Our blog friends always see
the things that us three
have in common, but I thought
you might like to hear
the things we don't have in common,
and
the different tastes we have.
* Nel and Jess love scarves
I'm a free spirit and don't like anything confining
my neck, so I don't like to wear scarves, or even
turtle necks or high-neck shirts
* Me and Jess love to bake
Nel loves to cook, and she makes scrumptious
dishes
dishes
* Nel and Jess wear purses and handbags
I usually just take my wallet everywhere I go
I usually just take my wallet everywhere I go
* Me and Jess love shopping and browsing
Nel is a quick shopper
* Me and Nel like to take naps
Jess does not take naps (except when she's really
exhausted).
* Nel and Jess wear lots of jewelry
I don't wear that much jewelry, maybe a cool
bracelet or earrings now and then
* Me and Jess are careful with money, and
"bargain shoppers"
"bargain shoppers"
Nel is generous and a free spender
* Nel and Jess love to walk and run
Brutal exercise isn't my favorite thing : )
(although I do like to walk the trails)
(although I do like to walk the trails)
* Me and Nel don't mind re-gifting
Jess doesn't want to have anything to do with
that
* Me and Jess are drawn to bright, bold colors.
Nel is drawn to earth tones
* Nel and Jess wear coats in the winter
Coats are too heavy for me, and I'll just wear a
nice sweater
* Nel and Jess love to travel
I don't like travel much and always miss home
when I do
* Me and Jess have a sweet tooth
Nel has a "savory/salty" tooth
* Nel and Jess enjoy a glass of wine at night
I love a hot cup of tea
* Me and Jess like milk chocolate and dark
Nel likes white chocolate
* Nel and Jess love the ocean
I love the mountains, woods, and forest
* Me and Jess don't like to eat a lot of meat
Nel used to be a vegetarian, but now she likes
meat
* Nel and Jess love summers because they're
teachers
Summers are not my favorite because of the heat
* Nel and Jess like to wear perfume
My natural scent is perfume enough for me ; )
(although I do collect perfume bottles)
So, you see, my friends,
we're very much alike
BUT
at the same time,
very much not alike.

Too funny! That took a lot of time and thought to think through each of those things! I love that picture at the end of the post too. I have identical twin daughters who are 26 and while they are alike in so many ways, they definitely DO have their differences. But even my husband and I have trouble telling them apart sometimes!
HAHA.....each their own! It is cool that your girls are like you in some ways but even cooler that they are their own person. I do not like coats either. I have a long sweater (black, my fav color) that I wear all winter. I have hopes it still fits after losing 63 lbs but if not, even though I am not a free spender, I will go find another one! I love to shop....in the sense of just walking around looking. That helps me to get the only exercise I get, like you, not brutal! haha. When I was working I wore scarves, hanging or tied really lose, nothing tight around the neck and I love my jewelry, probably should not say this here but I used to tell my sis in law I was a jewelry whore! When I enter a store, I head to the jewelry. I look now and don't buy since I am retired and I have no call for all that now. But when I do dress to go somewhere special ....and I put on make up I wear my earrings, bracelets, necklaces and rings...I alway have my toe ring and ankle bracelets on! Thanks for sharing. I love the painting that you have posted on your blog. That is adorable.
Fun to hear how you and your girls are alike AND different! Enjoy the last bit of summer before Fall that we love so much ...
XOXO
Different, and yet the same- it's nice to share traits, but also have a few things that make us unique. Have a great day!
Fun to read, thanks for sharing.
All the best Jan
Great post Sheri. It's always interesting to see all the things in common and likes and dislikes.
Enjoy your weekend and stay cool. We are having extreme heat wave and with my COPD I'm not going out much as it's to hard to breath. So maybe I will start decorating for Fall.
Hugs,
Mary
Hi, Sheri, checking to see what's new.
Good start to the month of September.

Sheri, I love the print at the end. I loved the differences and similarities . That makes all of you special. Some times I wonder who my children are...then other times it's like we are just alike. But I am ever so thankful that my girls have good hearts. :):) Blessings, xoxo, love you, Susie
What a lovely post......from three lovely ladies....love love love ❤️❤️❤️Ria
Love the painting!
Love this post Sheri! This kinda puts me in the mind of me and my mom. We're alike but we're not alike in so many ways lol!
Reminds me of my daughter's three daughters, with the long braids, but also the differences and similarities. You all seem to enjoy each other very much.
Sheri, I love the uniqueness of each of you. It's nice to read all the different ways you are different or alike. The sweetness of the closeness you share with your daughters is lovely to read, my friend. ♥
Awe that's so neat how much you are alike, yet different. I love the painting it reminds me of my 2 daughters and my niece... a redhead, a blonde and a brunette and all 3 are very close. Thanks for sharing! Enjoy the rest of your week.
blessings,
Jill
What fun comparisons.
what fun this was seeing the similarities and the differences betwwen you and your girls. scarves bother me too.
How wonderful you do the blog with your daughters!!
Fun to read your differences, and then see the beautiful picture of the three women, in different colored dresses, yet all tied together in a three cord braid!
What a GREAT collection of thoughts here, Sheri...:)JP
Hello Sheri,
Wishing you a great end of the summer my friend. It's almost over, this month and I hope that the future will be good to all. Much love!
I liked reading this.
I think you three admit differences each other with respect, because of this you are able to enjoy COMMON. I enjoyed your post.
Love this. I often look at Greg and Kevin and think "how did these two wildly different humans come from the same people?" And yet, there's a fierce love there -- combined with exasperation and frustration and all those family things. I love it that there are some things you share with one daughter and not the other and vice versa. It makes it extra special for the one on one!
I'm glad to see you again for my blog, your post is very interesting!!!!kiss
👌👌👌💚💚💚
Such a fun post! :) So many interesting observations. (Perhaps I want to study a little bit the differences and similarities in our family now...)
Your climate must be very pleasant, if you can survive the winter wearing only a sweater. Here you would feel really cold. :)
Doesn't any of you like dark chocolate?
Wishing you all a beautiful and happy September! xx
Hello Sheri:)
So lovely post!
Here is autumn comming, september is the first mount, but I love autumn so it is ok:)
Have a nice weekend:)
Sheri, this was a real fun read...loved hearing the likes and dislikes of the three of you.
Hi Sheri, I have two daughters and it is amazing how different they are in some ways, but alike in so many others. Don't you just love their uniqueness? I recognized myself in so many of your likes and dislikes, too. When you said you don't like scarfs and don't like to travel and love the woods and mountains. Your girls sound so much like mine, too. The painting is wonderful and isn't it so special to be the one in the middle? Only a Mom would know all the little idiosyncrasies of each daughter. Sometimes we know them better than they know themselves! Sending hugs to you xo Karen
Dear Sheri, what a clever post, and it must have taken quite a while to work all those things out! Our three children all have quite individual tastes too, but it is lovely to see the interconnections. I think my oldest grandson is more like me than any of my three children :) Naturally, that charms this granny very much indeed!
I am am so glad you shared this Sheri!
I really enjoyed knowing three of you little more .
i am nature lover too ,quick shopper with no bargain.
i too like tea .
you sounds little like tom boy ,i am saying so because i used to hate wearing scarves and got this name as epithet .
though you guys are so different yet you all have wonderful talent to write such beautiful blog my friend!
What a fun post. Being the newbie here, I now know more about you. Hope to learn even more.
