We've had lots of rain lately, and more to come this week. The creek is filled with water, and it's so full that you can't even see the dividing lines like you used to. Reflections on the water.
I noticed three geese from a distance on the water. It was hard to see them, as they blended in with the greys and browns of Winter.
Safely on land.
There are dozens of black cows grazing at the cow farm, and I saw one cute brown one, maybe a calf?
An Easter treat, Palmer peanut butter cups. I love Palmer chocolates during the holidays.
Made some cranberry bread. Remember I told you how I love the center piece of brownies, cakes, and desserts? I chuckled when I saw that my son had taken the center piece of the bread. I guess it runs in the family, and I can totally relate. ; )
I saw four California Quail outside my window. I love this plump bird, he cracks me up. And I've only seen him in the mountains where I live. These two just waited for the others to catch up.
Mia wanted to dress up like a Unicorn on St. Patrick's Day.
My kids have always loved St. Patrick's Day. Jess had Lucky Charms in the morning, and she made gourmet baked potatoes, tri tip, and green apple juice for dinner. She found a leprechaun too!
My sister called me, and we talked for a long time. I'm so glad that I have a sister to tell my "things" to, and that I can just be my funky self talking with her.
I visited the antique shop in town. Didn't buy anything, but it was fun looking around. I have also donated a few things there in the past, and I didn't see them, so I imagine they were sold.
The drought situation in California continues to improve across the state. More rain on the way.

You my friend are a blessing. I want to eat some cranberry bread and chocolate with you.
Bread center lol!
That is a lot of water, Mother Earth's springtime fill up.
The quail are adorable birds. I hope to paint them one day.
Happy Spring!
Thank you for the reminder geese will be around. So far I've only seen them flying south, wrong direction for this time of year.
Lovely post!
Hello! I am smiling because Steve does the exact same thing with brownies and cakes! Right smack dab in the middle! That cranberry bread looks delicious, by the way. Your little St. Patrick's Day grands are adorable. Enjoy the beauty of your day, my friend.
Your center piece of bread/cake absolutely cracks me up. And it sounds delicious -- I need to make some cranberry bread. That sounds wonderful. I love seeing the geese. Ours are back too, though not in force. And those reflections really are stunning.
Mia and Jess are adorable, and I love those green bee tights! Your new header is so pretty! I like the corners of cakes and brownies, for the crisp part. Quail always make me smile. Yes, that cow does look very young.
Dearest Sheri,
That final rose photo with fly and raindrops is a stunner!
Guess the true meaning of Saint Patrick's day is mostly being drowned out... Sad in a way. Kids sure love to dress up!
Those California quail look so special with their plume!
Funny to take the center piece of bread—guess it is the true meaning of eating your HEART out! 😉
Hugs,
Mariette
Beautiful reflections, Sheri, all around. I love the little brown cow standing out because he is different. The quail are so sweet. I just love their call. Your grand-girls are so precious, enjoying their celebrations in style. Family is so comforting to have around, even when they eat the middle of your cake. Haha! It's so nice to see the geese and birds returning for spring. Glad you are getting some much-needed rainfall. It's going to make everything lush and green in a few weeks. Hope your week is full of sweetness my friend. Hugs xo K
I love the cow when they are bushy like that.
What a cute little leprechaun you have.
Hi Sheri...You showed us the most adorable leprechaun/unicorn ever seen! How sweet. Hope your whole week is fabulous. Hugs for each day! Susan
The geese always hit my hometown for remainder of shelled corn left after harvest. One time I was back visiting the geese were heading south?? and they dive bombed the field.
We live in Riverside county, and there are some quail families in the shrubbery bushes by our patio. I watched as the daddy perched on our railing, looking around.
He indicated to the family it was okay, but he kept watching for predators. Such cute little quails followed in a line behind the mama. Thanks for calling up that memory!
Hi Sherri, what a nice post. Love those Quail. They are so cuddly looking for birds. I don't see them much around here - I did have a few walk through my yard one time. I was beside myself. I might have scared them away for good. It's always nice to see Mia and Jess. They are growing fast.
I loved your post.
Seeing the geese made me smile - for some reason I really like geese. I used to have a set of four beautiful geese in my yard before we moved.
Mia was a free spirit being a unicorn for St. Pat's day. Cute girls.
Are the CA quail aqua? That is my all time favorite color. I love it.
Funny how you eat bread out of the center - and your son does too?
Can black cows have a brown car?
I am glad you have a sister you can be close too.
Lastly I love how the photo reflects the trees with the water.
You really did good!
Aha, the snow has been replaced by rain. I think Spring is on the way. Those geese are so pretty and elegant. I always look forward to seeing them in America. And the quails are adorable and cute. I have a pottery one I bought at the Pueblo at Taos years ago, happy memories. What fun to celebrate St. Patricks with the kids, and adorable unicorn and leprechaun :) Lovely post, Sheri.
You outdid yourself with these photos! They are fantastic. Wishing you a wonderful beginning to the new season.

Good morning dear Sheri! Spring is here; it may not be all flowers and sunshine but wet, muddy and cool air is certainly a sign of beautiful blooms to come!
Lolol...center piece...me too!lol
Glad Cali is getting enough rain, needed.
Love the geese photo!
hugs

Hello, I am so happy to hear the drought situation is improving. America receives so much produce from California. In fact I just ate a California orange.
I love the quail photos, they make me smile.
Love, Carla
Adorable post as ever dear friend! Blessings.
The Quail are gorgeous! How nice to see them right where you live. Love seeing the little ones dressed up. A fun post today! Hugs, Diane
Another charming post Sheri, the kiddo's are adorable! I kept going back and looking at every photo, such a fun post. Thank you for letting me know about those quail too. I have only ever seen them once. I was in Seattle when I saw them running across my friends garden. I hope I will see them again one day. Happy March!
It's raining here too. I'm happy about the rain - that way there will be moisture in the ground and it's good for plants and mushrooms. Hey, I love the middle pieces of brownies too, but on loaves I love the end pieces.
Happy Spring!
Adorable leprechaun and unicorn. LOVE THOSE LITTLE SWEETIES!
I had a most delicious cranberry orange muffin the other day. Nothing compared, and I like sweets. I like the osdes of the pan of bbrownies, but middles of cakes, too. Glad your drought is over. Hope flooding is not an issue.
Beautiful blog
Please read my post
It looks like the snow is gone Sheri - hopefully the rain keeps the snow away and brings April flowers!! Your center missing in the bread made me smile..."looks like the apple doesn't fall too far from the tree" :) Your unicorn and leprechaun are absolutely adorable. Be sure and enjoy those peanut butter cups for me. Hugs!
So glad the drought has gotten better in California this winter.
I have not heard of Palmer chocolate.
I love cranberry bread. Yummmm!
I always think of Mt. Shasta when I see your nature pictures and wonder if you are close to Shasta. I can just picture it with water in the lake this winter.
And yes! I love, love California quail. They are so cute.
Yummm! That cranberry bread looks soooooo good!
I enjoyed seeing the geese.
The kiddos are super adorable!
Hugs and blessings, Sheri 🌹
