Very Valentine

I put a few things out for Valentine's Day already.  I always enjoy decorating for the holidays, especially this one.....a day of love, and we could use more love in the world, don't ya think?  But first I wanted to share some sky pictures.   It's been raining so much here in California, and it seems the skies are even prettier after a rain.

You can see how much rain we've been having by the flooding on the grass.

Now for some cheerful....
Remember the rose soaps that Nel got me?  I put them in a gold bowl that my sister gave me, and they are a nice Valentine touch for the bathroom.

This is from the Willow Tree collection.  I used to have a couple more, but gave them away.  Me and Jess have been going through stuff and de-cluttering.   I kept this one, as she's carrying a single rose.

I have collected many tea cups through the years, but I thought these looked Valentiney (is that a word?).  ; )

I love this little cherub,
and it's smaller than it looks.

January can get dreary, and I usually light many candles during this month.

I've had these red birds for many years...they're sweet, and one of my favorite things to put out.

I sent my grandbabies Valentines
in the mail.

And my three Valentine's.
I thought the girls would like this picture, as they are raising kids of their own.  I remember well taking this picture.  We all dressed up in white sweaters and blue jeans and boots.   It was a very casual look, and a treasured picture of mine.

Made a batch of sugar cookies
with strawberry frosting.

I've always loved decorating for holidays, and really all year long.  Not sure where it comes from, cause my mom didn't decorate her house that much.  But I hope I never lose the desire to be creative, and at least put a few things out when every holiday comes around.  : )

What a fun post, Sheri. I am decluttering, too, and it sure feels good. Sure glad you kept your little girl with the rose! She's pretty special.

I love the picture of you and the kids. It makes you wonder where the time has gone, doesn't it? I don't FEEL older today than I did when my kids were young.

Have a wonderful day-oh- and I loved your sky pictures, too.
Love to you- xo Diana

I’m not into the “red" yet as as I’m still putting away Christmas item ( Yikes) I’m so behind.. but you have sparked me..Thanks for that.... Your rose teaset is perfect for Valentines and your bejewelled red frame really shows the love with your children.... I think, I’m going to have to test one of those delicious looking sugar cookies...YUMMY !!!

I love those little red birds! They are so, so cute. I don't decorate, except for Christmas, but wish I did. I love going in a house that is decorated for the seasons.

Sweet Sheri!!!!!!!!!!!

OK, I must be a day behind because yesterday when I checked my blog roll, I didn't see this...I hurried off to work. But today we have off as well as tomorrow, due to the extreme cold!

I LOVE your celebration of the red rose and heart here. And that photo of you and your children is gorgeous. To think that they are all grown up now and that you have grands....

And thank you for visiting my blog post. You had asked if that painting was of someone dear to me?No...it's an antique painting I picked up in town.

Well dear heart, off I go to enjoy two days off in my home, while the world outside freezes.

All the little Valentine decor looks great. It will be here before we know it. I still don't have my Christmas stuff taken down...OOPS, yes, I admitted that. Living here at mom's, with her passing, the funeral, then me getting so sick with this upper resp crap, now the freezing temps taking over the US I just have not gotten things down. I did however get the wreaths off the windows, the large ornaments and the decor on the porch down but they are all sitting in the living room floor. Wanted to get over there yesterday but still feeling like crap. Anyway, weekend supposed to be in the 50s, hope to get over there and take care of things then. Oops, sorry for rattling on.

The sky is beautiful! We have been soggy here in Ohio too. It got warm and rained and melted the snow. Now it is freezing again, we are looking at single digits tomorrow. I wished I lived where palm trees grew right now. :) I can't believe the roses are soap. They are so pretty! I love your cherished photo. My daughter doesn't like her picture taken, but maybe I can convince her, probably bribe her, to take one like yours. Take care. Michelle

Sheri, you have reminded me that it is time to be thinking about St. Valentine's Day. All of your pretty things are so sweet and that jeweled heart is a thing of beauty! But oh, those sky pictures! We have beauty all around us if we only look up, don't we? You capture nature so well, always.

Thank you for reminding me that it's nearly February and time to think about all that means,

Sherri I love all of your decorations! That little cherub really IS tiny . . . so cute! I too love decorating for all of the holidays but I know it came from my mom. She decorated for every holiday and we loved it. Your cookies look yummy! I typically bake heart cut out cookies during the week of Valentine's Day . . . it's just fun to do these things in the coldest, dreariest time of the year around here! Perks us all up!
