Purple Peace

It was just one of those days.  I'll be taking a road trip soon, and that means getting on the phone and making plans and arrangements, etc.  As I was talking on the phone with rude and not so helpful staff, I started to get frustrated and bothered.  Could that be one of the reasons I don't like traveling that much, too much preparation?  Probably.  After things were taken care of, I needed some peace.  So, I slowly drove to the church.  When I got there, I was surprised to see rows and rows of Purple flower beds, my favorite color!  Right away, I began to feel better, and the chaos around me started to dissipate.

I came across two Bee cups at the store one day, and one said Bee kind, and the other, Bee unique.  I mentioned to my son that I wanted one.  He asked me which one.  I had to think about it, cause it seems that kindness has been lost in the world, so those words were special, but being unique is so important to me.  So, that was the cup I chose, and one day he surprised me with it.

Nel just told me that she's starting to make cakes!  Not for selling, just decorative cakes for special occasions.  Here's one she made for her nephew's Spider-Man birthday.  Isn't it wonderful?

Mia sent me a surprise in the mail for Mother's Day.  It was a small music box.  I love the tune, and I'll share it with you a little later, along with some other goodies that Jess got me.

My flowering plant is green from the rain.  The tiny white flowers on it are starting to blossom.

On my front lawn.

Make a wish.

I wish you so many good things this week.

So where are you going on a road trip?
I agree that place is quite peaceful and I can see why you liked it. Rows and rows of purple - light purple and pink flowers. And yours at home - white. So pretty.
One little dandelion in the mist of all the purple. You captured it so nicely.
Nel's cake was awesome. Love the girls in their Spiderman costumes.
You son bought the right cup - BEE UNIQUE - you are.
We have been busy this end too.
I know you had a wonderful birthday.
Love, sandie

I am not a phone person. I deal with all my trip planning online and if I have questions I'd rather shoot them an email then speak to them on the phone. Hope you are able to figure out your travel plans.
Those purple flowers are so lovely.. so soothing.

The cake is awesome! I love the skyline around the edge. And your cup is so cheerful! Where did you get it? I cannot resist a cool mug, and have quite a collection. I can't wait to see your music box, you must tell us what it plays. These flower beds are STUNNING!!! It looks like you attend a Catholic church?

The purple flowers are very beautiful and what a good place to seek some peace and quiet. We love to travel but feel a bit overwhelmed with it all sometimes. Even a day trip requires a lot of planning for us! Enjoy your week!

How breath taking, I bet it smelled amazing. I do wish I culd give everyone a bee kind mug, sign, t-shirt whatever t would take to bring some kindness into the world again. How did we lose it?
When frustration sets in church is the perfect place to head to.

The lovely purple ground cover appears to be phlox. I'm so glad you found peace among them. Nature has a way of doing that for me as well. The St Francis is lovely at the garden. I've always wanted one for our garden. How nice your son bought you that sweet mug you liked. Have a peaceful week, my friend.

What a lovely way to seek peace and try to relax. The world and people are in such chaos. People need to calm down. Everyone seems to be zooming. Cute cake, mug, cutie pies!

The purple flowers are really beautiful, so nice to hear they can impact the way you feel. I like your choice of Bee Unique, that's very important to me also.
I recently started blogging again after a few year break. I checked to see if some of the bloggers I used to connect with were still online- very pleased to see you are still.

Sheri,
I love your new mug. The saying is perfect! I am glad you found peace in the purple flowers. They look like phlox. I love them too.
The spiderman cake is wonderful. My grandson loves spiderman! I hope you enjoy your road trip. I don't travel very often. I wish everyone could be kind.

Awww, sweet, darling photos of the kiddies, and your new mug is great! That's a great looking cake also and Nel has a talent for them, that's for sure. I loved the church garden you shared. Sometimes we need to step back and find a place that brings us peace. I'm glad you found it. Being among flowers I find it so relaxing, being around nature in general. Planning for a trip can be frustrating and hope the rest goes smoothly.
Once you're on your way, I hope it is the best one ever. Have a great week Sheri :)

Good morning dearest Sheri! I WISH.....I wish for you to have a safe and happy trip!

Those purple flowers look like what we have here: creeping phlox. They are glorious, aren't they?

I love the cup. It's wonderful. And I know what you mean about being all tense and then you see something, experience something and it just drains from you. It sounds like la lovely mother's day. And the flowers are gorgeous.

I also love purples, lavenders, and blues. I like greens too. Oh heck, I pretty much appreciate all colors.

Beautiful purples though do seem to soothe the eyes.

I detest planning a vacation. I would rather just do it - and go. I don't like to pack - I usually end up packing too much for fear that I wouldn't pack enough. I'd rather buy whatever I need if I could afford it. That could get expensive.

I hope you have a safe road trip and a fun time wherever you will be going.

That is good that you could go to church and get a sense of peace.

I would love to travel if it was not for the getting ready...and right now that is more trouble than it is worth.

My favorite color in the garden is also purple! Those are beautiful drifts of purple and I smiled at the one lone yellow flower growing tall. I have a St. Francis statue by my bird feeder now. It was too new looking so we poured buttermilk all over it and tied a plastic bag around it, something I used to do at my old house. Hoping it will get some moss on it now.

You're mug is darling! I hope your travel goes well and that you have a wonderful time.

Sheri I am catching up on all your posts I missed. I love purple too...especially in those early flowers that bloom in May. Nel is really talented with baking decorative cakes. How special to have one that celebrates the things one likes...Spider Man. Love your coffee cup...Bee unique is wonderful. I think I would have chosen this one too. Hugs!
