Breakfast, My Favorite Meal Of The Day

I met my son for breakfast last week.  My family has always loved this place, and it has an atmosphere of a French inspired café.  It is called Mimi's Café, and they have many located in different areas all around California.  I've always wanted to take pictures inside, as I think it would be nice to have a kitchen in this style.  Here's the outside and you will notice all the flower pots gracing the window sills.

The coffee is so good,

and so are the carrot raisin muffins.

Old phones
old clocks
and old record players

Charming brick,
which reminds me of my mom's house.

I loved this blue tile in the other room

And the best part, the company.  : )

What an adorable little place! And you just HAD to show that muffin with the butter melting on it, didn't you? Now that's all I can think of . . . thanks haha!

Oh Sheri, I used to LOVE Mimi's when we lived in Arizona. How I wish we had one in the east. So happy you could go with your son. Hope your day and the entire week are wonderful. Susan

I LOVE breakfast and also Mimi's! Sad to say that I a couple of months ago, I was going to meet my out-of-town friend at our Mimi's for lunch at a mall that I infrequently go to. Well, I looked all around, thinking I had just forgotten where it was. I then realized it was GONE and replaced by a Mexican restaurant! I WAS SO UPSET! They have the best muffins. Oh well....

what a wonderful way to start your day. A step back in time to let the time stand still before you have to face the day.

I love Mimi's and have one close to me. Sign up to be on there email and you will get discounts on meals , muffins, etc.

There for a while the food wasn't so good, so I stopped, but a couple months ago started back up and I haven't been disappointed at all. I go there normally for lunch and my friend loves it also. Haven't been there for breakfast for a very long time.

Have a terrific week and how great to have breakfast with your son.

Hugs,
Mary

Breakfast is my favorite meal of the day too, Sheri! I'd love to find a place like Mimi's here. I'm trying to figure out what the dish is with the avocado on top, an omelette? Oh that muffin looks wonderful! And the company is what makes the very best breakfasts.

Sheri, it's so nice that you enjoyed breakfast with your son. We used to have Mimi's here, but unfortunately it closed. Their food was really good, even though I never had breakfast there. So many cute decorations at your cafe'.
Breakfast out is a great way to start the day. I hope you are have a lovely week. ♥

What a pretty little café, I like the stripe awnings and the flower pots outside. The blue vase inside is too cute to ignore. Simple things in life are always the best and of course the company which you mentioned at the end. Always find your post entertaining dear!

Hello Sheri,
thanks for visiting my blog. I add you already on my blog list. Wondering what parts of Germany your daughter has seen? I live in the Northern part of Bavaria, called Franconia. With so famous cities like Nuremberg, Wuerzburg or Bamberg.
My husband actually comes from Chicago, but he lives in Germany since we are married. And now some weeks ago my 20-year-old son moved to Chicago.

I love your blog and all the Californian impressions I can see there.
When I travel to the US I always enjoy this tradition to have breakfast outside. Not typical for Germany. Here we have coffee & cake time in the afternoon. Homemade cake of course. Maybe you know.

Wish you a wonderful new week
Greetings from Franconia
Sigrid
