I attended the fundraiser dinner a couple weeks ago with all my family. For my new blog friends, here's a little of the story....when my dad passed, our family set up a fund to provide clothes and shoes and backpacks for the children in the school district, and this fundraiser dinner is to help raise money for the shopping spree they have with each school season.👧👦
Every year for the dinner, I like to choose a different color to wear than the last year. This year it was Coral. I've always loved Coral in the Spring and Summer months. I found a cute blouse with flared mesh sleeves, and I wore dark blue jeans with it. I found some dangling earrings to go with the outfit too.
Nel fixed my hair, and she has such a talent with hair styling. She suggested a French Braid, so I said, "why not?"
After she did my hair, Mia wanted a French Braid also, so Nel patiently did her hair too.
We were all dressed up and ready to head on over to the fundraiser dinner.
This was the 35th,
What makes it even more special is the fact that I started taking my children when they were 5 and 8 (my son wasn't born yet), and now my daughters are carrying on with the tradition and taking their little ones. They are becoming close to their cousins, and are all developing their own personalities. Here's Francesca with her cousin.
After taking a family photo with the Photographer, we went outside to see the fireworks. This was not planned for our event; they were just in training, and we had the delightful pleasure of watching them. It was an extra treat for us.
As we were getting ready to leave, and the crew was cleaning up, Mia asked a woman if she could have a bouquet of flowers for her grandma for her birthday. I still get sentimental when I think about it, what a dear child. I told Nel I wanted to keep them forever, and she told me how to turn them upside down to dry to preserve them better.
It was a fun night for my family, and I got a chance to talk with friends I went to school with, and those who have been close to my family for years.

You look beautiful in coral. It’s definitely your color and the French braid looks perfect on you.The sleeves on your new blouse are very attractive. The family look so nice at the fundraiser event and it’s so special that it’s been going on for 35 years. Wow. That was so sweet of Mia with the flowers. Such a dear child that thinks of her Grandma! It’s those little things that fills our heart with love and gratitude. You have a wonderful close family.
Blessings for the week ahead as you enjoy Spring!
You all look great. Coral suits you very well. The idea behind the dinner is wonderful.
Hello Dear Friend,
Happy Easter Monday!!

I LOVED the story about the bouquet.

You look so lovely, and you have such a beautiful and loving family. What an amazing fund raiser you have created!! No kids left behind when school starts. One of the most fun things about school starting is shopping for supplies, and now all the kids will be able to do it. The flowers are gorgeous! Your top is so much like Spring!
Love that blouse and your hair! Well done to Nel for that. And that event looks fantastic. Such a wonderful cause and looks fun too. What a wonderful remembrance.
Sheri coral is the perfect color for you and I adore the French braid. What a wonderful fund raiser that continues to live on. What a blessing your family is continuing to preserve this special event. I hope you had a great Easter. I adore the picture that you posted for your Happy Easter wishes. Take care and have a great week friend. Hugs!

First of all, what a wonderful tribute to your father - 35 years later and it will continue for long after this.
Coral is a gorgeous color on you - and the French braid was perfect.
So nice to see your beautiful family there too.
Mia remembering you with flowers for her grandma - is so sweet.
Happy Easter Monday. So sad to hear about the Pope.
Love, sandie
Absolutely beautiful and the coral color was a perfect color for you. Love your hair. Wish mine was long enough to braid like that. Your daughters are so pretty (they favor their mom). This is a wonderful event and I know your dad would be so proud. It takes a lot of people to keep something like this going for 35 years. Bless them and you all for the hard work and dedication. Such a lovely post Sheri.
Sheri! I love that you ended the post with a picture of yourself. Beautiful. I also love that your kiddos are sharing in the tradition with you. That's wonderful.
You look stunning in coral! This is definitely your colour! Warm greetings from Montreal, Canada.
What a beautiful and meaningful way to honor your dad's memory by supporting the children in your community. It's wonderful that the fundraiser dinner has been going strong for so many years, thanks to the dedication of so many. Your coral outfit sounds lovely for spring, and those centerpieces with the children's drawings and purple flowers must have been incredibly special. It's so touching that your daughters are now carrying on the tradition with their own children, creating those family bonds and memories. And how sweet of Mia to ask for flowers for her grandma! The unexpected fireworks were just the perfect magical ending to a truly special evening. Thank you for sharing this lovely story,
You look so beautiful in your coral outfit, Sheri. Coral is my fave color too.
How sweet that Nel did both your and Mia’s hair. French braids are such a classic!
The fundraiser sounds like such a special tradition, and I love that your family is keeping it going.
And Mia asking for flowers for her grandma just melted my heart. 🌹
