Some Unusual Sights On My Drive To Town

Just a few pictures of unusual sightings on my way to town to get a cup of coffee at the coffee shop.

Some daffodils growing in the wild in the middle of the forest.

A mama deer and her three young ones.  The youngest looked a bit scrappy.  It was fun to watch Prancer spring into action and jump over the fence.

Not sure why,  but some of the trees along the road have been spray painted blue.

A mural on the wall at the community center.  Anything painted by children is a masterpiece.  ; )

I'm at the coffee shop now, and today I will just get a black coffee with cream and a carrot muffin, which are amazing.  These coffees are specialty drinks and the price is a little more, but every now and then I go through the drive through and treat myself to a coffee for each new season.

And speaking of treating ourselves, Nel bought a few goodies at World Market for herself - a fairy door for her garden, a candle, and a vintage looking perfume bottle.  She has a lot of blue and gold and cream in her living room right now.

Jess misses traveling so much, and she's had to cancel many trips because of this or that.  So, she decided to take a little journey with Francesca for a few days to visit a popular city in the south.  Jess found her a little suitcase with unicorns on it for the trip.  This picture reminded me of that.

Francesca showed me her new unicorn suitcase on Zoom.  I told her that her mama used to love playing with compartments and putting little things in them too.

Mia did something funny when she was in Nel's work office.  Here she is with Nel's briefcase.  She took a ruler, placed it on the hour glass, and lined up all the chess pieces on there haha.  Very creative I think.

Hope the days are getting warmer for you this Spring, but not too warm.  Have a great week.

I love your daffodils in the forest! Our deer look scruffy now too but it won't be too long before their beautiful red color returns. We let a large area of grass near our hedge row grow wild for 5 years now and it has become a perfect area for a herd of deer to nest in safely. Watching them is such a gift to RH and me, as is the other wildlife. Your granddaughters are absolutely precious!

Mia is adorable!! I love the mural; it is so full of colorful detail. And your jumping deer, WOW! What a combination of great timing and photography. Awhile back, I posted a bunch of trees at a high school that were spray painted blue just like this. It must be a thing!

I love the daffodils in the wild.
I wonder why the trees are spray painted blue? Let me know if you find out.
And I always love when you share your family with us.
Happy Holy Week,
Carla

We all deserve a special treat. Yours sounds really yummy. your little darling looks ready to roll. Oh to be able to get away where it is warm. The rainy weathers ureis making the grass lush and green though. Daffodils are a springtime gift, aren't they?

The deer are everywhere. Our youngest Hannah is Western NY first saw a Beaver walking up the road and than two deer ran in front of her car. THey just stop and stared at her and disappeared/ My sister lives where it gets really hot but they still have so many deer coming down frot he mountains. She always send me the sweetest photos. I hope all the travelered have good journeys and your coffee & muffin sounds yummy. :-)

It is amazing how deer sail over fences. Going out for coffee, the taste always seems to be better. Nice drive seeing the deer on the other side of the fence.

That photo of the deer hopping the fence is just fabulous. Beautiful shot and how lucky to get him in motion -- and not fuzzy! I'm loving the daffodils and oh, a get away is the perfect thing for now. We've all been inside or at least in one place far too long. Every photo makes me smile.

Wow, how did you get that photo of the deer jumping? That is so neat. What a lovely post. I'm thinking you might be getting some snow this week - at this moment it is snowing on Mt Lassen and Mt Shasta and the Trinity Alps. IT's just cold and windy here - but sunny.

Mia is adorable and yes that is a smart thing to do. Who said chess pieces always have to be placed on a board. That just shows how she thinks out of the box! Creative for sure.

Fancy coffees are too rich for me although I do like them maybe get one every 5 years because if I had more, I might want them more. Nice post, beautiful photos.

I cannot believe how quickly Francesca and Mia are growing. I think that was very, very creative to do that with the chess pieces. I don't think I could do it without knocking them down at least once

BTW, I LOVE the color of that blue paint.

It's always fun to see what you are doing and your little ones too.
I was guessing that was a plant mister, but it is very pretty.
I love your tradition of going to the coffee shop with each season.

I'm so glad you treat yourself, Sheri! You deserve it. The photo of the deer jumping the fence is amazing. And the daffodils among the trees is so lovely and a sure sign that Spring is here. Your darling grands sure are growing and enjoying life. Your daughters are great mothers. I know you are proud!

Clever little Mia, she made a great art installation. I love the creativity of little children. My guess is somebody was telling the world a little boy is coming or has arrived, and decided to spray a bit of blue around. Daffodils are so cheerful, and speak to me of Spring on the way. Happy Easter to the deer family, and to you dear Sheri.

Good morning dear Sheri!

Spring is at your place! NOT HERE! Oh dear...we'll get there. No signs yet, not even a blade of tulip leaves! I have hope, though...enjoy a wonderful Easter this weekend my dear!

I LOVE that amazing shot you got of the deer in action. Great job with that snapping finger! The girls are growing so fast. Adorable. Hoping you are starting to get some warmer temps. If like us, Old Man Winter and Mother Nature are fighting over whose turn it is so we have been doing a lot of bouncing back and forth. Sleet and snow on Friday, almost 80 on Sunday. Now we have been raining for two days. Rain and I don't get along good at all. Enjoy any trips out that you make. Its great seeing all the changing sites.

Oh those smiling faces! It's great to get away for a bit. I am desperately aching to go away somewhere for a bit.
Loving that fairy door.
Nice that you treat yourself with some nice coffee.
We have daffodils in our backyard and they are suffering greatly due to the crazy weather we are having.

Wow - you have a lot of sweet things on your post.
Love the leaping reindeer - what a great photo shot.
You ought to go in the coffee shop and drink it while reading a book.
Loved the mural.
I looked up the blue marking - most said removing dead trees - but it didn't look dead. Some said it marked boundary. Some said beetles.
So Jessica and her daughter are going on a trip - they will have fun together,
That little fairy door threw me off - at first it looked so funny with the other objects looking so much bigger than I went back and saw it was a fairy door!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Made more sense.

The daffodils in the forest are so sweet. It just makes you wonder who planted them. Someone who wanted to share a little beauty with the world, I'm sure. Great shot of the deer in flight. They are such delicate and beautiful creatures. Except when you look out the window and they are standing in your garden :) Kai does a good job of scaring them away, though. I wish they could stay, but they like my roses too much. Your little grand-girls are so cute. How exciting to have a new little bag to pack for a trip. Love the creativity of little ones, too. The chess pieces balanced on the ruler is fun. It's nice that you treat yourself to a specialty coffee and treat once in a while. It's those little things that make life sweet. Have a lovely Easter, dear Sheri. Hugs xo K

Each and every photo was a delight Sheri, especially the ones with your sweet family. Darling kiddos! :) Deer photos are fun to see too, their coats look a lot shaggier than the ones we have here, no expert here mind you. The daffodils with the trees were wonderful! And good for you for treating yourself, that's a must-do :)

Wow what a great picture of that little deer jumping! Lots of signs of spring . . . surely summer can't be all THAT far behind?? It's been super wet here with 70 one day and 30's the next! Terribly windy here today but the sun has been plentiful and I always feel better when it's sunny! I hope you have a wonderful Easter!

Thank you Sheri! I am happy you enjoyed seeing the roses once again. It has been such a long wait for me.. I hope they continue to flourish.

Happy Easter!
