Secret Garden

This weekend, we made a trip to the beautiful Filoli Historic House and Garden, located near San Francisco.

Tucked away in the rolling green hills of the Bay Area is the Filoli Estate.

The public can tour parts of the mansion, including the ballroom, kitchens, and library.

My favorite was the library, of course.

The gardens were gorgeous.

I felt like I was exploring an enchanting, secret garden!

We bought some preserves at the garden gift shop. I'm looking forward to enjoying them with fresh bread and coffee in the morning.

I love the blend of people and nature, of architecture and landscape.

I used to live near the Filoli Mansion. Every season we would go and look at the gardens. It's beautiful during Christmas.

I also once filmed an ATT commercial on the grounds back in the early 90's. I didn't think anybody even knew about the place except for the locals.

You forgot to mention the TV series DYNASTY was filed there in part.

What a gorgeous place! The garden is swoon worthy. You had such a lovely day to enjoy the outdoors. I love the opening to the walled garden. So secretive and inviting. The inside is certainly grand. I love peeking at the titles in the library. Thanks for sharing such a beautiful place, Jess. ♥

A friend of mine volunteered there when she lived in the Bay area and said it was glorious. Your pictures only add to that, Jess.

The gardens are lovely. How wonderful to have the opportunity to go inside part of the mansion. I have never been here, but now I would love visiting. I think I have a general idea of the location, as I once upon a time lived in the Bay area. How I would taking a swim in that pool too.
