Just Because

I found an antique shop in this mountain town!  It's so charming and has lots of home decor, old and new.  It's a large shop with different rooms for everything.....kitchen, furniture, antiques, clothes, assorted teas and tea cups.   And it has a Christmas section all year long.  I had the best time browsing through all the rooms.  I love blue in the home, and I saw a blue table runner that I had to get, and some ginger tea and chocolate.

Brian made Jess breakfast in bed for Mother's Day.  It looks so good, doesn't it?  Oh, how I remember all those breakfasts in bed made by my children.

My girl will be 40 in a couple of months.  How did that happen?  She's going to take a camping road trip this Summer for her 40th with Jess and the husbands and kids.  They will travel all through California and end up north.  I get to see all my family!

This is my neck of the woods.  I'm so grateful to live in the mountains now.

Sometimes this white cat comes around, and I don't know how I feel about that.  Have never been a cat person, and have only had dogs in my life.

Francesca during playtime.

I hope you have a delightful week, and do something special for yourself,  just because.

The runner is pretty and I love blues too. I would love to live in the mountains, but we are looking for place in between the city and the mountains. Your view is beautiful. Our kids grow up so fast. I cannot believe ours are in their 40s now.

Sheri,
I adore blue as well and just like you I am adding a good bit of it to our home in the form of pillows, runners and other small accent pieces.
I have a son that just turned 43... where does time go..

I love the table runner! I think blue and white are so perfect. Now a bit about the cat, coming from a dog person--you might want to open your heart a little cats give so much love, I had no idea. Plus, they help you change sheets.

The tall trees look so beautiful where you live now. And I know you will be happy for your family to come visit. The cat is unique...I'm more of a dog person too. Enjoy your day! Wish I could go shopping with you!

I love the mountains too. Hmmm by looking at the photo I'm trying to figure out which mountain town you live in. I have an idea but won't say it for safety reasons.

The cat is beautiful. I'm surprised it is outside with mountain lions and bears and other preditors. We've lost 2 cats to preditors. Now we keep our cat inside only.

Antique stores are my favorite. I'd be in that store all the time.

Hello dearest Sheri!

That blue table runner is SO pretty. Blue is one of my favorite colors and it the perfect harbinger of spring, next to yellow and pink!

Enjoy a lovely day in the fresh, mountain air.

I had a white cat that showed up here one day. it hung around for a while and then disapeared. I was told it was an angel cat looking out for me. It was very shy and I never could get it to come to me. I am so happy your family is coming for a visit. They will love it there.

Hi Sherrie, love your pretty runner and how nice to have an antique shop close by! So exciting to have your family coming for a visit. Those hugs are going to be so wonderful. Your daughter looks so young - hard to believe she will be 40! All mine are in their 40's now, except my youngest son, but he is 38, so not too long to wait. Time just keeps flying by. Your mountain roads are so beautiful. I've always loved the mountains and can't imagine living anywhere else. Kitties are sweet - you will have to ask around to see if it has a home. So many people just dump their pets off...I've adopted so many over the years. Rescue pets are always so grateful for a warm bed, a regular meal, and a little bit of love. Hugs xo K

Happy 40th Birthday!
If that's the 4oth birthday woman in the photo, then somebody should tell her she looks 20 years.
Love your table runner, beautiful fabric. Finding a news store adds joy to life. As for the cat, she looks like she has a sweet personality, and has good taste to have found you.

That's a gorgeous table runner. I would have snatched that up, too! That sounds like a great shop. And I'm thrilled you will soon have visitors! What joy that will be.

Now, I love that cat -- she's gorgeous. Let her come to you, know that she's welcome. They are dear animals.

I love places like the one you described! I can get lost in them for hours. Sometimes only come out with one or two little things but the browsing is just as fun! You live in such a beautiful place . . . I can't imagine how wonderfully quiet it must be there . . . Enjoy the holiday weekend!!

Oh, I love cats and rescued many, hundreds over my lifetime. One of my latest rescues (that my son found crawling on a highway), the vet says was probably feral before being injured and then dehydrated before my son spotted him. He will NOT stay home, and visits the neighbors' yards. I do love dogs "best" so to speak but also love the cats. That is a pretty cat but I hope she will stay away and not upset you! How wonderful that your family will be visiting you. It has been a long lockdown. I bet they will marvel at your lovely mountain area. Isn't it amazing that you did not know you were a "mountain girl" until actually living in them?

Sheri I would not have resisted that blue and white table runner either. It is gorgeous. I have a blue and white pitcher that belonged to my grandma and a plate that was my mom's. Both are treasures.
Wow it will be so nice for you to see all your family. So happy they are coming to visit.
You certainly live in a gorgeous spot in God's country. Love those tall trees and heavenly blue skies.
Go ahead and feed that white cat...it just might become a dear friend. Of course I am a cat person as well as a dog one. Believe it or not you can be both :)!! Hugs

Lovely table runner! Such a pretty pattern and nice shades of blue. I'm glad you found a cute antique shop nearby. Such pretty views you have all around. Kitty looks cared for and his fur is clean and neat, so he has to be someone's pet. He's probably just making the neighborhood rounds.
