Almost done unpacking all the boxes, and I've been lifting, pulling, pushing, you name it, and I pulled a muscle while doing so. It's not a bad one, but had to rest for a day. There are so many interesting things that you come across when you have a move. You find many items and notes and keepsakes that you forgot about.
Remember the book you made for your brother, Jess? It's called The Hungry Eagle, and it is the cutest thing ever. There are pop-outs, and pulls, and she even used cellophane for the windows. Such a clever book, and I can see why I never gave it away.
I cleaned my vanity where I keep all my jewelry, and came across this note from my mother-in-law that I kept safely hidden inside.
Just a dusting of snow one day, but this week we are supposed to get much more! When I went to the grocery store early Sunday morning, it was in the 20's brrrrrr.
I got one package after another in the mail, and I wondered who they were from. Nel bought her mama some lotion and cream and soft pajamas and warm furry slippers. She thought I could use them in this cold weather. I loved them all.....and needed them.
Just put out a couple Valentines so far.
There are two windows on each side of the wall in my living room. They have moulding, and are so pretty. When I look out these windows, it's like looking at a post card. Nature is incredible.
When my brother searched for this home, he wasn't sure if I'd like living in the mountains, as it's definitely a different way of life, but it is just what my heart was calling for, and
Even though I don't live near the granddaughters any more, I will still share an occasional picture, just because they're so sweet. Francesca's other grandma found some Disney princess dresses for her to play dress up. She always finds the cutest things.
Mia's face expression in this picture makes me laugh. I want to kiss those cheeks.
Have a wonderful week.

Sweet memories and adorable pictures of your princesses! Beautiful views at your windows too. Best wishes!
So nice to get gifts in the mail(-: Your granddaughters are so cute. California is going to be hit with a doozy storm this week. I was reading about the bay area. Sounds terrible. I hope you have a cozy fire to keep you warm. It is going to get cold. The weather man said we could have up to 60 mile an hour wind here. Ughhhh)-:
Finding those little things are so much fun. I am not only finding treasures of mine, I still have things of moms I am slowly going through and finding treasures there. She kept everything each grand colored for her so I have been making stacks for each grand. I found a lot that Cory did and I packaged them up and sent them to him. Yes, almost a yr later, I am still unpacking stuff. Unlike you taking one day to rest, I take a lot!! lol....SNOW, even I don't see that much of a dusting here. Its like I tell Cory, it is funny to think about Calif having snow but you never really hear about the Mts. of Calif. Living in the mountains will prob be a lot of fun. I can remember growing up without cell phones and computers...when my granny saw a pic of one of us, it was a actual pic that mom mailed to her. There was no pics sent via a LAND LINE! haha...plus you used to have to pay long distant for calls you made, cell phones have helped a lot there for folks. I remember mom called her mom once a week and we only talked a bit, not long cause it cost so much. Times have changed and even though you are living near the grands you can still watch them grow via todays technology. ENJOY..
Oww so sweet post...do you live further away from your daughters now?...I thought closer or do I misunderstand?...beautiful view...love from me Ria 🍀💕🙏🍀
It's wonderful that you are settling in nicely.
We were going through some old boxes that other day and found some old photographs.. That book is such a wonderful find. A treasure for sure.
Lovely post;-))
I love all the sweet photos, especially the one of Francesca playing dress up. What treasures you've found too! I'm so glad you are enjoying your new home.
Oh! The note from your mother-in-law.
How very, very special.
Lovely post today filled with so much cozy and warmth.

I'm so glad all is going well and you are unpacked and settling. The photos are delightful and I love the things you "found" -- real treasures of a loving life.
I'm glad we're not done seeing pictures of the Little Ones! They are darling!
I hope your muscle is okay now. What a sweet book your daughter wrote I can see why you kept it.
That snow looks a little cold for me!
I love the angel with the rose - and your cup it is good to be home.
Mia looks like she has spunk and Francesca such a little princess.
I bought that Paris tea last week - I LOVE IT. Very unusual.
Stay warm and enjoy.

Prayers for sore muscles!
Your slippers look comfy.
Your mother-in-law's note is so true, Sheri! I'm so glad you have found these treasures as you are unpacking. And a darling handmade book must make you smile. I'm so glad you are happy in your mountain home. The snow is so pretty. We haven't had any this winter. Have a wonderful week!
It's always interesting to find things during a move. That little book is so adorable, of course you kept it. The pictures of your granddaughters are so cute.
The hand made book is so special Sheri. I have one my daughter made when she was a kid, and I will always keep it too! It looks cold, but very beautiful in the mountains. You will build up a wardrobe of cold-weather gear, and enjoy the fresh and clean air. Those little girls are gorgeous! Enjoy your new home.
Good morning dearest Sheri! You are settled. You are HOME. I can't wait to see some photos of the décor and the rest of the house! Thank you for sharing the small, intimate moments of unpacking; it can be an emotional moment as we look at the objects that help shape a house, a life. YOU are having cold weather, like us! Bundle up my friend and OH, thank you for coming to visit my blog.I don't get many visitors these days and of the most faithful are you and another blogger and she wasn't even there. I am seriously considering quitting blogging and just putting all my time into Instagram. Thank you for liking my rose photos!
Hello Friend,
I am so happy for you, to be happy at home is the best. I am looking forward to seeing more of your home and your mountains.
Sending love and prayers,
Carla
So happy to hear how well you are doing since your move. What a treasure that book is that you discovered. Isn't it special how the little things we make mean so much more than anything store bought.
Love the pictures of your granddaughters! So sweet! Such precious little princesses! :)
Blessings! Net
How nice to stop and admire your treasures amidst all the hard work. I'm so excited for you, for this new beginning. You are fearless.

I hope your shoulder feels better--moving and unpacking is hard work.
Your granddaughters are so sweet! I have two granddaughters who are 5 and 8 years old, as well as two older grandsons.
Your new area looks very peaceful and I'm sure you will enjoy the seasons there and all the beautiful nature.
Colorado does get cold at times but I actually like the cold weather more than I do the really hot summer weather so it suits me well to live here.
Mia is so adorable...I know you must miss the girls. But I can understand wanting to live where you live.
When I first saw the picture my mind went to Lorelei...she used to LOVE to dress up, and had several outfits. Her and her cousins would play and play dress up.
Oh, Sheri. I am so happy for you. This is what you've wanted and now you are a mountain girl! God is so good, isn't He? We are in a deep freeze right now but the sun is shining so that makes it more palatable. Thinking of you warmly. Susan
