Heating And Cooling Unit

I got a new heating and cooling unit for the house a couple weeks ago.  Many of the neighbors in the mountains don't have air conditioning because the Summers are usually mild and only get a couple weeks of warm weather, but this one was unusually hot, in the 100's.  So, I was so thankful to get a cooling unit in my house.  I heard we are supposed to get a lot of snow this Winter, so I will be toasty warm with the heater too.  My brother had it installed, and I appreciate it very much.  I had to be gone all day while it was being worked on, so I spent most of the time downtown.  I went to my church and had a nice chat with the Priest.  He gave me Communion, and that was so special and filled me with peace.  I had some fried chicken for lunch, and went over to Rite Aid to get a pistachio ice cream cone.  I had an hour left, so I went to the grocery store and then back home.  It was hot that day so was relieved to have cool air in my house.  Here are a few pictures I took around town while waiting for the workers to finish.

I have decorated for Fall already.  And it was fun this year cause I got to put everything in a new place here in the mountains.  Since the kitchen window is one of my favorite spots in the house, I put the glass pumpkin that my sister-in-law gave me on the window sill, and it was so pretty when the sun was shining through.

I love blues around Fall too.

I've had this collection for many years, and gave all of them away, but two.  I kept this one because I guess I liked the orange pumpkin.  ; )

Always put this book out cause it makes me smile.

My glittery pumpkin looks like it has wings sitting on the bird table.

Even my garden rose looks like Fall.

And one through the window.

Washed all my Fall cups and they're ready for coffee.

Nel and Jess like to decorate for Fall too, and I'll show you some pictures next week.  My mom had a molcajete in her kitchen when I was growing up.  Jess wanted one also, so a few years ago I found one and bought it for her.  Isn't this a cute idea that she put the pumpkins in the molcajete?

Every Fall I put this picture out because we are all together at our favorite place in northern California, Apple Hill.  This was also taken in Autumn.

Fall is coming early here in the mountains, and the days are getting cooler.  I'm ready for soups and hot drinks, how 'bout you?

Wishing you sweet September days.

I love Princess Sassy Pants...don't you? And the new system will make your home so much nicer for all seasons. I love your pretty decorations. Maybe that's what I should be doing today...decorating! Sweet hugs!

Happy September, Sheri!
Congratulations on the new cooler and heating unit. Soup and bread with a slather of real butter is a treat for the first day of autumn. Looking at your cups, I need a plaid mug.
Lovely decorations. The pumpkin with wings is so cute.
This year petunias have been the best flowering of all the flowers in the yard. The wagon in your downtown is beautiful.

Hi Sheri, what a lovely post. I enjoyed all of your fall pics. I'm glad you were able to get a cooling/heating unit installed in your new place. My little room ac is keeping this little cottage comfortable and I am so thankful for it. It has been and still is terribly hot and humid here and it always feels good to come into the cool house after being outside working. Don't know when we'll get cooler weather. It doesn't usually happen until Oct/Nov if we're lucky. Enjoy your week ~ FlowerLady

What a day you had, both nice and exciting! And your decorating, WOW, I LOVE this post! I never thought of blue for fall, but it works so well! Our kitchen is blue, and I should have done this. I do have some tea-towels with blue pumpkins on them. Which one are you in the picture? Are you wearing the dark red? Your around town pictures are gorgeous, especially the wagon full of petunias. And this looks like one determined kitty! He looks a bit grumpy, like he has not had his morning catnip yet. Your blue and white runner with the pumkkin on a plate is gorgeous, like something I would find in House Beautiful magazine! And I love your bird table. I have some of our fall mugs on display in a cornew kitchen shelf that looks like yours! I have ordered a small mug rack to put them on, so I can free up the shelf space. I will be posting one of my fall decorations tonight, then do the rest a bit later. You have awesome decorating talent.

What beautiful photos! I loved that wagon of flowers and your pumpkins and decorating are lovely. I haven't done that yet -- I really need to do something here in the cottage. I might have to see what I can find at Dollar Tree, as I don't want to spend a whole lot for a spot where I'm not present all that much in the fall!

I'm glad you got a new cooling/heating unit. I think you'll be thanking yourself for that for many moons to come!

That wagon stole my heart. Your pictures are lovely and love the blues. I love the comfort of climate controlled air, also.

How wonderful that you have a new cooling and heating unit! Yay! Where we are, it would be stifling without air conditioning! Love these pictures around town, plus the autumn decor you’ve added. Happy fall!

Hi Sheri,
So happy you got a heating/AC unit. It will be so nice. I woke up this morning and I could see blue sky, but now it is smoky again. I am so ready for fall and crisp clean air! I haven't decorated yet for the fall so it was so nice to see your decorations! They look so cheerful! Enjoy your week!

I think the new heating and air unit was a good investment in your own comfort.

Everything looks so nice and pretty. I hope to start decorating for the fall sometime this week. Still not cold here yet but it is coolish in the early morning - around 57 this morning. But back up to 100 by this afternoon.

Will it ever be over???

PS. I know Apple Hill. I haven't been for a few years.

Sheri, your photos are always so inviting. I love the first picture of the wagon of petunias! Just beautiful. It's great you have a new heat/ac system. It is so hot and humid here, I can't imagine life without it, though I grew up without a/c. All of your autumnal touches make your home look so cozy and inviting. What a wonderful picture of your family! Happy September, Sheri!

I haven't thought of fall yet or gotten fall decorations out. We do have 3 pumpkins from the garden sitting on the porch, but that is it.
I love, love your decorations and I think I must soon look for mine.
My cousin loves going to Apple Hill too.
Your first picture of the flowers in the wagon is so pretty.
Your garden rose is just lovely too.

It's nice to see all the pumpkins around for autumn! :) You decorate well! We only decorate the house for Christmas really! It's nice you got the heater and cooling unit as well so you can keep things at a nice temperature all year.

Hope your week is off to a great start :)

Hi Sheri, I am so happy your brother installed heat and ac for you. I remember visiting CA with my parents long ago and the hotels did not have heat and it was a very cool spring. We were cold! I have noticed the days are cooler and I look forward to soups and hot chocolate in pretty autumn mugs. Karen and her son gave me a falll leaf wreath that. I hung in my kitchen, I love your glass pumpkin in your kitchen window and the other one on your bird table with the wings! Lovely autumn family photo of you all. Enjoy the beginnning of the autumn season, ❤️🍁🍂

Good morning sweet Sheri!

I LOVE FALL. The return to a sense of coziness and shelter, refuge and preparing for a dormant period, it all feels so good.

Enjoy this lovely season in your new home and with the hope of time of peace.

Oh Sheri, how I love the Fall in North America - everything about it is appealing. Your glass pumpkin in the window is just gorgeous - and all the others look so pretty too. The peachy coloured roses are perfect for the season. Isn't that wagon with the pink flowers fabulous - I would like that in my front yard :)

Now I am inspired to put some decorations out, too. Your house just looks so pretty. I really love your "winged" glittery pumpkin! And how wonderful that you got a new HVAC system. That will save so much trouble and money for you. What a prince of a brother you have! Thank you for sharing such interesting photos from your time waiting for the workmen to finish. I bet that pisachio ice cream cone was good!

Good Afternoon Sheri!
The mountains agree with you so beautifully! I love seeing you engulfed by your family and you wearing plaid with your arms full of precious grands.
Your area is so lovely Sheri and all the sweet Fall touches to your home are just so inspiring, thoughtful, gentle and soothing.
Happy September to you dear one.

Thank you for this taste of fall, Sheri. Love all your sweet fall touches around the house. Taking Communion from your priest sounds quite special. Partaking of the Source of Life keeps things in their proper perspective, doesn't it? Hope you have a lovely evening, my friend. 💖

You certainly got a lot more hot days this summer than we did. Good thing you have cooling now, it makes it much more bearable. Our summer has been rather mellow so far with a lot of morning fog which I really like. It's supposed to be a La Niña year, so I guess the snow forecast is correct. It also means that our area won't get much rain in the winter which truly sucks.

I love, love, love all your photos, especially the pumpkins.

Yay for the new cooling and heating unit!

Happy Wednesday!

Dearest Sheri - your post and photos were wonderful. You have me thinking I need to put out some of my fall decorations as well. There is something so cozy about the coming season. Looking forward to hot cider in the evenings and curling up with a good book. How about you?

Hope your winter will not be bad but at least it looks like you are going to be ready.

Take care friend and have a delightful weekend. Hugs!

FALL....I LOVE IT. I am so ready for it. The temps have been changing the last couple of weeks while I was having air condition trouble, till it got fixed but it was nice with the fans running and the humidity down. I have managed to put out two things of fall flowers and a front door decor but that is it...so far. We will see if I do anything else. I am hoping for a pretty fall here. With the amount of rain we have had it should be a nice one. Just wished that fall would last as long as summer. Take care Sheri and enjoy your fall coming in at the mountain.
