Fourth Of July Hutch

One of the best purchases I made was the white hutch that stands in the corner of my house.  I love decorating it for the holidays and seasons that come around.  My pulled neck muscle feels better, but my neck is still stiff and sore, so I rested last week, and I thought it would be a good time to decorate my hutch for the 4th of July.  I don't have a lot of stuff for this holiday, as I gave many things away in the moves - three moves in six years (awful, but each move gave me some special moments that I will always remember).  So, here is my hutch that's not too cluttered, just festive enough for the 4th. 🎇🎇🎇

I found this little 4th of July girl at Hobby Lobby this year.

A few other items.

And I can't forget to put out my 'All American' Troll that I've had since my childhood.  The writing on his shirt is faded, but that's what makes him vintage and a treasure.   He's at least 55 years old.

I found these pretty blue candle holders, and I already had the tapers.

I liked them so much, I went back and got another.

Made a batch of sugar cookies and chocolate chip cookies cause they're always good with a cup of coffee.

My neighbor across the street has a row of pink roses planted in her front yard.  There are a couple red bushes mixed in with them.  This red rose was the first to bloom this spring.

My son made a braised chicken dish.  I got a picture of it before it was all gone - it was really good.

~Oh, to be a kid again in the spring and summer....chasing the butterflies, listening to the frogs tell a story, picking the wild dandelions anywhere and everywhere, skipping and laughing, and resting on a tree stump until you do it all over again~

From the plane....✈ Jess and Nel went on a fabulous trip, and I'll share with you the destination soon.

Oh Sheri, your white hutch looks adorable with all the July 4th decor. Very sweet! I love the little old-fashioned girl. How exciting about the trip. Can hardly wait to find out where they are going!
Your cookies look yummy and the red rose is food for the soul.
I hope you will have a wonderful week, dear Sheri. Hugs, Susan

The hutch is really great, I'm so glad you chose it. Your decorating is once again very well done. I always especially enjoy the photos of your seasonal treasures in the hutch.

I'm curious to see what Jess and Nel's destination is. :)

Have a wonderful week!

That white hutch is so perfect for your Simple Treasures. Love the blue candle holders especially.
The first of the season red roses of your neighbors' is so pretty. I love the way its peeking around the bush and behind the picket fence. It just says Good Morning June ...
You were wondering where I took the pink sunset photo. I think it was in the Super Safeway parking lot on Douglas. I have never seen a sunset like that before. People all over were snapping shots with their cell phones.

Fun adventures ahead for Jess and Nel! I wish I could get past my fear of flying. I would board immediately for a trip to Alaska! I love the blue candle holders and your troll doll took me back to the 70's when my sister and I had several of them. I want to say we got some from Pop Tart box tops, but that can't be right. Anyway, we don't have them anymore. My mother only saved the Barbies for some reason. Safe travel prayers for your girls and you all have a great week!

I would love the chicken recipe! Your rose header looks a bit different, or maybe I am imagining it? So beautiful. I always love seeing what you do with your hutch, and it is perfect for the 4th. I like that most of it is this pretty deep blue, with touches of red and white. I'm thinking maybe Trolls are not sold anymore, and maybe haven't been for a very long time.

Hello Sheri! Your hutch looks so nice! I love the idea of having a spot to do seasonal decor!
Oh, yes to be a kid again!! I think sometimes we should do some kid like things to refresh our souls! Like dance in the rain, play with playdough, chase fireflies, or swing on a swing. We really are never too old. Actually, one of my items for my spring bucket list is to do something fun and childlike. I have been pondering on that. :)
Yummm.. those cookies look so good.
Hope you have a great week ahead.

I hope your neck gives you 100% relief soon. These things take a while I know. Great 4th of July decorations. Loved the little vintage doll, the cup, everything. Very cute! Your cookies look delicious and so does your son’s braised chicken dish. Your neighbor’s red rose must be a pretty sight. Your image with the quote? Isn't that the truth? Mia on the tree stump made for a pretty picture and how fabulous Jess and Nel went on a trip. I am looking forward to finding out where. Thank for the wonderful post Sheri. Have a great week!

Oooo...can't wait to learn where the girls went on the trip.. Passports sure tell me that it was a good get-away. Your shelf Sheri...it is so adorable and it's nice that it can be changed for the seasons. I am so far behind, so I didn't know you were having neck issues. Prayers that this subsides and you are back to norm as soon as possible. Your white fence is so pretty and how beautiful the scene is with the rose behind it. Enjoy the rest of this fabulouse week

Love your sweet little white hutch!!! I don't have much for the 4th of July anymore. Like you, I have parceled things out here and there as we have moved. I do decorate our condo clubhouse with bits and pieces and that is fun. I absolutely adore that little girl with the flag that you found.
Can't wait to hear about the trip. Your family sure has pretty girls!!!!
Love you, my friend. I hope your neck improves. I miss a lot of posts because I am usually trying to stay to vists on Friday. So much going on here all the time. xo Diana

I'm sorry about your neck issues. We use our necks so much that it is probably hurting continuously.
I think the hutch was a great purchase - you can decorate it for every holiday. I like nothing better than red-white-and blue. I love your doll and cup there.
And you always have a little treat to go with coffee or tea.
I love the woman looking out at the world - I understand that.
The braised chicken looked delish.
Where did Jess and Nel go? And where is Charolette - I am surprised, she let mom go!
I enjoyed this trip today!

Your hutch is so cute and I love how you make it the centerpiece of your holiday decor. It looks just right! I don't like clutter. Your neighbors roses are pretty. Your son's chicken dish looks delicious.

I had neck issues a few years ago - went to physical therapy and it helped. cured it. Occasionally I may sleep wrong or turn my head too fast, and it gets tweaked but nothing like it was before. It got so bad it felt like my head was too heavy for my neck and shoulders. I used a neck brace for a few days to lift my neck up and give it a rest. That really helped take the pressure off.

We had a lovely day here today - overcast with sprinkles throughout the day but not cold. I love that aroma of rain in a pavement. Looks like our 100 temps might be making an appearance this week.
Have a good week, Sheri

Ps sorry about the delete. Spell check changed a few words to where it didn't make sense.

It is funny but true: the older I get, the more I go stare out the windows looking at the sky, the trees, the birds, whatever! We appreciate our surroundings and look to nature. Your hutch is quite a favourite piece, and how cute to do 4th of July. I really like the vintage little girl with the flag. She's a keeper. Now I am trying to guess where Jess and Nel have been - somewhere that requires a passport....I wonder if I get it right.

The touches of red, white, and especially those lovely blue candle holders make it feel festive without being overdone.
That little July 4th girl is such a sweet find, and the Troll adds a nostalgic bit of fun.
I’m eager to hear all about Jess and Nel’s adventure-- sounds like something wonderful is coming! 🌹

Sheri your hutch looks wonderful - I had to smile at your troll - he is certainly a treasure. I had forgotten about these until I saw yours. Being that you and I are about the same vintage there are things that were so popular when we were growing up. Yes to be young again and have the whole summer stretching out before us. Hope you have a blessed day - Hugs!
