing next to it.  So, here's some of the delightful sculptures we saw on the warm Summer day.

When we got home, I made a big pot of spaghetti and salad, and Jess shared the bread she bought, which was so good that it went in a day.  We also had a glass of wine that night after dinner.  I've had these blue wine glasses forever.  They look gypsy to me.

Jess fixed my Netflix on the big screen, so we saw lots of shows when she was here.  She hadn't seen the Virgin River Christmas episodes, so we enjoyed watching them.  Yes, I sometimes watch Christmas shows in the Summer.  ; )

My neighbors keep telling me to go see the sculptures, so now I can tell them I did!  I'd love to hear which sculpture was your favorite.

They’re all very creative in their own unique way but I do like the giraffe the best. They sure were big! I like when artists use scraps to recycle into a sculpture. That takes skill as well as a creative imagination.

Hello! That is an exciting place to visit!!! And what is better than a pot of spaghetti with the people you love! I love to watch Christmas and Halloween movies in the summer. : )

Wow, they are amazing, and so huge! I think my favorite is the giraffe, too. Did one person make all of them, or is it different artists?

So there is actually a place called Sculpture Park - lol - I can see why. It is hard to pick, but 1 is the giraffe, 2 caterpillar, and 3 is that a cat or mouse? They were all very cute.
The photo of the 3 girls was so sweet.
I love the blue wine glasses - they look so fragile.
Sweet your daughter got Netflix going for you.
I love to watch Christmas in July - because you can pretend that you are in snow - as it is soooooooooo hot here.
Nice post - I know you had a terrific time.

the whimsical characters are very cute. I'll bet your granddaughter really had a good time. We have a place called grounds of sculpture with more artistic pieces some by famous artists.

How beautiful and interesting these sculptures are. And I'm glad that Francesca could show us just how tall these things are. They are all my favorites!! How neat that these are all made out of scrape materials. All it takes is an imagination. I too love watching the Christmas movies any time of the year. I know you had a fantastic week and now we are getting to enjoy some of the fun you all had through your post...

The scupture park is cool. I have driven by but never stopped. I like the giant flying saucer. Hallmark has Christmas shows now and we have been watching a few of them. It helps us feel cooler! It was smoking hot here the last few days. I am thinking of fall, But not ready to go back to work. Enjoy your week Sheri!

Călătorie grozavă, îmi plac foarte mult sculpturile. Omul de tinichea pare să fie din Oz. Cel mai mult îmi place de el și de girafă. Vă doresc zile bune Sheri.
