Autumn is coming, and there's nothing like spices filling the air in the kitchen while baking or cooking.
The pot in which I brew my tea
is dented and more than a bit tarnished,
But I still enjoy the tea.
The house I live in
needs a coat of paint and several shingles,
But I sleep well at night.
The body I use to live my life
is wrinkled and slowing down,
But I am alive and I rejoice.
I am not the body in which I live,
I am the life itself.
Oh Yes, I like white pumpkins,
but the orange ones make my heart sing.
I've always loved lanterns.
Not sure how I will decorate this for Autumn.
Home is the one place in all this world where hearts are sure of each other. It is the place of confidence. It is the place where we tear off that mask of guarded and suspicious coldness which the world forces us to wear in self-defense, and where we pour out the unreserved communications of full and confiding hearts. It is the spot where expressions of tenderness gush out without any sensation of awkwardness and without any dread of ridicule.

I love home....
especially when little hands are here

First of all I love those two poems - especially the first.
Aqua is my favorite color. I have white, orange, and an aqua pumpkin.
Love your copper coffee teapot there. Orange pumpkin and tea....
Seems like you really do enjoy your home and you take time out to rest and enjoy it - I have to do more of that.
Your meals or foods are looking good to.
And coloring - haven't done that in a long time.

How lovely to see your transition into fall with pumpkin spice, candles, pumpkins, The Poetry of Rumi Journal, two lovely poems, and tea. Plus it is so special to have the little ones visit and play.
What a lovely post about home. I really like the poems you featured Sheri--so meaningful and touching. Your white pumpkin is so pretty. I too love orange ones, but sometimes orange doesn't go well in my home. Darling photo of your grand and her uncle. So loving. Have a great week, my friend.

Good morning Sheri! This is a marvelous time of year to stay inside, enjoy family and wait for another season to enchant us.
Yes...my most favorite time of the year! I am so ready for pumpkin spice EVERYTHING! That orange spice tea looks wonderful too! I will have to really cut back on my fall decorating this year since we will be living in a 31' travel trailer...lol! It is still close to 90 degrees here so I am more than ready for a cool down! Enjoy your week, Sheri!
Hello Dear Sheri....Love your post and all those luscious photos. Oh, your Polish cup is so pretty. Thank you so much for your visit and comment. Both appreciated. Have a blessed week, girlfriend. You are a joy. Susan

Sheri,
I love all your photos. I am ready for fall and some much needed rain. I think everyone in the fire danger areas are.
I have the phoebe bird here too. They are very friendly.
The caterpillar in the tree reminds me of the Very Hungry Caterpillar story I have read a million times with the kids and my granddaughter. (-:
Sheri - such lovely images of a home filled with beautiful treasurers...especially the little one coloring with uncle. I love the smell of pumpkin pie baking and the spicy fragrance of cinnamon. Those aromas certainly make me think fall is on its way. Time will slow a bit and those of us who love home will cozy in and prepare for quieter moments. Thanks for such a wonderful post friend. Hugs!

FALL, FALL, FALL....I love FALL. I love the colors, the smells, the warmer clothes (although I love wearing the shorts and stuff all summer). I love putting out my creative and cute socks and my boots. I love the taste of all those spices! I found some Pumpkin Pecan oatmeal the other day. Not bad at all. I also located some Pumpkin creamer for my coffee. As much as I love the spices that go with fall and pumpkin taste, I always stayed away from pumpkin flavor for the coffee, but I have to say, its not bad. I am thinking as soon as we have a slight (could be weeks) cool spell I am making PUMPKIN BREAD, one of my all time faves. Gotta love FALL! Thanks for the reminder, I have some wood I had replaced that I need to prime and paint and I see a good cleaning of the wood siding this spring. Owning a home is never ending but so much better then renting I think.
