The Creek And A Bit Of Green

So, I told you that I've been exploring areas in this new mountain town, and my neighbor said that there's a creek not far away and that it's a good place to take pictures.   I tried to find it, but honestly, I'm awful with directions, but one day I surprisingly found my way there.  I heard when it snows, the creek is covered and looks really pretty.

Jennifer runs the farm, and it was so nice of her to let me take pictures of the horses she tends to.  There are also cows at the farm.

Not sure what this prickly bush was, but it grows all over in the woods around here, and is so pretty.

On my way home, I saw a couple geese.  They have the funniest necks, don't they?

A little bit of green in my house for St. Patrick's Day.

And I'll leave you with my beloved bird.  I think it's incredible when we see them in the wild, but I'll take them any time, anywhere.  This is my neighbor, Lisa's feeder, and they come around often.

I had another Zoom meeting with the kids.  Nel is always the hostess, and sends the links.  I'm so thankful for this, cause I get to see my loves every couple weeks.  Thank you, Nel, for these special moments.

I am glad you get to have a zoom meeting with your dear ones. It makes them seem like they are right there. I love horses. I am ready for St. Patty's Day here too. I am glad the hummingbirds are getting fed. I feed there here all year around too. They are so fun to watch.

Good morning Sheri! Good to see that you're in good spirits; after I have a Zoom or Google Meet with friends or family, it always leave me happy.

What a gorgeous creek you have near you! Be safe at all times; do you have someone that can go out with you?

Soon my friend, our fields will be filled with flowers and the joy of a new season. Hugs to you!

Lovely trip, and you got out of Dodge and went country, I love to do that I'm much at peace and enjoy the countryside and all it's beauty. Do you need to have special flowers to get Hummingbirds? That was really a pretty shot too.

The creek will be lovely to photograph in all the seasons. I love the geese and also the hummingbirds. How sweet to get to see your precious family via zoom. I love your St Patrick’s day decor. I have a friend who is part Irish and she always decorates and cooks a traditional Irish meal. Have a great day.🍀🍀🍀

Wow...hummingbirds already. I love it. I need to get another feeder since towards the end of the season last yr I dropped and broke mine. I love watching hummingbirds. Trying to catch them feeding in a pic is fun too. I can see that creek with snow banks but even more so with green grass. I do miss the creek next to the house where I did live. I was nice just glacing at it as I went to the car. To walk up and down it and listen to the sound of the tiny falls (water going over a stack of rocks).....but I do not miss the blood suckers that hung around the creek in the summer. Glad you are enjoying your hiking, walking, wandering time learning your new space.

Darling friend, thank you for coming to my post. Those lilacs are from last year but in about two months, they will be lining our alleys, a large fence on the main road, all over the city. They are divine.

Your area is quite varied and I'm sure fun to explore! I love the horse photo, Sheri. And your frog in the dish made me smile. It's wonderful to visit with family over Zoom, isn't it? We do the same and it's been a God send since Covid. Have a happy week ahead.

That is so wonderful that you are able to see the kids every couple of weeks. I love your area and that little river.
I don't know what those things are - either - but they do look prickly.
You sound like you are home.

Wow Sheri - your creek looks like the perfect spot to relax and just be still. We have been seeing the geese flying overhead...soon all the ponds nearby will be occupied. In fact sometimes they stay if the winter is mild (this one was not). All your photos are beautiful. Yes the internet makes us not feel so far away from our loved ones. So glad you get to see those sweet faces often. As for the hummingbird - like you I cannot wait to see my first one. Ours usually arrive in May - so it will not be long now. Hugs!

Glad you found the creek. It's so nice to be in nature. Platforms such as Zoom have been so helpful during the pandemic. I would not have wanted to go through it without such technology. Have a wonderful day.

Oh, that creek is lovely...the horses are beautiful. And so glad you can have zoom meetings with your loved ones. Oh, I so love the frog prince!

Dear, dear Sheri, good morning! Thank you so much for visiting my blog! Aren't daffodils SO gorgeous? That bright yellow is what we all need to wake us up from the challenges of winter and to give us hope. Like you, our springs are later than the warmer states but we have had a few warm days here so far and we can see some buds already in action! I think there is a snow storm brewing in the south that just might miss us in Minneapolis....stay safe and warm until this storm passes.

What a beautiful place your mystery creek flows through! So pretty with the mountains as a backdrop. Those fluffy flowers have some serious-looking thorns! Ouch! Nice to have the farm nearby and see the geese and the little hummingbird. It looks like you are enjoying exploring your new home turf. Love your pretty shamrock box. Love that you get to zoom with the family regularly. Sending hugs xo Karen
