Even in northern California it gets hot in the Summers, and I'm just trying to stay out of the heat and keep cool. I pulled a muscle in my neck, and the pain has been pretty bad (shooting up to my head), so just laying low and sticking around the house and close by. The sprinklers at the Rose Garden came on early one morning, and the roses looked beautiful. There is a table at the garden that people carve special notes and messages on. As I was looking at them, I noticed someone carved these words.....Jess is a Homie, and Red like Roses. Isn't that strange? Don't know who wrote it or what it means, but it got my attention. Nel is back home in California, and I'm glad she had a safe journey and saw many interesting things with each state she passed through. There was a tornado warning when they drove through Kansas. Nowhere to find shelter, so they drove right through the storm. The red rocks in Utah were amazing. When they went into the canyon, they saw the strange and wonderful shapes of the rock formations that were made over thousands of years. One of them looked like a lion. Mia did pretty well on the road, and so did their dog. ; ) It was a week-long trip, and Renecke drove the whole time. I got a surprise package in the mail from my blog friend, Pam. It was the prettiest tea cup with purple flowers. And now I have something from Tennessee. Our blog friends are so special and good to us.
Someone discovered Summer
watermelon. ; )

Feel better.
The pictures you shared are all so beautiful! Sounds like Nel and family had a wonderful adventure, but there's no place like home, right?
I'm so sorry to hear about your neck muscle, as I've been there.. Have you ever used Argan Oil? It really helps to massage it in on the affected area. Whenever I get a neck crick - that's what I use and it really helps to ease the pain. By the way, like everything else, you can find it on Amazon. Hope you feel better soon.
Blessings, Net
Watermelon...of course! I have a picture of my 12 year old grandson taking a big bite out of a slice when he was only a few months old. And my dogs must think it tastes as good as steak...they LOVE it...LOL! It sure is something that you came upon those carvings...how interesting! And so glad to hear that Nel and her family made that drive through the storm in Kansas safely...that had to be pretty scary! Happy Monday, Sheri!

So very sorry to hear about your neck pain. I know many have offered suggestions. One thing that helps me, is to tuck my chin toward my chest and hold it a few seconds. Repeat that several times if you can. Thankful for a safe trip for your daughter. The photos are lovely and who doesn't love sweet, cold watermelon!!! I always think of you when I see gorgeous roses. Praying you feel better soon. xo
I bet you are so glad to have your daughter back in the same state at least! Your rose shots are wonderful, specially the ones with raindrops/water droplets. That teacup is beautiful, too.
Dear Sheri,
First of all, sorry to hear about your neck and hope that feels better soon.
Loved seeing all your gorgeous photos and how sweet the little carvings that could have been meant for you.

The little one eating watermelon is so pretty and making watermelon tempting. So they are back home after a lot of adventures. I like the pink rose with the drops of water on it. And I am sorry you are suffering with your neck - do you go to a chiropractor?
Such beautiful photos, dear Sheri. Precious photos of your lovely little family and wonderful news that your daughter is moving closer to you! Love the message in the table - so intriguing. Glad the road trip went smoothly and they were able to enjoy some beautiful sights. The teacup is very sweet and thoughtful. Hope you find some relief from your neck pain. I have an herbal hot/cold neck wrap I found at the drugstore that really seems to help me when I have a stiff neck. xo Sending hugs xo Karen
The last pic is so cute! I will introduce my toddler to a melon soon, too. I wish to visit California one day🙄
GOod morning dearest Sheri! I hope your pain subsides soon because the pain in the neck area can be very debilitating. I've had it before!
Sweet friend, the heat is turning up, but we've been fortunate to have cooler than normal temperatures. However...when you end up having to wear a sweatshirt in the house (while wearing shorts), one wishes that summer would just start! My flowers are doing so well and it's been a beautiful month of blooms.
Your photos are beautiful and I wish you a lovely time with your family.
I hope you are on the mend soon. Neck pain really messes up your whole body. But I'm glad Nel is coming closer and that they survived the storm. You have some absolutely stunning photos here. I hope they survive the heat and that you do, too!
Get well soon. You have such a lovely family.

So happy your family is all in CA. now. What an adventure across country. I remember doing that when my two were young. Something they will never forget. Love the raindrops on roses. Beautiful. And that teacup; of course, you know I would love it. What a thoughtful gift.
A girl after my own heart....I LOVE WATERMELON! I usually get one, and in two days it is gone. I am the only one here besides Dakota that eats it! Sharing watermelon with the dog! I am so glad that the family is HOME and they enjoyed the trip. Looks like the dog enjoyed it also. I love taking pics of leaves/flowers with water on them. Fun trying to catch that drip right off the tip of a leave. Thanks for the shout out about the cup. Its a pretty little piece and my heart just told me that you would enjoy it esp the color. Did not think about it but you have a TN cup!
The photo taken in the side mirror of the car is awesome!
Que lugares lindos!
Sonho um dia conhecer.
A bebê está tão linda! Deus abençoe.
Bom fim de semana.
