Home And TV Moms

My son has always been interested in Culinary Arts.  He loves preparing meals with different sauces and spices, and this week he made a shrimp and pasta dish that was delicious, and another night some pork tacos.  These tacos were literally the best tacos I've had.  He made a sauce with the pork that was so tasty that it kept me wanting more!

California Quail....this funny bird visits my lawn and fence daily.  His call is not too loud, but distinctive, and he is usually scratching at the ground in large groups searching for food, which is why they are known as 'ground birds.'  The female isn't that striking, but the male is regal looking.

"May is the month of expectation, the month of wishes, the month of hope."

~Emily Bronte

And then there are these, who come around much too often and annoy me. ; )

It's supposed to be sunny and warm all of May, with periods of rain at the end of the month.  When you live in the mountains, you get to know the forecast.  We had a snow rain one day - slushy snow fell from the sky looking like a thick rain.  It was so neat.

I made some cornbread, and I always have it warm, topped with butter.

Charlotte's eight month picture.

My new cup arrived in the mail from my best friend.  She tracked it down, and made sure it was delivered when it was supposed to.  I love it.

In honor of Mother's Day, I wanted to share some of my favorite tv moms.  I've enjoyed watching them through the years, disciplining, guiding, listening, and loving.

*Olivia Walton

*Reba

*Lorelai Gilmore

and my favorite of all....

*Caroline Ingalls

Thinking of my own mother, and thankful for the unconditional love she gave me throughout the years.

I'd like to hear some of your favorite tv moms if you'd like to share.

Happy Mother's Day!

Wht a fun collection of TV Moms. And look at that little Charlotte -- she's growing quickly. I love that your son is a good cook (and shares that skill at his table!) The food all looks delicious. I hope he treats you to a nice Mother's Day. We're having a rainy day, too. Ah, May!

Happy Mother's Day!

Happy Mother's Day!

I think my favorites were Olivia Walton, Caroline Ingalls and June Clever from Leave it to Beaver. I never watched those other TV moms.
My goodness Charlotte is a cutie. She is growing so fast. Soon she’ll be walking!
Is that a picture of you? How sweet!
I’m glad your pretty cup arrived just before Mothers Day. Your son reminds me of mine. He’s a “ foodie” for real. And since his first job working at Round Table pizza he always liked that industry. Now as a dietitian for a care facility he helps the elderly with their special diets.
Happy Mothers Day!

Dearest Sheri,
No favorite TV moms as we never watched any movies—no time for doing so.
But I surely loved my Mom, my Mother–in–law and my Grandmothers!
Why are squirrels annoying? Love seeing them around with the birds and I feed both.
Maybe it is because I used to have a pet–squirrel.
Happy Mother's Day!
Hugs,
Mariette

I love your new header - so pretty.
So can your son repeat a recipe? They looked good.
All male birds are prettier than their female counterparts. lol That quail looks like he has a feather out of his head.
Your birthday is in May too - right?
I have never seen a snow rain - I have seen a sun shower though.
That cornbread looked delicious - do you make that from scratch?
Charolette is 8 months already - she is beautiful.
Glad you got your cup - it is pretty.
I hope YOU have a terrific Mother's Day.
I love Olivia, Reba, and Caroline - I have not watched the Gilmer Girls.
I think of Father Knows Best. The mother is 7th Heaven is a favorite of mine. And Leave It to Beaver?
HAPPY MOTHER"S DAY!

I love your new cup. What a very thoughtful friend! I love cornbread too and make from scratch.
You are so lucky your son loves cooking and makes you such yummy food.
I don't care for squirrels either. They are destructive.
I think Caroline is my favorite Mom. We watched Little House on the Prairie every week. She was such a strong woman.

Happy Mother's Day friend. As always I found such lovely photos here. Charlotte could not look any more adorable. I am sure Grandma thinks so too. Rain and snow do make a slushy mess...it looks like it was falling on your lilacs. What a shock for them. All the dishes your son made sounds fabulous. Makes me think you should always leave the cooking to him. We do not have quail here that look like this. Wow he is certainly a handsome dude. The last picture is so nostalgic. Are there not times when one wishes they could go back in time. Perhaps those days were not sweeter but to me they seem so. You picked my two favorite moms Olivia and Carolyn Ingalls - they always seemed so wise. Well take care dear one and enjoy the rest of your day. Hugs! P.S. yes I do still hang my clothes out on the line from spring through fall. :)!!
