A Cup Of Coffee With An Old Friend

I had coffee with my friend, Laura, today.  While we visited, we caught up on each other's lives and what we've been doing.  Now, this little visit wasn't just an ordinary one; it was a special one, and here is why.  Our mothers used to be good friends, and while they sat and chatted years ago, me and Laura would run around and play for hours.  She was making me laugh today while she told me all the memories she had of us growing up - things which I had forgotten.  Who would have thought that years later, we would be sharing that same cup of coffee and conversation that our dear mothers had so many years ago?  My friend is a funny, strong, enthusiastic woman who I hope to see again soon.

Laura sells jewelry, and she gave these lovely pieces to me as a gift.  This ring is a replica of the one that Princess Di wore.  I've always loved it.

I thought this pair of black vintage earrings were so unique.

Thank you, Laura, I appreciate the pretty jewelry you gave me.

"Let us be grateful to people who make us happy: they are the charming gardeners who make our souls blossom." ~Marcel Proust

Isn't it nice to catch up with old friends?

I'm glad you and Laura had a lovely visit. It's not often that you can share conversations that go back to when you and her mom were friends.

She makes gorgeous jewelry. I know you must feel very lucky to have a friend like her!

It sure is nice to catch up with old friends. I have a special friend like that too. Her name is Lucie. We were next door neibours from the age of 10. She and I celebrated our 56 th birthdays, but apart. She lives in Palm Desert, CA.
She always says I remember things that she has forgotten. I told her when she has Alzheimer's i will be able to say anything I want.
Lovely jewelry gf. She is a good friend.

Hi Sheri,
Beautiful and touching post. It's those little simple moments that we share with those we love that are so precious.
It's so wonderful to have a friend that you can simply sit and have a cup of coffee with and feel cozy and comfie; I have 4 sisters and we all live all over the place...when we do get a chance to get together, and just laugh and talk, I realize how sweet and fleeting those simple moments are in life...
they're what really matter.
Have a beautiful week,
Jenah xo

I have two of those rings! I go them when they were on TV. Everyone calls it the "Kate Middleton' ring, but to me, it will always be Di's.

Hi Sheri, how nice to share a cup with an old friend. I am not a coffee drinker, but my mom and married sister as well as a neighbor or two would share a cup almost every morning when I was growing up. Still love the smell of coffee brewing to this day. Your jewelry is lovely. I have that same red bird plate. What great taste you have. lol!
Hugs,
Jann

Sheri, thanks for your easter wishes! It is really a chalkboard egg, I bought a polystyrene egg and put chalkboard color on it - very easy :-). The jewelry is beautiful, especially the ring (I was a great fan of Lady Di :-)).
Have a nice easter time with your family! See you, Barbara
