Jess always puts the red balls and poinsettias on her Christmas tree every year, and it looks so pretty with the white lights all lit up. I noticed many ornaments on the tree that I gave her through the years that she still has. I try to give the girls an ornament every year. The Mickey train under the tree is a nice addition. Jess loves Nutcrackers, and her new teddy Nutcracker, Joyeux Noel, means Merry Christmas in French. The little wooden house is a new find this year. It's handmade from Germany, and if you put an incense cone inside the house, its chimney will smoke! Continuing a family tradition, she piles all the presents in the master bedroom with initials on each of them, then they will go under the tree on Christmas Eve. She pulled out all of Francesca's holiday books and piled them on her dresser for easy access. The angel on top of the tree is old and special, and something I gave her many years ago. It's a reminder of the times we visited the angel shop in my hometown, that since then has closed. Here's some Christmas at Jess' house.
Back at my house, I was out of cocoa, so made some cocoa with chocolate mints. It turned out good.
A New York steak dinner.
I've been drinking lots of tea lately, just because I want to stay away from caffeine for awhile.
But I did want to get a Christmas coffee for the season at the drive through, and I ordered a decaf peppermint mocha coffee. Their specialty coffees are delicious for the holiday season.
Isn't this the biggest Christmas tree you've seen?
Some decorations in town.
My grandmother's candle holders (my mom's mom).
When I saw these cute little Dutch ornaments wearing their clogs, I had to get them. It looks like they are all girls, and it reminded me of the village of girls that we have in my own family. I'm thankful for my son and sons-in-law who bring their own special presence to the family.
Speaking of girls, they went to see the Nutcracker this weekend.
I thought these cookies would be fun to make.
I bought this sweater for the cold Winter ahead. It's so soft and furry. It's going to snow soon, and I want to be ready. Most of the clothes up here are bought at the sporting goods store. They are kind of pricey, but there's really not many shops up here to buy clothes.
I woke up to an early Christmas present. My son bought me a candle in the scent of rustic pine. I love it, it's the perfect scent for living in the mountains.
My brother-in-law is coming over this week to drop off some holiday cheer from the in-laws. I love surprises. ; )
I am just enjoying these quiet moments before Christmas, looking at the lights and being still for a time.

Love you friend. Your posts bring me joy.
Sheri - I so enjoyed seeing Jess's Christmas tree and decorations. Those special ornaments continue I am certain to bring back wonderful memories. I know mine still do. Your mint cocoa sounds delicious. All your pictures are so lovely friend. Have a great week leading up to Christmas. May yours be merry and bright and the coming New Year be filled with hope and all God's precious gifts. Hugs!
Oh I loved this post! I can feel those quiet moments you mentioned. The pretty photos - all the children Christmas books, and Jess’s tree is lovely. I especially like the train. We have 2 old train sets but we don’t put them out due to a playful cat and the dog barks at the train in motion. It’s comedic but after a while, it gets annoying because they just won’t leave the train alone.
That New York steak sounds good.
I order most of my clothing online. We have clothing stores but most just sell very cheaply made clothes. I need shoes ( short boots) and I’m having a hard time finding what I like at an affordable price. I don’t order footwear on line. They all fit differently.
It’s a rainy morning here in the foothills. They’re saying this storm could bring at least an inch of rain. I hope so.
Enjoy your day and your week, dear Sheri. I hope you have a beautiful gentle snow ❄️ out of this storm. God bless you.
Sheri, It's all so beautiful! What a special time at Jess' house with her two daughters. I enjoyed seeing all the pictures and that stack of children's Christmas books brings back so many sweet memories of reading to my children as they lay on the floor by the Christmas tree each night and then giving them their favorites when they had children of their own. Is their anything more fun than taking a daughter to the Nutcracker?
I do love your new gray sweater!
Your Post let me feel Christmas. Jess Tree looks beautiful. The Girls in her Dresses are gorgeous.
Have a wonderful Week Sheri
What a fun post, Sheri. Full of lovely family and joy! Jess' house and traditions look great. The darling grands are adorable going to the Nutcracker! Your pine candle is just the kind of fragrance I enjoy this time of year. Love your new warm jacket. Have fun with the in-laws, dear friend. Merry Christmas to you and yours!
Hi Sheri,
I loved this post, filled with Christmas cheer, love of family and simple beauty.
I love the Nutcracker. It has been a few years since I went to the ballet, I hope to again in the up coming years.
Carla
Jess's tree looks lovely. Love the christmas themed stack of books and the girls in the dress.. so many beautiful pictures. Beautiful memories being made.
Love these photos.
Merry Christmas!
🌹
Dearest Sheri,
Memories from years ago in all those ornaments and new ones made.
Special candle holders and someone will be smiling down from heaven!
The girls were dressed up cute with their hair up, for the nutcracker.
Did you know that tea contains even more caffeine than coffee?
I'm off of caffeine and drink mainly herbal tea like rosehip and such.
Enjoy the quiet time!
Hugs,
Mariette
Mariette, I've been drinking herbal all natural teas without caffeine - peppermint and chamomile are my favorites.
Always a delight and a joy to see your posts Sheri :) I take in each and every photo. Such a fun read too. Thank you my dear friend and Merry Christmas to you and your sweet family! Going back to read it all over again now :)))
So many wonderful traditions and memories to share . Loved hearing about Jess's tree. The funfetti kit looks cute and fun to make. It' always a joy to go see the Nutcracker.
What wonderful fun visiting your daughter for Christmas--to see the home-the tree--the kids. I can't believe how grown up the little girls are and all dressed to see The Nutcracker.
I might be wrong but I think tea has as much caffine as coffee (unless it's decaf). I can't drink tea at all-the tannic acid sends me into a flare. Crazy!
Your son has a sweet soul and I love how he thinks of you. Enjoy the surprise you are going to get!
Merry Christmas, sweet Sheri. xo Diana
Your granddaughters are growing up so quickly. How wonderful they could go to the ballet together. All the decorations are wonderful. Love that you made hot chocolate with chocolate mints. The town decoration was pretty too. What a nice cozy top, enjoy!!!
Merry Christmas Sheri, Jess and family! Love all the pictures. Everything looks so festive. I can't drink coffee anymore. decaf or regular. I don't know why. I can drink tea and I get decaf. But only have it when my granddaughter is over for a tea party. I use to drink two pots of coffee a day. I love coffee. It just doesn't love me. I hope you have a wonderful Week!!!!!
It always brings me joy to see your Christmas posts Sheri. Everything looks so cozy and festive. Merry Christmas my dear friend.
Beautiful decorations. The tree looks like out of a magazine!
Gorgeous sweater, it looks really warm.
Happy Holidays!
Her tree is gorgeous and I love her nutcrackers too!!!! My mom used to buy us a new ornament for the tree every year...I sure do miss her. Love your new sweater, it looks so comfy and warm.
Merry Christmas!

We love giving and receiving ornaments, it makes them that much more special. The ones with pictures of the grandkids are fun as you can see the changes throughout the years.
Ya hace días que tengo la decoración de la casa, perfecta para estos días de Navidad.
Una de las imágenes de Navidad, que ha en la fotografía nº 2, coincide con una que tengo en casa y es la primera, que está situada a la izquierda de la imagen.
Feliz navidad, junto a familiares y amigos.
What a festive post, my friend! Your daughter's Christmas home is lovely! I absolutely love the Christmas books. LOVE. LOVE. LOVE. I enjoyed sharing your Christmas cookies, candles, tea, and coffee. Enjoy the lights and the stillness. P.S. Precious Baby!!!
You had a lot of nice photos in here.
I love angels. Love how Charlottes was watching the train. Do the girls believe in Santa anymore? I love her pink tree.
That sweater looks nice and cuddle - very pretty.
You know I have never seen a bear Nutcracker before. Cool.
I have seen the Nutcracker myself and I know people love it - but I just don't care for it too much.
Nice that you have your mother's candles and still use them.
That big tree in your city - do they decorate it?
Red is my favorite color on a Christmas tree with white lights.
Does it bother you without coffee?
Love the chairs with the red and black blankets. So pretty.
Never thought of melting peppermints for hot chocolate - you think of things I never would.
Hopefully I will be able to read Christmas books to a little one - lol.
Well lastly your meal looked soooooooooooooooooooo good.
MERRY CHRISTMAS
Such beauty and happiness... Merry Christmas my dear Sheri.
Your post fills me with warmth and festive cheer.
Loved admiring Jess's beautifully decorated Christmas tree.
The stack of books with a Christmas theme and the girls in their dresses are delightful additions among many other beautiful pictures.
Wishing you a wonderful holiday season filled with warmth and happiness, Sheri 🌹
Your home is so warm and welcoming. I'm sure your family will always have something wonderful to remember. Happy holidays, friend.
Hi Sheri, what a lovely seasonal post. It all looks so cosy and nice, and your new sweater is absolutely perfect as the snow appears. The girls look so cute going to the Nutcracker, a perfect Christmas treat. It is on every Christmas here in Brisbane too and sometimes I go. I really love the sound of that decaf peppermint mocha coffee - now where can I find someone to make one for me? Have a beautiful Christmas, my friend. x
All the decorations look so pretty. I love all the red! I make it an affirmation every year to slow down and enjoy the holiday season without stressing out about the presents or other commercialized aspects of it all. I think as we get older we appreciate the quiet, peaceful, melancholy of the season.
I love every single photo -- your house AND Jess'. Those clothespin oraments are the cutest things -- I'm glad you got that. And Jess' bear nutcracker is a gem -- really cute. That's a lot of Christmas books! How fun. And I don't know that I would have thought of melting down the mints for hot chocolate -- what a clever idea. The steak dinner -- yum! Your new sweater is wonderful and cozy-looking. And I love your snowman and "quiet moments."
We hit the road today so if I don't get back before Christmas, I wish you the merriest of days. Happy Christmas to you!
I love seeing all the pretty Christmas decorations at Jess's beautiful home, dear Sheri. The piles of pretty books and presents are so sweet, and the baby enjoying the train is precious. The girl's bedrooms are darling and oh my, the photo of the girls in their pretty dresses with bows in their hair is just so special. I'm glad to hear that your brother-in-law is stopping by with some Christmas cheer, too. Your new top looks so cozy and the town decorations are nice to see. Candlelight from your Grandmother's candlesticks and son's gift are peaceful and cozy and I am glad that you are enjoying the stillness of this season. Wishing you peace and joy and many blessings in the coming new year, dear friend. Hugs xo K
Love all the photos!
Merry Christmas to you and your family!
Hug
Donna
When I was a child, I only called that drink "cocoa". I didn't know another name.
I read "The catcher in the rye" later, I found another one "chocolate".
Your tree has been decorated with wonderful memories. Have a happy holiday season.
That was a lovely post from start to finish, Sheri. You know I wish you the happiest of Christmas holidays. Merry, Merry Christmas! You are a faithful and very blog friend. I wish you many more days of holiday cheer! Hugs. Susan
What a festive and heartwarming Christmas setup at Jess' house! The red balls, poinsettias, and white lights create a beautiful tree, and the ornaments with sentimental value add a special touch. The Mickey train and Nutcrackers bring in delightful holiday cheer. The handmade German wooden house with a smoking chimney is a unique and charming addition. It's lovely to see the continuation of family traditions, like piling presents in the master bedroom with initials. Wishing Jess and your entire family a magical Christmas filled with joy and love!

What a delightful and festive Christmas setup at Jess's house! The attention to detail, from the traditional red balls and poinsettias on the tree to the meaningful ornaments collected over the years, creates a warm and inviting holiday atmosphere. The teddy Nutcracker and the charming wooden house with a smoking chimney add unique touches to the celebration. It's heartwarming to see the continuation of family traditions, like piling presents in the master bedroom and pulling out Francesca's holiday books. The angel atop the tree, holding sentimental value, ties together the spirit of Christmas. Wishing you all a joyous and memorable holiday season!
