Pink Pleasure

Well, I told you that we could get snow here up until April....and we did!  We got rain and thunder on Wednesday.  It was so loud that at one point it made me jump.  Then, a couple days later, we had a snowfall, and it was a good amount.

This time, it was clumpy snow, which is a heavy wet snow after a Spring storm.

My neighbor's bushes looked so pretty dressed in white.

I had to dig my angel out, and my mini rose bushes got covered as well.

This may be the last snow, but then again, who knows up here in the mountains?

My son treated me to a Mexican feast.  Wasn't that nice?  There was Shrimp Ranchero, steak tacos, chicken tacos, beans and rice, and chips and salsa.  Although some of it was eaten before I took the picture.

I'm almost done with the goody bags for the kids.  I could keep filling them, as I've enjoyed finding all these treats, but all these little things are adding up.  Aren't these the cutest braided hair extensions for a little girl?

I took down all the Purple, and have replaced it with some Pink for Spring.

Charlotte's seven month photo.  I just love her sweet smile.

The first pink blossom tree at my neighbor's house.

After the snow, the sun came out, and it felt so nice and warm out.

I baked a rainbow cake.

Oh, and I had to get a new starter for the car.  I was at the grocery store when it died on me.  I was hoping it was just the battery, but turns out I needed a new starter.  An old man tried to jump start it, but that didn't work, so it was towed to the automotive shop.  My neighbor drove me to the shop when it was finished.  Lots of help that day....but that's what we're supposed to do, if we can.  It came at a bad time, when I'm just getting ready for my trip, but my car runs nicely now, and it's been loyal to me for so many years.  Reminds me of an episode on Gilmore Girls where Lorelai's jeep breaks down, so she tries to buy a new car, but discovers that she doesn't like any car but her beloved jeep.  So, she ends up installing a new engine in her old car.  I can relate.

Aside from the snow, Spring has arrived.

Have a good week.

We took Laydee up to the snow to play. My son is planning a back trip in the snow. He bought some snow supplies along with snow shoes.
All the “pinks” look so pretty.
Charlotte looks so kissable! She’s a doll.
I had a 1970 VW bus for years and dropped 2 engines in it so I know about wanting to keep a beloved vehicle.
Yum on the Mexican food. I made enchilada's on Friday. They were simple but delicious! I have favorite place here in town - Guadalajara’s and one in Anderson, Mr Taco.
Now I’m hungry!
Have a great week and enjoy the snow melt and sunshine!

Dearest Sheri,
Fresh snow always looks so wonderful but dealing with it is not fun.
Those pink blossoms are like a dream as is infant Charlotte!

Oh my goodness so much to say - again I love your post. So beautiful.
How can one have thunder - all that snow - and spring at the same time? lol You had a lot of snow it seems to me - hopefully the winter is over for you.
So how did all those gorgeous flowers fare in the snow and that beautiful cherry tree? I bet they didn't like it.
I love pink too - and how did you make that rainbow cake - and that pink icing with a smiley face!!
Your son is awesome - it is so nice he brings you home special treats like that - it looked really good.
Love the braids and so will the girls. Do you go soon - they will enjoy those bags.
Charlotte is a DOLL!
Did you see the eclipse today - I didn't have glasses but it did seem a little darker here, but not too bad.
Say I may a butter pecan pound cake today myself.
Well have a nice day.

Spring snow is indeed pretty, and I am always thankful for one more chance to be cozy inside before spring. I would love to share a piece of cake with you, but as a country separates us, I will say, Have a cozy evening, my friend.

The nice thing about spring snow showers it that the snow is short-lived. The bad thing is that they are usually wet and heavy destroying trees. It does make for a beautiful landscape though!

Good morning Sheri. So much to enjoy about this post. The Mexican food looks amazing!! The photos of the snow really show how heavy and wet the snow was. I'm sure the ground was happy to have all of the moisture. Seems like when a car breaks down, it is always at the most inconvenient time. It would have been nice if it was not going to start, for this to have happened in your own driveway. But....God always has a plan, and you were able to experience the kindness of others that day. I'm glad you have it fixed now. All of your PINK photos are great....especially little Charlotte in her pink dress...what a cutie she is. Spring has arrived and it is so wonderful to see the beauty of the flowers that have been hidden from us throughout the Winter. Such a beautiful surprise that God blesses us with. It is a very rainy day here...Hope your day is filled with Sunshine.

The snow is so pretty - the perfect amount, too. Not too much to break the branches and hopefully it melted quickly. Baby Charlotte is adorable with her chubby cheeks and beautiful, dark hair. They are babies for such a short time. So nice of your son to bring you the delicious meal, and the rainbow cake looks yummy, too. Love your rose painting and the flowering tree. Your flowers are pretty, too. Sorry you had to deal with the car needing a new starter and glad you had some kind and helpful people to get you through it. I love The Gilmore Girls. I watch the whole series at least once a year. Hope you have some sunshine this week as you prepare for your trip. Hugs xo K

At least your snow was pretty -- the photos are great. It almost looks magical, like the kind you see in a Hallmark movie (which, I'm told, isn't snow at all since most are filmed in summer!) Oh, that sweet Charlotte -- so cute. And that cake looks great too. I'm glad your garden is coming in and that the snow didn't mess things up. Your neighbor's tree is a beauty. And glad your car is fixed. A new starter sounds expensive but essential! Have a good rest of the week.

Oh the late spring snow - we always get some here, and it is a blessing, poor man's fertilizer we call it around here! Your springtime blooms are glorious! Sweet baby Charlotte, she is so precious! Love your rainbow cake, I always loved those too, when I was eating sugar. Your Mexican feast looked fabulous - oh it is so delightful to enjoy a meal that you don't have to cook! So much to love - happy springtime to you dear friend!

Hi Sheri, as long as I don’t have to go anywhere, I love the snow. Yours sure looks pretty in the photos, especially the one of your angel. We have also had a lot of rain but no thunder, fingers crossed :) You have a sweet son. The Mexican feast looks delicious! Charlotte's seven-month photo is so adorable and a beautiful smile indeed. Love those cute hair braids. I have never seen anything like them. Those seasonal decorations you put out are charming. Sorry about your car problems but glad they were sorted out. Beautiful flowers! The rainbow cake looks yummy and how you finished it off was delightful. Thank you my friend and have a great weekend.

Sandie, the flower pics were taken before the snow, and it didn't last long. And I saw the cherry tree yesterday after another snowfall, and the blossoms were much darker, not as pretty as before. ; )
