Hello, Pumpkin

September is just a sweet month.  It's a calm one for me.  I did some work outside last weekend.  Most people do Spring cleaning, but I do Fall cleaning.  The back porch area gets so dusty, so I swept that, washed down the floor mat, washed my car, and cleaned the 'not so easy to get to' areas in the laundry room.  It always makes me feel good when things are cleaned and polished, but I tend to get sore afterwards.

I have decorated for Fall, and I realized that I have lots of pumpkins! - a velvet pumpkin, ceramic pumpkin, glittery pumpkin, and even pumpkin donuts!

I visited the antique shop and talked with the owner, a, for awhile.  I love going in there and browsing around.  She originally worked at a shop in the San Francisco area, which is only a few hours from where I grew up.  Her shop is decked out, and packed with one of a kind items.  As I was looking around, I noticed a hot plate with a unique design, and it was made in Turkey.   I've always been drawn to international items, so I brought it home with me.

I've been drinking green tea lately.

People ask me if I like the white pumpkins or the orange pumpkins.  The white pumpkins are sweet, but the orange ones make my heart sing.  In fact, when I came across this plaque, it shows just how I feel.

I made some blueberry bread with Irish butter.  Have you ever tried Irish butter?  It's very creamy, and it's especially good on rolls and breads.

My blog friend, Tammie Lee, at Beauty Flows, did a post recently called Summer Creek.  She is an artist and photographer, and her nature photos are incredible.  She is so talented and recently posted a painting that she did.  I said to her, "this reminds me of myself, a lady in the mountains, going to the creek often, and wearing a red dress."  A short while after that, I got a surprise in the mail.  It was the painting that Tammie Lee did, and she wanted me to have it.

Speaking of the creek, I went there recently and saw the big strong Oak tree bursting with acorns.

Just as fast as they were growing, the faster they were being eaten.

This is the drive-inn that I go to every now and then to get a mushroom burger.  They are delicious every time, dripping with Swiss cheese, mushrooms, and a special sauce.

I've shown you my glass pumpkin before, which my sister-in-law gave me.  I never found the right place for it in my past homes, but sitting here on the kitchen window sill, it shows how pretty it is when the sun shines through.

Francesca saw Bigfoot this Summer.

It's cooling down this week to the 80's and 70's.  It's going to be a nice September week.

Oh boy - lots of great things you posted. Let's see.
My favorite season is fall - I love the colors - they make me feel so alive. I do fall and spring cleaning. It does make you feel good, and I get sore too.
Love all the decorations you have- the glass pumpkin is gorgeous. I love your new blue glass plate too.
I love Sassy Pants too - and I agree - tea is good for the soul. Do you like coffee at all?
That mushroom burger looked so good - and so did your blueberry bread. So Irish butter tastes different than regular butter?
How nice of your friend to send you that painting she drew. I loved it.
Francesa looked so little with Big Foot. Cute.
Loved the squirrels and the bird too - you can see God all around you there.
Love, sandie

Pumpkins~ the orange make me think more of fall, they seem the most natural color to fit into the fall season. Love the deeper orange, not the bright. I like the burnt orange colors. White I also like but it does not bring on the thoughts of fall. However, a mix of orange and white together is really pretty. Then, that leaves the question, blue pumpkins? HAHA....I have yet to put out my fall decor, getting the items from the basement up to the house can become a challenge these days. We had rain move in yesterday, six times. This morning we had the nice color fall like temps. I love it. Fall is just around the corner.

Oh Sheri - what a lovely painting your friend sent you. She is so talented. What is Irish butter? I have never had this kind. Your orange pumpkin is lovely sitting on your window. I adore autumn. It is beginning to feel like it here but we won't see our brilliant colors until the first of October. I have some real pumpkins to sit outdoors. This is the first year in many moons that I have grown them. They take up so much room but how fun!! Hope your September week is delightful. Hugs!

Wow, I have LOVED LOVED LOVED this post!! So many pretty fall things and ideas! Your glass pumpkin is beautiful, and it does need to sit by a light source. Tmmi Lee's painting is amazing, I love it. I am going to try and find her blog. Your hot plate is gorgeous, it would even be so pretty hanging on the wall.

What a sweet gift your blogger friend gave you - I like the painting and will check out her blog.

Yes, we are cooling down - 94 as a High today but each day we go down a bit. I'm even seeing some possible rain for the weekend.

I spring clean for all seasons - I haven't started yet for Fall. I usually clean out my pantry for the holidays - wipe them down, and make them look good again. We usually start packing up the patio of the summery things as well.

I haven't tried Irish butter - I love butter so I am sure I will like it.

That hamburger looks good.

Enjoy your pumpkin everything - I do apples for Sept - then I get into the pumpkins...Take care and enjoy the coolness of your days and evenings.

I love your bird picture and your glass pumpkin. Oak trees are so gorgeous. What a lovely, thoughtful gift of the painting. Yumm, Irish butter is a secret treat I buy myself about twice a year to go on scones. It is so good. A good cup of tea is indeed good for the soul. Haven't brought out pumpkins yet, but soon. The weather is beginning to have a bit of Autumn/Fall in the air.
