Just Because

Remember I mentioned that when I moved, I found the most special and interesting things along the way, in boxes or bins or tucked away safely somewhere?  Well, I kept all my children's Baptism candles, but to my surprise, I found my Baptism candle!  My mom kept everything, and she was really good about labeling names and dates.

My china cabinet moved with me one last time.  I found a perfect space for it in the house.

When I gave my bedroom dresser to my neighbor, she wanted to thank me somehow, and one day she brought over this.  It's nice to not have to buy any for awhile.

While it's snowing here in the mountains, it's sunny in So Cal, and Nel and Renecke worked out in the back yard all day Saturday getting the yard in order for the kids.  They have their own personal little playground now.

When I was unpacking, I also came across these metal hearts that I gave to my Mom.  I didn't want to keep them because she was sick at the time, but I'm glad that I did.

And I found a special message from her right before Valentine's Day.  It fell out of a book when I was cleaning it.

Nel drove up to the snow line one day before work, and Mia had a fun play day.

Jess sent me this picture of the heart tree.

Remember the swing set?

I had a Zoom meeting with the kids and it brought a big smile to this grandma's face.

That is so cool to have zoom now. I love your china cabinet with that glass.

The playground and the girls on it - was so cute.

Sheri, I'm so glad you could keep your china cabinet to store your treasures. Your neighbor really knows how scarce some items are! I was so touched by the intertwined hearts from your mother and the note. What a beautiful gift to discover. The grandgirlies are so darling. I love the swing set area Nel and her husband have created for them. I'm sure they will enjoy hours and hours of fun. Have a happy week.

Sheri,
I enjoy reading about your treasures.
They make me smile and it is a good reminder to me, that I tuck things in for the boys to find later on in life.
Happy Valentine's my dear friend!

I am so glad you were able to move the china cabinet too! You will enjoy that! What wonderful keepsakes you found! The play area looks wonderful too. I bet Mia loved the snow! I am glad you were able to have a Zoom meeting with the kids. What fun!

It's incredible the treasures you find. My mom and now I as well are the anti hoarder. To the point that I don't keep anything. My mother has no childhood toy of mine or any such keepsake, nor have I kept anything except maybe a baby sock or so.

Memories of the past and newer memories made. Nice....Nice thing for the neigbhor to drop off. That kind of gift can always be used!! Loving the backyard for the girls to play in. But loving your snowy yard. Seems starting tomorrow most of the US will be under freezing temps. They are talking ice for us. OH YAY......Esp. love your moms note and the hearts. It is so cool when you find funny little things in other items, like the hearts in the tree. That is so great. I am always looking for neat things like that. I need to do a post on my funny little things album on fb. Enjoy your snow.....
