Autumn, I've Been Waiting For You

Living in northern California, when Autumn comes around I get so excited, and I have to stop and take it all in.   The air is starting to get crisp and cool, and the colors in nature are changing to oranges and reds and golds.  Nel wants me to move to southern California to watch Mia a couple days a week, and I am considering it, but it will be a big change, as the northern and southern regions are two very different areas.  I'm a northern California gal, so while I'm here, I will embrace the season that I love so much.  Come along with me while we drive and see the goodness of Autumn.

Remember when the old houses were built
right under the power lines?

This was taken from my car window,
but he's such a grand bird that I had to take a
picture of him.

Brian made Jess a piñata cake
for her birthday!
I thought it was so creative.

When you slice the cake,
it's filled with candy!

There's just some pictures that really gets
to this grandma.
Mia playing in the Lego section at the
Disney store.

And Francesca carrying her Francesca's
bag while shopping haha.

Sheri, I know those wee grandgirls tug at your heart. They are adorable. I loved your picture as usual. Ted says that bird is what we call a sparrow hawk around here. You still have many beautiful flowers there. The robin is bold colored. Yikes you have an open coffee in the car, that is something Ted does, it makes me nervous. LOL. It is down right chilly here this morning. Love you sweet girl, blessings to all, xoxo, Susie

Such beautiful pictures. Amazing how states have different climates. We live on the desert side of our state, then there is the wet and moldy side.

As you know, I also am a NorCal girl. Southern California has its charm, and I am sure I could get used to it if I had to live there. I feel it's still California. A friend of mine moved to Alaska in July and I am dreaming of Alaska right now. I am living vicariously through her facebook posts and photos. Such a beautiful place.

I love the photos as usual. Such a beautiful time of year, for sure.

Hi Sheri, Thank you for sharing Autumn in your hometown! This is my favorite season. Your granddaughters are so sweet. I know my brother is loving the time he is spending with his grands while they are young. He will soon be in CA for one year! These are such lovely photos. They bring a smile to my face. Have a great evening. xo

That is a fantastic capture of the hawk...I would guess that it is a Sharp-shinned or a Cooper's Hawk. I have a hard time identifying hawks but am guessing it is one if those two because of where it is.

I so love the rest if your photos...we are not having much of a pretty fall so far. So your photos are filling a void.

She should move north! 😀

Love your teacups.

You captured some great photos (as usual). You have an eye for it. I love that tea cup with the small flowers on the inside and out - gorgeous. Pomegranates growing free. I just love the color changes on your side of the world. We don't have those colors here - we did when we lived in Chicago - I guess you have to have some cold weather - to get the change in colors. I know you love your two beautiful granddaughters! They are so cute. I don't and won't live under power lines - but some homes have them here still. I also liked that tree stump! Love, sandie

Oh...the babes are so adorable. Now....were you talking about selling your place and moving to S. Calif? What area? My son lives in San Diego County, La Mesa Calif. I love that area. Your pics look great. Hoping that with our rain today and more coming later with the cooler temps we have some sort of color other then DEAD BROWN! High today (FINALLY) 68 degrees!!! I wore long sleeves but I refuse to give up my sandals and flip flops yet.

Sheri, your photos are so beautiful! I adore the robin and hawk photo--amazing! I'm sure you have a lot to think about if you move south. It must be tempting to be near Nel and Mia and Jess and Francesca. Whatever you decide I'm sure you will be happy. It's beginning to cool down a little for us and I couldn't be happier! Happy Autumn, my friend.

Oh, lovely, lovely photos, Sheri. And your new header is darling, too, with the little dew drops on the rose. Move to Southern Callie? Gosh, that WOULD be a big move for you-----and no autumn there, I don't think. But being with a grandbaby might be worth it. Thank you SO MUCH for your sweet visits to Writing Straight from the Heart. I appreciate them so much and your sweet comments too. You are a dear friend. Have a beautiful rest of the week. Susan

Good morning dearest Sheri! You seem to be having much more fall than we are having here! With all this rain we've been having, my plants and trees are still very green! It's a joy to see how autumn introduces itself in everyone's state. GORGEOUS!

What wonderful fall pictures! I love raindrops on roses or flowers. That cake is amazing with all the candy inside. My daughter would absolutely kill me if I made something for grandson like that. Very little sweets allowed. Always love seeing your sweet little ones too.

You have much more color that we do! Every photo in this post just speaks to me of a beautiful fall! Glorious in every way!

You have caught many autumn colors successfully. I love each of them.

Sheri, thanks for letting me know about my post on your sidebar. The "Love this." post was going to be a link to a youtube video where Han Solo talks about the dark side and the Jedi. But youtube wouldn't let me do it. :) Too bad. It was very cool!

Sheri - your photos are stunning. The colors have really taken off. We are just now seeing some bits of reds and yellows. As for Mia - she looks too cute with those legos. May God bless you as you make the decision to perhaps move. Take care and have a wonderful weekend. Hugs!

I love autumn, it's my favorite season - but I hate those power lines. Ugh. When I came here 18 years ago I couldn't believe that the power lines weren't underground. Still aren't...

Oh Em Gee it's getting closer now! Eeeeek I can't wait until it gets cooler here in Texas. I love your story here. If I ate sugar, I would move in to that cake! I think the white rose may be my favorite shot. {Aside from the Mia shot of course} :)
