Well, it's been pretty cold here this Winter - in the 20's when I go outside early in the morning and get in my car. Our snow has melted, but we'll probably have another snowfall before Winter is over. So, I've been staying inside and doing some cleaning, organizing, getting rid of, and such. There were snowflakes on the windows of my car one day, it was freezing that morning.
Don't get me wrong, Winter is really cold here, but it's beautiful at the same time, and I'm glad I get to experience this season to the fullest.
Jess had a fun snow day also.
January is a good time to bake, and sometimes just do nothing at all.
I have been wanting to visit nature lately, so one day I drove to the Creek. I've always wanted to see the Creek when it's snowing, but it's tricky driving there, so I haven't been able to do that yet. I heard it's pretty, with the water being covered by a blanket of snow. But, one day the sun came out and it felt really nice being there.
This is our mountain,
and this is glorious Mount Shasta. I can see it clearly in the distance when I drive to the Creek. I think about Nel climbing that tall mountain and reaching the top, twice! And I feel her close to me right then.
On my drive home, I always see horses and cows, which is a pleasant sight.
We don't have a Starbuck's up here, but they do have it at the stores, so when I saw this, I instantly grabbed one, cause it's a limited edition. It was sooooo good.
So, tell me how you're doing this Winter, and what weather conditions you are facing. It's interesting to hear, and I think our blog friends would like to know as well.

I was reading blogs just as yours came up this morning.
Well we have been cold here - but with the snow - you look colder. I have to tell you it looks beautiful out there tho.
Did Jess come up and visit you?
I am so glad the two little ones have each other - like sisters.
That creek in the mountains is beautiful! - Mt. Shasta. The cow looked cold.
Love to try peppermint coffee.
Things are settling down here so good for me!
Stay warm.
Hello! What lovely winter scenes in your part of the world. No Starbucks here, but like you, I enjoy it brewed here at home! We are enjoying a quiet winter by the lake here in Pennsylvania. I am a winter inside girl, reading~baking~watching movies. Have a cozy afternoon, my friend!
I drove hubby to the airport at 5am this morning in a snowstorm; unplowed roads. I was glad to get home even knowing I had to clean this morning. lol
Your pictures are wonderful and those grandgirls are just absolutely beautiful. What a blessing in your life. Good for your daughter for climbing that mountain TWICE! xo Diana
Pretty photos. Happy Baking!
Cold here as well. Unlike the usual blah winter sky, there has been some bright sunshine! Even half a day is cheerful.
I love this peppermint mocha coffee! I always buy a lot as soon as I see it in the stores. One winter I bought a whole bag full, and sent the clerk in the back to look for more!! Wish I could get it all year round, though. The girls are SO adorable!! And your mountain shots are glorious! I have heard of Mt. Shasta, but never seen it. How far are you from the creek?
What a wonderful view of the mountain. My daughter is enthralled with it when she went cross country a few years back. you are so lucky. To be so close and view it often is a blessing for sure. your granddaughters make adorable little bakers. I don't drink coffee but that bag of Peppermint Starbucks looks delish. And I love, love, love your mug. Daisies are one of my favorites.
Oh so lovely. I agree.. as cold as winter is and sometimes as inconvenient as snow can be.. it is the most beautiful thing. Watch is fall just makes my worries melt away (for a bit)
The snowflakes are so incredible to see up close and the mountain is breathtaking. We had a frost overnight and it looked pretty this morning when the sun came out. We don't get a hard freeze very often. By afternoon it was 60 degrees so I went for a hike by myself. It was invigorating! Enjoy your week!
what a beautiful place. Snow flakes are hypnotic.
The snow is rejuvenating.
Such beauty! I'm glad you get to enjoy snow. We were blessed with way more than was expected recently and had a glorious weekend in, admiring it from inside while we had a fire and hot chocolate. Melted after a few days. Sure was a nice change from all the dreary gray of winter.
I am enjoying this winter with the opportunity to sit by the fireplace! I have a strong “hibernation” gene. :-) We don’t customarily have very much snow at all, and I love when we have some! I’ve been doing some reading, clearing through some things, and just enjoying the coziness of home. There is still time for more winter weather.
Wonderful vignettes. Here is summer and it is hot too much...Beautiful sunny days but I was ill and in quarentine. Now I came back to my work. Life goes on...God is my strength. Hugs and blessings dear Sheri.
Sheri, I enjoyed seeing your beautiful snow photos! Mt Shasta is extraordianary!! Your darling grands are so cute together. It's so nice they see each other often. Growing up my own cousins were close to us and we spent many happy times together. Winter is cold here, but we still bundle up and walk each morning for exercise. Stay warm and cozy in your lovely home.
It is a winter wonderland there for sure.
I think it is a perfect time for organizing.
I am glad you were able to get some Starbucks there. Also save a lot by making it yourself. (-;
I am glad your girls got to enjoy the snow too.
I went back to work today. I am doing better.
Have a great week Sheri!
Hi Sheri, I've been catching up on your previous posts, too. Love the pretty snowflakes on your windshield - it's amazing to think that each snowflake is different than any other. Such a pretty view you have on your way to the creek. Everything looks very peaceful and still. Mt. Shasta has mystical legends surrounding it. You are just a couple of volcanoes away from me, as the crow flies! xx It has been very foggy and still here, just at freezing or a little above. I've been staying inside, just catching up on blogging and Facebook. We are isolating again due to Covid. Even though we are vaxxed and boosted - we don't want to get sick. I've been sick 3 times this winter - just various viruses that the grand-boys have passed along. They are all in pre-school now and it is one cold after another. I'm over it. Haha! So I told them all we will get together once this wave passes. The coffee looks yummy. I think you can't get through winter without it! The girls look like they are having fun learning to bake and going sledding. So cute. We are supposed to get some sunshine at the end of the week so I am going to brave the cold and go outside and work cleaning up the 'gardens'. Or should I say, 'The weeds'! Enjoy this quiet time of year. Sending hugs xo K
I absolutely love the enchanting winter scenes, Sheri.
And those kiddos are ADORABLE!
Happy Tuesday, Sheri!
Oh, I do love a snowy Winter landscape, Sheri. Thank you for some beautiful photos. Mt. Shasta is gorgeous, just like a painting. The icicles and snow on trees are lovely too. What a Winter Wonderland you have there. That Peppermint Mocha looks so delicious - I wonder if it can be found in Australia :)
I'm glad you got to your creek, Sheri! And I loved all the wonderful photos of your girls and the ice crystals. Here it's very cold -- high of 20s and sometimes lower this week. We only have a few inches of snow, maybe a bit more today. Rick tried to XC ski but it wasn't good -- too much snow and too much powder snow to make it worthwhile!
Your snow pictures are hypnotic. I lived in Alaska years ago and the mountains were spectacular. Winter days, a perfect time to bake and read and enjoy the season from indoors.
Awesome photos!
Beautiful... and such cute kiddos! Happy Tuesday. Leticia
Beautiful post, Sheri. The winter scenes are breathtaking. Oh, and your little granddaughter and her Mama shot is lovely, too. You captured so much of your area for us. Thanks for doing that! Hugs. Susan
Hello,
I just loved the photos. The big cow looking at you, that is just a great photo.
We have been COLD here! We have below zero temps. Thankfully we will have a warm up to the Teens this coming Thursday.
Carla
Sheri - your photos of winter are so gorgeous. You are an artist with that camera sweet friend. I don't mind the cold but it is the driving that is challenging in the winter.
Have been shoveling and shoveling and we are hearing another clipper is coming in Friday. Hope they are wrong because we have plenty of white stuff to last us for a while. :)!! Take care - wish I could be sharing a peppermint mocha with you. Would we not have a wonderful chat?? Hugs!
Your posts are always a pleasant read...I would love to visit that area. But it is not going to happen. I love the frozen snowflakes on your windshield.
The past couple of days we have had cold weather...yesterday the high was 25, but with the wind it felt much colder. Today we got up to 0 degrees weather, but no wind, so was not as terrible as you might think. At least up in the day. I was not outside when it was 0...
Great photos Sheri, the family ones are adorable! January is a great month for baking :)
What beautiful photos Sheri! We had snow last weekend. Very rare for South Carolina lol. You share so many of your wonderful memories with us through your photos! Have a great weekend my friend!
Mount Shasta is just so beautiful. But what an amazing feat, to climb it, twice! She is quite the outdoorswoman. I love the wintry photos, so different than here. I remember quite a few snowy winters in the foothills of the Ozarks in Arkansas.
Thank you for inviting us to enjoy beauty of winter. White, cold and silence come together and realize the variety of breathtaking beauty. Young children would memorize them vividly.
What a wonderful post, Sheri, I truly love it!
Thanking you for sharing it,
I'm sending my dearest hug to you

In the past when I would drive to California I always loved seeing Mt. Shasta. You live in such a beautiful area of California. The peppermint mocha actually sounds delicious, enjoy.
