Good Morning June!
I made a batch of gingerbread cookies. They were just from a package, but they were so moist and Yummy; really one of the best I've had.
Jess and the kids are coming to visit me soon.
I have been cleaning and getting ready for their visit. I wanted a cheerful space on my table, so I put a few yellow things out - I found a pretty painting with shades of yellow, trees, and even a mountain in the distance. Reminds me of where I live. I also put out Mia's music box, some silk flowers, and a cute yellow bird I found at the home shop.
Speaking of yellow birds, I used to see them all the time in my hometown, but I haven't seen them even once up here.
Some flowers in town. Do you know what these white flowers are? The blossoms were so big and pretty.
Some benches at one of my favorite eateries in town.
Meals during the week. I made a salad, and added Chex spicy mix on top for a crunchy kick. Meatloaf, which was incredibly good, a dish of jambalaya rice and Polish sausage. The jambalaya rice was delicious.
I have been sipping on Lemon and Ginger tea lately. It has a very soothing flavor, and ginger has so many health benefits.
My neighbor passed away, and his house is right across the street from mine. He was such a good neighbor, and was always there when I needed something, or had any questions on this mountain living. He gave me my first snow shovel. ; ) The roses at his house are in full bloom for his wife, V.
Mia's dear Mother's Day card she made me, and I will cherish it forever. She picked some real lavender from Nel's garden in their back yard, and glued it to the card.
I painted my statue, and I chose a shade in 'cottage white.' I'm not a painter, and it was hard to get in all the cracks, but I didn't want to overthink it, so I just kept painting. I think it turned out nicely.
I hope the June days are kind to you.

How fun that Mia and company are coming for a visit. You did a great job painting the little statue. I’m sorry about your neighbor. I pray that God comforts her during this time.
I’m just about ready to go outside to paint before it gets too hot! Have a great week Sheri 🥀
Good morning Sheri....How exciting that the kids are coming for a visit. I'm excited for you all. Yum on those cookies...This is one of my favorite cookies...There is a little shop up in Arkansas that makes the best ginger bread and molasses cookies...I have to stop there every time we go through the town. the color yellow brings a lot of cheer to any room and it just speaks Happiness, which I know the room will already be glowing with lots of joy. Prayers for your neighbor... Take a lot of photos when the kids come...
We just saw a golden finch yesterday!
Your posts are a ray of sunshine for my soul. Thank you
Hi,
Sorry for your loss of a good neighbor. My husband had a co worker recently pass away. His memorial was last Wednesday. He was only 48 years old.
I love all the flowers you have shared today. I think the big white ones are peony?
I have peony that look similar.
I also enjoy Lemon Ginger tea and I love your tea cup!
Carla
Everyone must be so excited about the upcoming visit.. the yellow touches are wonderful. It's one of my favorite colors. So happy.
Your white flower is a Peony. The little statue looks like you bought it new this way! And you can change the flowers according to the season! Sunflowers in the fall, poinsettias in December. I was just making out the grocery list to go shopping; now I have added the gingerbread mix! Your yellow scene is gorgeous! Where did you get the beautiful painting?
Rats! They didn't have the gingerbread, so I bought snickerdoodle.
I love the first meme - lol - coffee. ☺
I think I remember you making ginger bread cookies before because I loved for that limited mix. I could not find it here.
So wonderful that Jess and the kids are coming - will they stay with you?
Charlotte looks so pretty in pink.
I don't know what those purple flowers are - but I loved the photos of all the flowers.
Hey that meatloaf looked so good.
You know I know ginger is good for you - just don't like the taste.
I never ever thought of putting Chex mix on a salad - what a good idea.
I am sorry about your neighbor dying.
How sweet the card with the lavender. ♥
And lastly I love the yellow field of flowers.
So pretty.
I love, love, love ginger. Just today I bought more raw root ginger to play with. Love it in bakes, mains and hot tea! Love all the yellow and the flowers were fun to look through.
I was glad to enjoy your white Chinese peonies.
Sheri - so sorry to read about your neighbor. I am sure you and many others will miss him. The white flower is a peony. I have one from my grandma's at the farm. It must be about 100 years old. They are such long living perennials. Yellow means sunshine and that is what you spread with each of your lovely posts. Enjoy your family's visit. My hubby drinks this tea each morning. It is so good. Hugs!
I love the painting with the mountain in the background. I can imagine it is much like where you live. Have a wonderful visit with your family. How exciting to have them coming. So sorry to hear about your neighbor. Your food all looks delicious! Now I should know what that flower is, but right now it doesn't come to mind. I might be back.
Hello Sheri! How exciting that Jess and your sweet grands are coming to visit you soon. Your home is always so welcoming. I love your decorative touches. Mia’s card is darling! Your meals look very yummy and those ginger cookies, I wish I had one now. I will have to try your lemon and ginger tea. I enjoyed your walk through town but am very sorry to learn of your neighbor’s passing. May he rest in peace.
That painting and your yellow table are so pretty. I love those colors -- it feels summery and happy. Thanks for the recommendation on the cookies. I don't like taking a lot of sugar or flour to the lake but sometimes you want to make cookies or a dessert and that sounds like a good back-up. Love that you'll soon be having "company!" and that card by Mia is a good one. Thanks for the lemon/ginger tea recommendation. I'll have to try that one. All good!
Adorable decoration! Such happiness your girls are coming to visit you. I am sorry to hear about your neighbor, may God comfort his Family and you. Beautiful photos. Blessings.
the white flower is a peony..I have pink ones in my kitchen now..Their aroma permeates the whole house.. They are often full of ants which help them open up. Be careful if you cut them and bring them in the house.
I hope you had a nice visit..
Sorry about your neighbor...
Yellow decor brings such sunshine. It's lovely how you've created a cheerful space for Jess and the kids.
What a lovely post, Sheri! Your yellow touches make everything feel so warm and cheerful. Mia’s music box and her handmade card are such sweet treasures. Hope you have a great visit with Jess and the kids, and that June brings you lots of happy moments! 💛
Prayers for the loss of your good neighbor
Your display is lovely. Yellow is a cheery color. Goldfinches love thistle seed. A neighbor put out a thistle seed feeder goldfinches flocked to.

The statue came out great, Sheri. Nice job! Oh, I'm so excited for you that you are going to have very, very special houseguests! That is so wonderful. Everything is looking great. Well, you know me and downsizing. It is a gargantuan job for me and I am progressing very, VERY slowly. I cannot get rid of books easily and dismantling my cherished doll collection is like a machete in my heart. But I am trying. I hope you have a WONDERFUL week ! (I know you will!) Hugs. Susan
