We stopped early in the morning at a nice European bakery called Ettore's. There were so many goodies, I didn't know what to choose.
Driving through mid-town, there is a neighborhood called "the fabulous 40's." The houses are so nice and groomed, and I thought this landscaped yard with tulips was pretty.
A friend of red rose alley.
The State Capitol is grand, and I love to see it every time we are in the area.
The door and statues on the front of the building are beautiful.
And the grounds are green and groomed with lovely flowers all around.

Sheri, that one rose that looks like a PEPPERMINT twist! Oh, the perfume of it must be outrageous! And the 40s neighborhood must be beautiful as well. The white brick cottage is just my style! I cannot wait to get out to Carmel with my camera. Enjoy your Sunday dear friend! Anita
OH my! Just look at that red velvet treat, with the red rose on top!!!!

Just what I needed today, a trip of elegance.
Starting with beautiful gateaux to appease my sugar fix, then the beauties adorning the State Capital building and finishing with beautiful Camellias & I didn't have to leave my armchair.
Lovely post for a grey drizzly Sunday.
Happy new week sheri....love from me Ria..x?

My grandparents lived in Sacramento for many, many years. a beautiful place for sure. Love all the wonderful pics and pretty flowers. But I will be dreaming about having a piece of that scrumptious red velvet cake.

So glad you had fun and enjoyed it. Lovely how in a couple of weeks world, and nature mainly, become full of color and alive. And I'm so happy to see beyond my nook of the woods through your amazing photos.
Enjoy Spring Dear Friend. Enjoy the Holy Week!

Hello Sheri dear,
I love this post about our hometown! Your images are just as beautiful as always. You've captured the vibe of mid-town and downtown perfectly. It's been quite awhile since I've been to the Fabulous 40's so what a treat to revisit via your blog. Ettores!! A family favorite and centerpiece of many, many celebrations (aka the cake). Delicious post!
xx, Heather

Hi Sheri,
A goal of ours is to visit every state capitol with our boys. I know we will not make it. Maybe I will have your amazing tour count for California. :-) Beautiful photos!
