Just Some September Things

Last week was just an ordinary week - I had a dentist appt., which I always dread.  My tooth has been bothering me lately - sensitive to hot and cold, so I went in.  Thankfully, no cavity on that side, so it wasn't a bad day after all.  Afterwards, I drove through, and got my first coffee of the season; pumpkin spice latte, which was hot, and only a bit of whipped cream.

The foliage is starting to change.  We never see a sudden drastic change like the beautiful Falls in the Midwest.  It comes gradually here, starting with the golds and oranges.

The golden rod is blooming like crazy at the creek, and it's a favorite place for the bees.

There are dozens of cows at the cow farm nearby, but I caught this one alone, away from all the others.

Whenever I see a tire swing, it reminds me of swinging my young son at my uncle's house, while his sisters were in school.  He had a swing in the front of his house, next to my dad's garden.  I would go over there often when visiting my mom.

My sacred place.

My new candle smells of pumpkin and spice and fills the air with a delightful seasonal scent.

Loved this wee pumpkin with the long stem.

Charlotte is on the go - it's hard to keep up with them at that age, but they can be so funny sometimes.

About once a month I go to the burger drive-up and order a juicy mushroom burger.  They are big, messy, and amazingly delicious.

A Silouette of me at the burger place taking a picture of the flower box.

Remember the soft stuffed Cheetah I bought for Mia?  It's the team mascot for her soccer this season!

And Francesca is playing soccer too.  Reminds me so much of Jess when she was a young soccer player.  One time, she scored 5 goals in one game.  In the middle of the game, her coach asked me what I was feeding her.

We had thunder, rain, and hail yesterday.  I hope we get some heavy rain.

Sheri, it looks so festive in your home. Since it's been warm here I haven't gotten in the fall spirit, but this week the temperatures are going to get more seasonal for me. I love that your grands play soccer. Our children and grands played as well. I love the team mascot is the cheetah you gave her. That burger looks wonderful. You can't beat a good burger place. Love your silhouette in front of the flowers. I'm glad to hear rain is on its way. Hopefully it will help with the fire issues in your area. Have a great week!

Good to hear no cavities. I have never had a pumpkin spice drink. I'm an not a fan of flavored coffee. Our leaves are starting to turn as well.. everything is so much more beautiful in fall.

We had a big thunderstorm yesterday too. I enjoyed it very much as I sat outside on the patio. I have a dentist appointment in November. I’ve also had some tooth sensitivity to where I bought a toothpaste that helps with that.
Oh I love all your photos - first the one of the cow looking at you is funny. Charlotte is just too cute and I bet she is on the move. Mia looks so sweet holding her mascot that you gave her. My boys played soccer. Back in those days, Fall looked like the freshly mowed grass on the soccer fields and sliced oranges at half time! Throw in muddy socks and sweaty soccer uniforms and that was Fall. lol
The flowers are so pretty. Glad you were able to get your pumpkin spice coffee to usher in Fall.
Enjoy your week - supposed to get into the high 90’s next Monday but to me, that is just too far away to hold any credibility. Meanwhile I’m going to enjoy the cooler temperatures.
Take care . 🍁

I am scared to death of the dentist. I found one who caters to each individual patients needs so I may see him. I am glad you had no cavities. I always enjoy your stories and pictures. You are blessed with a wonderful family. Take care and enjoy this new week.

Yay for the girls playing soccer. This is a good sport for them to play. Hope you get to see them play. Is that Hail in the picture? It looks big. Hope it did not do any damage around your place. Goodness, that burger does looks soooo good. I haven't had a burger in a long time. I know your home is smelling so wonderful with that pumpkin spice candle. I like how you paired the beautiful candle with the big white pumpkin...so pretty.! glad your dentist appointment turned out to be good. Enjoy your week Sheri.

Autumn is a wonderful time of year. All the beautiful colors of nature, decorating our homes, special foods and drinks that just say it's that special time of year. I think we all enjoy the changing out of every season...but Autumn / Fall seems to be most people's favorite. I won't mind if the snow holds off for a while longer though. Enjoy your beautiful scenery; the cows, the tree's and plants.

You did get a lot of hail there didn't you - but no heavy rain? :(
I love September too and the pumpkins and orange. Candles.
I have never had a pumpkin spice latte. But I love coffee.
You were lucky you had no cavity!
I don't think I have seen nuts on trees like that - but I must have. The foliage is changing there. Wow.
That cow was so pretty - how close is that to you?
We used to have a tire swing in our basement up in Chicago. The kids loved it.
That mushroom burger did look pretty good - lots of cheese on it too. And flowers still blooming there.
Charlotte is such a beautiful and happy baby. So pretty on the white sheet and outfit.
And both girls are playing soccer. I do remember those days.
Thanks for the beautiful post.

Hi Sheri, I love your September things. Congratulation to the Cheetah: Team Mascot is a very important role indeed. Aren't the Fall colours so pretty, all golden in the sunshine. I see horses here, and you see pretty cows. We are lucky walkers. Orange and Spice tea sounds perfect for the Season, and I have not seen it here. The mushroom burger looks absolutely delicious. Happy days.

Hello, that burger looks delicious. Do you know, we cannot find sesame buns anymore around this neck of the woods. In fact my friend Lori asked me about sesame buns just this week, if I knew of a bakery that had them.

That is adorable here cheetah is the team mascot!
Strang it is about pumpkin stems. They have to be just so or else it is a not even if the pumpkin is perfect. I pumpkin hunt by stem first.

That burger looks so delicious. Love the flowers and the rain. I had a dentist appointment just yesterday and know what you mean. I would rather be doing something else. How fun to see your granddaughters too. You are definitely getting into the seasonal festive decor. I think this year, since I am packing to move, seasonal things may not get noticed too much. I will just enjoy seeing everyone else's decorations.
