Francesca In Hawaii

Jess just took an unexpected trip to Maui, which wasn't planned at all, so she had only a couple days to get things ready.  Brian doesn't fly, but he made this trip with Jess, which surprised and pleased us all.  Francesca made her first trip to Hawaii at 4 and a half years old.  They had a great time seeing the sites - Brian went snorkeling, they saw the tropical birds just outside their hotel, they drank mai tais, had delicious food, and were fascinated with the fan trees, which Jess calls them.  They visited the area of the giant turtles - I saw these huge turtles on a trip to Maui when I was in my 40's, and they are amazing.  Jess sent me a file of photos from her trip, but there were so many, so I chose my favorites to share with you.  Once again, I won't flood you with pictures of the family, but more of this beautiful place called Maui.

On their way home.  Jess' headphones were too big for Francesca, so she placed a monkey between to secure them on her.  ; )

For four days, Francesca was a little Hawaiian girl.

Wow! What a great idea about the monkey! Do you know what this large tree art thing is, pic #7? It is so pretty and unusual? The bird is stunning!

Beautiful Maui. I would not guess there would be a Schwarz store there. Interesting. It looks quite peaceful there and serene. I loved the photos. What is that tree called it is gorgeous. So how did they get to Hawaii - on a trip!!!!!!!!!? The photo of the sun - what was the beam coming through it. I would have loved to see the turtles. And I didn't recognize that bird. Francesca is a lucky and blessed girl - I wonder if she will remember this in her older age?

What a wonderful trip! I went to Hawaii when I was 13. I have always wanted to go back, but probably won't. It is so beautiful there. One thing that I remember was the smell. The air was so filled with flowers and plants scents. I always loved that trip. I am so glad Francesca Jess and Brian were able to go! Wonderful memories!

Good morning Sheri! WOW!!! Francesca is so TALL now!

I went through (not to) Hawaii once, on my way to Japan. What I saw of it was spectacular. I had to change planes but what little I saw, I'll never forget.

I'm glad Nel and her husband were able to do this trip together - may they have many more adventures in their future!

What a nice-looking young family. How fun for them all and for Francesca. I wish I could just take off - without planning something. That's my kind of vacation. Spontaneous!

Thanks for sharing their photos. It does look like they had a good time.

Hello, Dear Sheri, what a wonderful vacation filled with sweet memories for little Francesca! It's such a magical place, out in the middle of nowhere. It makes you wonder how so much life ended up there - who put the plants and animals there? I remember taking the kids to FAO in Seattle when they were young, at Christmastime. Sadly, it is gone now. Two of my kids go to Maui regularly. My son's wife's grandfather has a condo there, and my daughter and family vacations there every February. (I take care of her little dog, Lovey).I went once, on a business trip with the Mr. to Honolulu by Waikiki beach. I always wanted to go back, but that might not happen. I am just glad I got a chance to see it. The water is so blue! Such a sweet little family - loved the photos of those happy faces! Sending hugs xo K
