White Fence

I was so glad to have my fence painted white.  When I moved here it was Winter and had to wait until Spring, and then had to wait for the Painter cause he was busy with previous projects he was working on.  He did a nice job, and I like that the boards are fat ones and not skinny.  He first pressure washed all the fence, then scraped off all the old and chipped paint, then repaired the broken latch on one of the gates.  Then, he began the painting.  It's a long fence area in the front of my yard, and I'm relieved it's done.  I think it looks good.

I'm not sure what the story is, but when the previous lady lived here, part of the fence was painted, and the other half was not.

I have to admit that it was bugging me, cause I wanted the whole thing completed.  I guess I was impatient, but it's nice looking out my window now and seeing the birds land on my newly painted white fence.  Doesn't this Quail look pregnant.  : )

My brother said that he would put grass in at some point if I wanted, which was so generous, but the water usage would be enormous living on a big corner lot, and we don't have water to waste, as it hardly rained at all this year.  I will groom my flower beds and plants and wash down the walkways, but I kind of like the woodsy look in my front yard.  After all, I live in the mountains now.

Well, I won't leave you with a boring white fence, so here's a few happy pics.

I've had a little Christmas lately with some Peppermint tea.  So good.

A Robin came to visit me one day.

Strawberry cake

Mia enjoying the Summer days with her crab float and pool and ice cream!

We have the biggest Dandelions here in the mountains.

And the dandelion does not stop growing because it is told it is a weed.  The dandelion does not care what others see.  It says, "One day, they'll be making wishes upon me."

Can't believe it's almost July.  I'm wondering what kind of things they will have up here to celebrate the 4th.

The fence looks so nice. I'm like you...I would have been bothered by it being half done! Hope you have a good week!

Congratulations on your painted fence! It looks nice. It is especially food to read how well the painter prepares the fence first. He's really thorough. Ground cover sounds better than grass, less water and bother.

I forget sometimes that you are a mountain girl now. They used to call us Ridgerunners-lol. We lived on top of the mountain and could see 7 counties from our farm house.
The fence looks great and I love the wide boards. It is fresh and clean looking. Enjoy it!!!!
Have a wonderful 4th of July- xo Diana

Great photos Sheri and I love your fence all painted white, it really looks great. I agree with you leaving your yard woodsy, who wants to be bothered with grass especially with the water/rain situation there. That is the fattest little quail I've ever seen! Have a wonderful week my friend. :)

I love your white fence! It looks so nice and clean! Everything looks better on a painted fence! That quail is so big! She must have a lot of yummy food to eat! Having no lawn means no mowing! I am sure that is a relief as well! Soon it will be Fall and then Winter and this year we will get a lot of rain and snow! Mia is a doll! You are such a blessed Grandma!

Dear Sheri, such a cheerful sunny post. Your picket fence is lovely, and I like the wide boards too. (I also have a white picket fence :)
The Quail is a funny bird isn't it - I wonder what she is doing. I do love a red robin, they always look like Christmas, and how special to have it visit. Happy 4th July this weekend.

I love your white fence. I would love one, but we have a chain link fence around the property and a huge privacy one in the back yard. Maybe the next house. Mia is so cute. I wished mine were still little. My Hubby loves strawberries and we will be having some this weekend.

Oh, what a precious post! Glad I finally made it around to read it and marvel at the pictures! Your fence looks wonderful painted white. So clean and neat! And I agree 100% about leaving your yard "woodsy." That's what I'm doing here, but every danged week someone is knocking on my door and asking if I want to hire them to get the pine needles off my yard. NO! I want it ALL pine needles! I will BUY some pine needles, if any are for sale, LOL! What yummy pics you left us with. I will take a piece of that strawberry cake, please! Thank you!

Hi Sheri, thanks for your visit and kind comments! I see quite a few of my follwers here in your comment section. Your rose header is so gorgeous, it just really pops out when you first see it. Blogger is getting rid of all the headers, so I don't have mine anymore. I used to change them with each post. This is a gorgeous quail photo! I love peppermint tea, and have a few different mixes. Love your fence!! The fences around hereare just unpainted wood, and they drive me nuts!

I love your fence. I bet the plant was crowding the fence and the original painter could not get to the fence to paint! That is one plump quail! So happy you live in the mountains now and yes, I would just enjoy the natural wooded lot and not have to maintain grass. Hope you have a nice holiday.

I kinda like your white fence, far from boring ♥ Oh even the birds like it.
Love me some tea too. Mia is looking great as she grows up.
The tree pic is lovely with that sunlight. And I love dandelions, I used to
chase and catch them when I was a kid and make wishes then blow it gently as if sending my wishes to the world...I didn't know it is a weed.

Stay safe and happy Sheri ♥

Good morning Sheri! Lovely morn here in TN. Rain last night has dampnest and water droplets on things. It is a nice 72 degrees with a high of 82. YAY...no humdity. That is what does us in here in TN..the humdity. Weekend supposed to be nice. Loving your fence. I have a chain link fence around part of the back yard for the dogs. Mom did that many years ago cause she always loved having furs. Its nice with Chey. She is a wander and if she gets out you have a hard time chasing her down. Then to get her back up the hill, at her weigh, my lack of strength....a challenge to carry her....oops, sorry, I totally got off your blog here! Chey wanders as does my mind!! I know that Calif. is looking at a rough time with the drought that seems to landing on you once again. I keep my flowerbeds close to the houseand FEWER then ever but not cause I don't wish to pull the hose around to water but cause these days, its just easier on me. Water is not an issue here. Although we had a week or more of no rain and my yard was showing it but it is nice to not have to worry about cutting as often. I love the looks of your mountain retreat. Enjoy a nice stroll through the trees for me.

Sheri - a white picket fence is a favorite of mine. I adore yours. I can see all those lovely roses climbing and tumbling over it. Pray you get rain. I know I have been reading about the record high temps and for your area to not have rain is so unusual. The woodsy look is just perfect to my humble opinion. Always say the Lord knows how to grow things and make them beautiful so for the most part we just assist a bit but I am not sure we need too!! :)
Have a wonderful fourth of July. Hugs!
