Lucille's

This week, Nel ordered many dishes from one of our favorite restaurants, Lucille's.   I'm not sure if you have a Lucille's Smokehouse BBQ in your state, but it sure is good.  For her brother's birthday, she ordered barbecued ribs, brisket, mashed potatoes, baked beans, mac and cheese, coleslaw, and their famous biscuits with apple butter.  I don't have any pictures of the food, cause when you eat Lucille's, there's no time to waste.  ; )

After we cleared the dishes, we had a piece of strawberry cake that I made and coffee.  Nel has a little space in her kitchen with a coffee tray.  She's had these cups and saucers for years, and I've always liked them - they are just the right size to enjoy coffee.

Nel's dog, Ozzie, who is very old.
He's just relaxing after a bath and a hair cut
at the pet shop.

Remember these?

Nel's new tea pot

I think it's wonderful that Nel treats herself to flowers often, and it brightens up the house.  She buys them at Trader Joe's which has a great selection.  After planting my red roses in my back yard, I guess she wanted some too.

This little one was having fun and laughing
while her uncle read her the book,
The Berenstain Bears Around the World.

I am constantly looking at Nel's unique items around her house when I go over there.  I liked this frog so much, that she ordered me one just like it.  This fellow is from Disney's, Princess and the Frog.

It was a really nice day,
and Nel made it special for her brother.
Do you have a Lucille's in your area?

We do not have a Lucille's here but I wish they did. I would love good BBQ.

The frog reminds me of my sister, believing you have to kiss a lot of frogs before the handsome prince comes along, she named her farm Frog Hollow.

No Lucille's here but we have Center Point Barbecue, a local favorite for decades. They do all of that except no biscuits. Ozzie looks like a gentleman and the little one is a doll! I love it when they fall in love with books early.

That teapot is beautiful!

We don't have a Lucille's either. Wonder if it is a local BBQ and not a chain.
Happy birthday to your son - that cake looked good with a nice cup of coffee. Ozzie got a haircut? Disco is older too. I love Trader Joe's and they do have beautiful flowers. I remember tootsie rolls too - can't say I ever cared for them tho. Love the princess and the frog! Sandie♥

Good day my dear Sheri!

I check my blog roll every morning but didn't see your new post until now. It's always so good to see you !

I have never heard of Lucille's but I'm sure it is a great place to get a memorable, already prepared meal! I find myself cooking more these days as I am now more relaxed, knowing that my home will always be my workplace...I am retired now!

May your day be filled with roses and sunshine my friend.

Your cake looks delicious. No we don't have that restaurant here, but there are other ones that are very good. I haven't had barbecue from a restaurant for months. Yummm! How nice to be able to get together with Nel and family. Yes, I remember Tootsie Pops! Nice coffee tray too.

We don't have a Lucille's here. My husband is the BBQ guy and smokin guy. Usually anything like that he does. Always yummy. Looks like the party was a lot of fun. The little frog is adorable. The coffee tray and tea pot is really nice too!
Love Ozzie! My dog Jack is 16! He can't see or hear, but he smells perfectly! He is a lot of work as he has gotten older, but he is my best friend.

As far as I know, there are no Lucille's restaurants in Australia. But I do have a sister called Lucille! I like Nel's coffee cups and saucers, they are just the right size, and the strawberry cake looks yummy too. What a sweet green frog she bought for you. Have a good week Sheri.

You have such a beautiful family! Love seeing the children's book! And no we don't have one of those BBQ places but we have a Hardwood Smokehouse that we LOVE! We buy beef brisket by the pound from them and freeze it in portions to have meals later on. Sounds good right now! Hugs!

We don't have a Lucille's here, at least not that I know of. We don't go out often anyway (and don't often order food either), but when we do we usually visit locally owned restaurants and try to avoid the chains.
Your little granddaughter is adorable, and I like those coffee cups!
