Rain!

We got some rain on Friday!  Just a small amount of rain in the morning hours, but it felt so good to see the water come down after all this time.  I hope it helped with the fires.

I've been cooking healthy meals lately.  It always seems more comforting to cook in the Fall.

Francesca helped Jess decorate for Fall this year.

Mia and Nel made an Autumn spice cake to nibble on while they set things up.  Mia is painting herself in flour.

My son went to a little cafe last week, and he said they had the best coffee there.  It's rated in the top 2% of coffees in the world.  He brought a bag home for me, and it was really good - had a smooth taste.

While driving to the creek, in the middle of nowhere, I saw this.

I thought this was a lovely Autumn scene in my rear view mirror.

I want to get a pumpkin for my front porch.  They are selling them already at the grocery store.  They are the big orange ones that make me smile.
Have a pleasant week.

We finally got some rain. Those 100+ days were getting very tiring. I am trying to like fall, but since it welcomes in winter, I am not sure how much I can like it. To early for pumpkins, they can stay at the store a bit longer.

Happy Rain!
Pumpkins! And baking, the best parts of any season, IMHO.
I look at your autumn decorations and feel better about the end of summer.
I have feeling newsprint pumpkins are in my future. :)
Your are lovely.

The rearview mrror scene is gorgeous, and what soft and beautiful photos of the rose. And what a flour dusted cutie! I wonder if those balloons were put there on purpose, or if they just got away from someone? What a fun thing to come upon!

Hi,
I wonder what the balloons were for? You will have to become a detective and find out. ;-)
I plan to purchase a pumpkin at the end of this week too.

First-year I didn't plant pumpkins and I already regret it. I didn't know you had a son. Nice that he gave you some good coffee. That's a good son! :-)

Your dinners look so good. It's always nice to hear from you.

The girls are so cute and I love those 3 witches on your table. It was nice last week, Hubby was on vacation. We had lots to do so we did not go anywhere. I love the fall and can't wait to get out and enjoy it.

Hello! So glad you got some rain! Your meals look delicious. This is my favorite time of year...the decor, the baking, and the beauty all around! The little ones are precious enjoying the season too! Have a cozy evening, my friend.

I love fall. The smells, the colors.
That coffee sounds good. We just changed our coffee brand a couple of months ago and are enjoying it.

I love fall. I hope you got enough rain to put the fires out. I find I am desiring more good clean foods too right now. Your daughter has the patience of a saint to let Mia paint herself in flour - I could not do that. Francesca is doing a good job too. What kind or brand of coffee? Sandie

That Mia! What a cutie! What a blessing that you had some rain, although it wasn’t very much. I love the look of that broccoli in your pan. Is that a stir-fry? Interesting display just out in the open; must have some sort of special significance to whomever placed it there. Enjoy the change of seasons where you are!

Oh yes, those orange pumpkins make me smile too. It is wonderful to see rain after dry times, and I hope you get more to quench the fires. That is a very clever capture of Autumn in your mirror, you are a real talent with the camera Sheri. And now I have enjoyed seeing your healthy dinner, I am inspired to go off and bake a cake. Yum!

I love cooking at any time of the year, but I do agree that it does feel extra comforting and rewarding in the fall - I adore the smell of butternut squash and sweet potato roasting in the oven, the most beautiful association to the fall season for me. <3

Hello dear Sheri!

You have more autumn color than we do!

It was like summer just a few days ago but on Sunday morning, it started to feel like fall is attempting to descend on us here.

LOVE that rear view mirror shot!

Wow! I love the view from your rear view mirror! How amazing. We are still in summer mode here but I won't complain, it's not quite as hot! Love the little baker and the healthy meal too....oh and good coffee! Hugs!

Lovely photos! How strange to see that balloon arch in a field! I think my very favorite photo is the one where you framed the scene in your side mirror! What a wonderful shot. And the rain - what a blessing, even if scant!

On the contrary, we're getting to much rain over here on our side of the pond!

A most enjoyable post. Love the photos.

HI Sheri, it's been many months since I've been by. I took a very long blog/social media break, which was good for me. I still wrote a blog, but it was private, up until about a month ago, when I decided to return to the blogging world. I missed it too much to stay away forever!

I know what you mean about the rain. We had a bit last week too (Boise), and I think that was the first drop of moisture we've had since May. Summer is always like that here---dry, dry, dry! In fact, because of the drought conditions, our irrigation water is being shut off today, a whole month early. The season runs from April 15th to October 15th, but this year, they are turning off a month early.

So sweet that the little ones are helping their moms!

Blessings,
Patti

I do hope the rain helped and sure hope you get more. Love all those balloons!

And there is nothing better than a pile of pumpkins.

also I often find rear view mirror images wonderful. sort of like when you are a kid and swinging and hang your head back and look at the world upside down. It seems more wonderful somehow.

Thank God for the rain! I hope He brings you more of it. Love all the fall touches and that spice cake, yum. I have not decorated for fall yet. Why, I don't know. Better start or it'll pass me by! Mia is a doll. Love her child-like wonder. May we all seek to see things as through a child's eyes. Take care, Sheri. 💖🍁🍃🍂

Autumn cooking makes your tummy happy. Your grands are so sweet. Love that they helped you decorate. The balloons in the field were intriguing. Wonder what the backstory was? i hope you find the perfect pumpkin for your porch. I've been scouting one out too. seeing them brightens your day.

I was somewhere the other day and saw the BIGGEST pumpkins. A tad early yet for our heat to get one. I bought a couple of large ones and a few small last yr but I am not sure I will even do that this yr. I used to decorate the yard but a couple of yrs ago I took it all down and gave it to my daughter. I kept a few pieces but the challenge is getting it put back up once I am done. Those two girls are just adorable. I have been craving soup, I normally don't make any in the warmer months but with fall on my mind it is making me want to cook some. I did notice yesterday that the leaves are starting to get a yellow tint to him. Then comes the color. We have had so much rain that I hope that brings us some great color. Course if it does I will be showing you all pics of TN fall. I loved the pic of little one throwing up the leaves.

Sheri love your autumn photo in your rearview mirror. Our colors are primarily still green but it won't be long until we see yellows, reds and oranges. Yes it is time to get those pumpkins out for decorating. Mia looks like she had so much fun helping bake. Your misty rose photos are lovely too. Wish I could stop and share that smooth cup of coffee with you...I'd bring some zucchini bread for us too. Ah we will just have to enjoy each other's company via the internet. Have a great day sweet friend. Hugs!
