Some White And Some Color

I woke up Saturday morning and looked out my front window, and nature sent me a big surprise.  It was a good amount of snow.  It was the soft white kind, so I scurried outside to embrace it all.  I was talking with my neighbors, and he thinks this may be the last snow of the season, so I took some pictures, and enjoyed what was in front of me, as it was falling off the tree branches, falling off the roof, and falling from the sky.

My poor rose bushes.  Well, I do want to replace the small pink bush, and plant a BIG pink bush this Spring.  Pink roses are right up there with the red.

And now for some color.  I wanted to tell you about the coffee that Nel sent her brother in the mail.  It was a 3 month subscription, with coffee from areas all around the world.  The first coffee was Ethiopian, the second was Brazilian, and the third was Costa Rican.  They were sent every month for three months, and came with postcards to read about their country.  They were packaged in colorful bags with different designs.  It was a great gift.

Jess and Francesca dressed up for Mardi Gras with their festive dresses and masks.

All the men in my family are good cooks.  With Brian baking his banana bread, my son cooking his jambalaya, and Renecke baking his homemade bread.  I can still taste it warm out of the oven with butter and honey.  Brian barbecued some meat and added it to his jambalaya rice.

I took Nel's advice and decorated for Easter a couple months early so I can enjoy it longer.  I'll show you next time, and while it's cold outside, it's warm and cozy inside with candles and coffee and lemon cake.

love you.

~Sheri

Love the heart in the snow! You know when we get snow here, even a dusting I write a note to Cory and Brit in La Mesa. WOW...you are still getting a lot of snow. We have been sitting at the 70s which I love cause there is no humidity. That is why I love fall and spring. In the spring it is so much fun watching things bust out in bloom. Love your pics...great job.

I always enjoy your posts. So pretty the color on those coffee bags. Beautiful photos of the snow. Hmmmm last snow? We’ll see.

Oh look at that snow!
Did your son have an opinion on which coffee he liked better? The subscription sounds like something I would really like.
I love that all the men in your house cook. I am hoping my boys cook when they are grown. The eldest can do some of the basics and the younger is keen on learning.

You & I have both decorated early for Easter! I would love a coffee subscription like this, but we have a Keurig. Your snow pics are so good! Some of them look like puffy clouds on the tree branches. Numbers 6 and 8 are great, making all kinds of designs.

I love hearts, Sheri and your heart at the end of your post is so meaningful. Our son is a great cook too, but my husband not so much! You certainly have some very beautiful artful photos on the trees. That is such a thoughtful gift of coffee to your son. Enjoy your last breath of winter as you get ready for Spring!

The snow looks beautiful but I think it's a great idea to decorate for Spring. I may start doing that for every holiday...starting early to enjoy it longer. Have a good week my friend!

I love snow, it's so beautiful. It's snowing right now, real light. we're supposed to get more on Thursday Night. It's only early March so that might not be your last snow of the season. That gift of coffee for your son from Nel sounds absolutely cool. Can't go wrong with coffee.

Good morning Sheri!

We too got that wet, heavy snow on Sunday but it melted yesterday! The sun was out nice and bright and strong and though it was only 30 degrees, the snow melted.

Before we know it, April will bring the promise of spring, Easter and...my 64th birthday!

Big hugs and blessings to you dear Sheri!

Hi Sheri, I hope your neighbor is right about the snow :) Your snowy photos are gorgeous! Such a very thoughtful and wonderful gift that Nel sent her brother. Jess and Francesca look very cute dressed up for Mardi Gras :) and how great is that, the men in your family enjoy cooking? Everything on that plate looks so yummy, and homemade bread is the tops. Candles, coffee and lemon cake? A perfect combination :) I am going to fix an early lunch now, lol!

Sheri, your snow is gorgeous and so are your photos. You captured it so well. Don't worry too much about your rose bushes. I wouldn't plant anything new yet, but the existing ones should be OK. Often, snow insulates; it's the ice that kills.

Love those coffee bags and fun to see photos of your family fun. Lucky to have good men cooks in the family! Hugs!

The food sounds delicious...but oh, how I love it when snow stacks up on branches, and fences and anything with just a bit of a surface. That was always my favorite kind of snow.

Oh my goodness, that snow is the perfect ending to winter. Everything perfectly flocked. How blessed you are to have so many cooks in the family. I have not started spring decorating yet. Go you. Good advice from your daughter. Love all the pics. Great post. Take care, dear Sheri!

Your snow photos are lovely, Sheri. If you were here right not (it's Wednesday), you could take a ton more because we are in the middle of a LOT of snow falling. Me thinks this winter is wayyyyyyy too long. I have no idea how many inches we are supposed to get this time around. You are a faithful blog follower, Sheri, and I thank you for your visits and comments, too. You are the best! Susan

The snow is so pretty, and you've captured it all so beautifully, Sheri! The heart in the snow is a sweet sign. The huckleberry candle must smell so good - I've never seen that scent before. The lemon cake looks yummy and the coffee gifts are so unique and thoughtful. Don't you just love men that cook? My husband can't cook a thing beyond Kraft macaroni and cheese and fried egg sandwiches, his specialties - haha, but both of my sons and both son-in-laws are excellent cooks. The girls look so cute all dressed up for Mardi-gras. It's so nice to get dressed up with someplace to go after 2 years of lockdown. Enjoy that snow while it lasts. Sending hugs xo K

-smile- We had that lovely snow, a bit ago. And it is happening again today, outside my window.

Like a Mad Cosmic Baker, plopped whipped cream, all over everything!!!

Lovely to decorate early, and enjoy longer!

Beautiful snow captures, Sheri.

These images are such a treat for us living in the tropics.

Temps are now in the 90s over here as I am typing this.

Happy Sunday!

I love seeing your snow pictures. They look like postcards to me! It's been a cold winter and I am ready for spring. Those are some great Mardi Gras outfits. They would fit right in at a parade.
