Francesca's Adventure In The South

I mentioned on my last post that Jess and Francesca took a little trip to the South, and the city they visited was Charleston! (South Carolina).  It's an old city with so many things to see and do.  She went to a charming French bakery that had the best croissants, visited the college of Charleston, had scrumptious cupcakes, saw many cool alleys, and stood under the Spanish moss trees.  She splurged on a horse and carriage ride.  She always wants to go on one when she visits historic cities, but they are always so expensive.  But this time she did.  Our family loves food, and she knew I would be interested in all the dishes she tried - Monte Cristo with sweet tea for lunch, and chicken and baby shrimp in a zesty pepper sauce with mashed potatoes, and the best "flash fried" brussel sprouts she has ever eaten.  I will show you pictures of her trip, and I won't flood you with ones of Jess and Francesca, just a few of my favorites of them, but mostly of the town, in case you ever want to visit.  I love Francesca's funky shoes, purple purse, and suitcase.  I'll start with my favorite picture.

Jess said it was a lot of fun, and a wonderful trip overall.

Dearest Sheri and Jess,
That was quite a journey, flying from the West Coast to the East Coast but Charleston definitely is worth all the effort!
Sure, traveling with a young girl versus an elderly man of almost 93 (only days away...) is quite different.
Best is to explore on foot but for the very same reasons we were limited.
This bus tour proved to be just perfect and a lot got told about the history and architecture. A very knowledgeable driver–guide.
Both of us were so happy for having finally realized this trip!
Being International Consultants took so much away from our leisure travel time and also we functioned many times as a personal tour–guide and driver for family and friends that came to visit us.
It was about time for doing things for ourselves before time is 'UP'...
Thanks for your visit and it is too bad that your blog obviously has no Feed as it remains always at the very bottom of my list and will not renew with each posting... Could you change that?
Hugs,
Mariette

In all my life I never went on a trip with just my mom. How wonderful. I hope that Francesca will remember this trip. To fly on a plane with mom.
Charleston is a beautiful city - I loved all the photos from there - especially the door with the ivy around it!

What a treat, going to Charleston, such a beautiful and historic city. I would love to visit - it reminds me of Gone with the Wind. Francesca's suitcase is a legend, already. I hope it has lots of adventures with her. Happy Easter Sheri.

That was a very brave thing to do, just the two of them going to a different city. We are living in such uncertain times. Glad they had fun and had a safe trip. I love the one of them eating ice cream. And the food? Oh my!

Dear Sheri - what a wonderful treat to get to see Charleston through your two girl's eyes. I think that Spanish Moss must be amazing to see. So much history there. Hubby and I have been south many times but have never managed to see Charleston...it is on my bucket list. Especially now that I saw how gorgeous a place it is. Bet the food is scrumptious. Loved the sprinkles on the ice cream...that would be a favorite of mine. Jess and Francesca could not look any more lovely or happier. Hope you had a good Easter too my friend. Sending you a big hug!

What a fun trip for Jess and Francesca! Thanks for letting me know about your post (I was going to stop by:). I love seeing photos when people visit South Carolina! I haven't been anywhere since the pandemic started, but it's always nice to see when others visit the state. I hope they enjoyed their carriage ride. I hear they're so much fun! Love all the photos!

It looks like they had a wonderful time. I have to laugh a bit at myself because South Carolina is still NORTH to me! I'm glad they had such a nice trip and did so many fun things.

Oh my ....little one looks like she had the best time. That sounds like a great trip. Loving the door pics esp the one with the vine growing up over it. So cool looking. I have a thing about doors, I have always wanted to paint a series of doors. But I love gates too. haha....
