Rosary Rally

I went to a Rosary Rally this last weekend.  It was really nice, and many people joined in for this beautiful devotion to Mary.  It was outside, on the corner of an intersection, so people were passing by in their cars and honking.

I used the Rosary beads that Jess brought back from her trip to Rome.  She got them at the Vatican, and they are so special to me.

A blog friend asked a question on her blog recently, How do you cope with the sorrows of the world?  A good question, and saying the Rosary often is one way for me.  It brings me peace in these changing times.

I am pleased that my daughters are learning to say the Rosary too.  And I am reminding them to continue to do this, and to stay close to Mary always.

This is the second year I attended the Rally, and there are many reasons why I say the Rosary, but one of them is to honor our Mother, and have a close relationship with her.

I bought this doll at Hallmark for Mia
when she was nine months old.  : )

Pretty rosary. My Mom had so many rosaries. My favorite was one made of real rose petals and it was scented.

This looks like a lovely event. Your rosary is beautiful and I'm all for anything and everything that brings one peace. We sorely need it. Inner peace and in the world.

That is lovely. We use a tasbeeh which is similar to a rosary.

Hi Sheri, what a beautiful post. You remind me to say the Rosary more often! How beautiful are the Rosary beads from the Vatican. I have collected them on our travels, and have beautiful ones from Ireland and Canada. Love that little doll - I'd be happy to buy that for my grandchildren too. xxx

Good morning dearest Sheri!

That is a great question this blogger posed; these days thanks to social media, we all seem to experience the sorrows of the world at an amplified level like never before. I have found myself feeling anxious and dubious about our future, therefore, I pray.

I have fond memories of my mother praying the rosary with me at night while tucking me in, in SPANISH. Though I never pursued my Spanish language or even praying with a rosary, those memories are with me. I do however, pray to Jesus for the protection of our souls and minds in this world where truth and kindness are blurring into untruths.

May all of our prayers in no matter what language or fashion, be heard by the Most High who will lift us out of this chaos.

Your rosary is stunning!I always make plans to pray it everyday (as my husband prays) but I have failed...I will try it again. My sons studied at a school called "Maristas".It has a especial devotion to Mary, the mother of Jesus.Love your beautiful pictures.Hugs,my friend!"Peace I leave with you; my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be fearful."John 14:27.

My dear Sheri. What a wonderful post (well, ALL your posts are wonderful but I especially loved this one.) You are so sweet to ponder the question and even have an answer for it! Admittedly, I am remiss in saying the rosary but that does not mean I cannot start anew, right? I love the Blessed Mother with all my heart and soul. She suffered so greatly yet never lost her faith or humility. Have a wonderful week, dear Sheri. Susan

What a beautiful post. I remember talking to a priest one time and he said he felt the main message of Mary was to be able to do God's bidding without question and to be a model of motherhood/womanhood. I liked that. xo Diana

I visited the other night and did not comment...I am not Catholic and went to watch a video about the Rosary...just to know what is said in saying the rosary. And trying to understand it. Of course I was trying to do it and not disturb Roger's watching TV so only got about half watched. So forgive me for not commenting. Your rosary is beautiful...have you posted a pic of it before? I feel like I remember seeing it before. And am sure Mia will treasure her doll.
