I hope you had a nice Mother's Day. Mine was a pleasant one with the girls calling early in the morning, and spending the afternoon with my son. We had hot dogs, barbecue chips, and root beer, and it was such a nice sunny day that we ate outside on the white chairs - I had cleaned them the day before and put them on the front porch. After, I gave all the plants a good watering, while he stayed out there and visited with his mama. Later, we watched a Netflix movie, Nonnas, with Vince Vaughn and Susan Sarandon. It was a heartwarming film with lots of Italian food!
While we were out on the front porch eating lunch, a deer slowly walked pass the house and jumped my neighbor's fence. It was a special treat for Mother's Day. My son bought me a new coffee cup and some chocolate.
Pope Leo X1V's first Holy Mass.
I have been drinking a cup of green tea every afternoon. ☕

While out and about running errands on Saturday, I found myself driving to the creek. Its so pretty this time of year, and I'm still waiting on those California poppies. These horses were outside their stalls, so I got a chance to take a pic.
Springtime, and everything is green!
Even the cactus plant was pretty, and I'm not a cactus lover at all.
I was wondering what these yellow flowers were growing wild?
As I was leaving, I drove slowly over the bridge, and got a Mother's Day surprise.
I drove ahead a little, and another one appeared.
Then, looking ahead, there was one after another. There had to be a couple dozen! They were all just resting there in the meadow. I've seen deer in this area before, but not this many.
I wanted to show you Mia's fairy garden. The fairies come to the wishing well and bring small gifts for Mia every now and then. ; )
And some of Nel's flowers in her garden. She planted a variety of flowers together in these cool looking pots.
May is a beautiful month. Enjoy it while it's here. 🌷🌸🌹🌺🌻🌼

Your Mother's Day sounds very nice. I also really like the film you watched.
I think the Church did everything right with its election of the Pope. He is very human, that was clear in his speech.
Mia's fairy garden is magical.
I wish you a wonderful new week.
Your photos today are awesome - the flowers, Mia’s fairy garden, the deer that kept showing up and those horses. I love all that spring green popping up around your area as we down in the valley are drying up and turning golden yellow. Woke up to some wet pavement. Supposed to rain some today.
I spent my Mothers Day at church and with my husband - but both sons called.
I’m looking forward to a productive week. I hope your week ahead brings you much joy!
Hello, I love the red polka dot pot.
I enjoyed your Mother's Day ... sounds just right.
:-)
Love, Carla
Sheri - it sounds like you had a perfect mother's day. That lunch must have tasted extra special eating it outdoors. Nel's plants look beautiful and I adore Mia's fairy garden. This is something I have thought would be fun to create. It is on my " bucket list".
Your pictures of the deer are wonderful. Don't they have the sweetest faces. Who could not adore them?? Well take care friend and thank you for always taking time to visit me. It means so much...more than you can ever know. Hugs!
Happy Monday Sheri....The little fairy garden is so adorable. I think this is great and it helps the younger ones connect with a love for gardens and nature. You really captured some neat pictures here, not only of the flowers, but the deer too. I know how you like your cups and this one that your son gave you is so pretty...love the colors and design. Wishing you a lovely week ahead, full of sunshine and more green all around you.
Happy Mother's Day, a day late. It sounds like your day and weekend was extra special. Wow! That is a lot of deer. I love the new cup and seeing Mia's fairy garden.
Un dÃa muy completo y buen productivo.
Un abrazo.
I am amazed at your deer shots! How on earth did you anticipate that jump? You got the perfect mid-jump shot! But my favorite is the one laying down and looking back straight at you. The mug is so pretty! I have never seen a cactus like this one. The fairy garden is so cool! I love them and make small ones for in the living room.
It sounds like you had a lovely Mother's Day weekend. And what a special gift to see those deer! The photos are beautiful, Sheri, and I especially am wowed by the one in mid-jump over the fence. Bravo! (Mia's garden is darling!)
Such lovely photos. The fairy garden is adorable. You got some nice deer pics as well.
May is a wonderful month, and your birthday is coming soon!
I love hotdogs and root beer. The all-American meal.
You know you suggested Nonnas - I can't tell you how many more people told me about that. We plan on watching it tomorrow. I hope that May 9 was the starting date and not the only date. You have a lot of nice mugs/cups. Love chocolate. Gee all those horses and deer that has to be so much fun. I would love that. And it is so green and fresh. Mia's garden is adorable - love the well with the colored rocks and her blue door.
I am so glad you had a wonderful Mother's Day!
Sounds like you had a very full and nice Mother's Day.
Where there is one deer there are always more.
I love fairy gardens. I hope you have a good week
Children's worlds are special. Their innocence and curiosity are incredibly powerful tools to make new world adults have never seen. I love to hear children's explanation about their creation.
Happy May to your family.
Very lovely post, Sheri. Your Mother's Day sounded delightful. Wow, I guess you live in deer country! So many little sweeties and your photos are fabulous. Love the fairy garden and the flowers, too. Thank you for sharing! Hugs. Susan
Adorable post! Hugs and blessings dear Sheri.
I'm glad you had a great Mother's Day!!
The meadow with the deer is so beautiful, as well as the flowering plants in the meadow of wishes!!
Yes, May is one of the most beautiful months!!
Sounds like a wonderful time. Your photos are beautiful.
It sounds like a lovely Mother’s Day Sheri, with the phone calls from your family and the time spent with your son. Such a special cup he gifted you, along with the chocolate. And talking about gifts, how special to see the deer jump your neighbor’s fence, and later with those others. I saw the advertisement for Nonnas. I will take a look now. A very special day to see Pope Leo XIV's first Holy Mass. I believe Pope Francis is smiling. Great quote! I like drinking green tea in the afternoon and it goes lovely with a cookie or two. You have the prettiest cups, I love this friendship one. Thank you for taking all the lovely photos on your drive. Isn’t it a beautiful time of the year? My plant app said your yellow flower was the California goldenbanner, also known as Velvety false-lupine. I hope they are right. I loved the photos of Mia’s darling fairy garden. I am quite partial to them as you will see in an upcoming post. Nel’s flowers are lovely and those pots are very cool indeed. Have a wonderful rest of the week Sheri and a great weekend.
Hi dear Sheri!
I am glad to come across your blog and read what you shared. In Bulgaria there is no tradition of celebrating Mother's Day. We celebrate March 8th - Women's and Mother's Day.
The yellow flower is Baptisia sphaerocarpa, commonly called false indigo is an upright, mounded perennial that typically grows 2-3' tall. It is native to open habitats along the Gulf Coasts of Texas, Louisiana, and Mississippi north through Oklahoma and Arkansas to Missouri.
I love the scent of Alyssum - the white flower with small flowers that your daughter planted.
I love the little stone house. You got some nice pictures.

Love that surprise visit from the deer.
Mia's fairy garden is magical.
May really is a beautiful month. 🌹
What a lovely Mother's Day moment! There’s something magical about spotting wildlife so close to home—like nature’s little surprise just for you. And how sweet of your son! A new coffee cup and chocolate sound like the perfect cozy gift combo. Hope your day was filled with peace, love, and lots of warm sips!

I love the font of this post and allthe good energy vibes. Thanks for checking in. I'm sad and also getting better. Thanks. Happy Mother's Day! Sounded perfect.
What a beautiful and peaceful way to spend Mother’s Day. I love how simple moments—like eating lunch outside, watering plants, and enjoying a movie—can feel so special when shared with loved ones. The deer walking by sounds like such a magical little surprise, almost like nature giving you a gift too. That combination of root beer, hot dogs, and sunshine feels like pure comfort. And your stop by the creek sounds lovely—I can imagine how refreshing it must have been. Hoping those California poppies bloom soon! Thanks for sharing these sweet May moments. They really remind us to slow down and appreciate the little things.
