Yellow Surprise

I've been doing a lot of yard work lately - picking up pine needles from the front yard, washing down the porch area, and getting a little space ready to plant a rose bush eventually.  It's really hard to get workers up here in the mountains, but after making several calls, I finally found a landscaper to pick up the big piles of leaves and debris that were left behind.  I actually like doing yard work, and there is a sense of completion when things are kept up.  I'm on a corner lot with a big front yard, and although the walkways are always washed down, the remainder of the area is all woods, and trees as tall as you can imagine.  I was outside working one day, and on the side of the house I noticed two yellow Tulips all by themselves growing in the wild.  I don't know how they got there, but it was a lovely sight.

I pulled them, gave them some water, and placed them on the bird house.

The next day, they were starting to wilt, so I put them in a vase with water, and they stood straight and tall.

 They slowly started opening up,

until they were fully opened.  The inside of a Tulip is amazing with all its detail.

Here's some more Yellow pics.

All I have to is look at this smile, and my heart smiles too.  Doesn't Renecke keep the lawn up beautifully?

My surprise Tulips.

Have a cheerful week, friends.

Tulips are my favorite flower. They were probably planted by the last people and will come up every year.
You little granddaughter is precious.
Loved your meals - was one rice? You eat pretty healthy!

Neat discovery! Tulips bulbs were probably dropped by a squirrel or racoon. I hope you find more surprise flowers.
Happy Gardening!

What a wonderful little surprise.
We saw our house in the winter and moved in during the summer so we were so pleasantly surprised when in the summer emerged a couple 100 daffodils in our backyard.

What wonderful luck, to have two tulips pop up like that. I wish it would happen to me :) They are a gorgeous yellow, so cheerful like your little one's skirt. Happy Springtime Sheri.

I am glad you found someone to help you with your yard. The yellow tulips were a wonderful surprise. I love all your yellow photos. I most often have banana with cereal but today I found some lovely fresh strawberries for tomorrow’s cereal.

Hello dear Sheri! Yellow is a color that has grown on my in the last several years. It brings so much joy to my eyes! How fun to see these tulips just pop up! The tulips in our area have not opened up yet but their green, slender bodies are starting to emerge.

Everything looks warm and sunny out there; we have gone back and forth from cold and cloudy to warm and sunny but this is April in Minnesota, so it's not too consistent.

Have a glorious day my friend.

What a lovely bunch of yellows! How surprising to find those two yellow tulips just growing alone. I love the food pictures; they are making me hungry! All such lovely shades of yellow. And the prettiest pics of the bunch, your granddaughter!

A cheery yellow post! I love that color -- the tulips are great. The first spring is always such a discovery of what was there before. I spend what seems like the first half of the summer sweeping pine needles at the lake. After awhile, it's kind of Zen!

Oh Sheri, what a lovely post. I love tulips, too. So glad you found workers to help you clean up. Spring WAS here in western Massachusetts but winter's made a come back. Yesterday, April 21 for crying out loud, guess what fell down from the sky? Yup. SNOW. Brother. Thanks for all your visits and comments, Sheri. They mean a lot to me. Hugs. Susan

Sheri those yellow tulips have to be one of the most cheerful surprises. You are so right about the centers being amazing. That lovely granddaughter of yours made me smile in her bright skirt. Her smile is a ray of sunshine. Don't work too hard and take time to smell the roses.😊 Hugs!
