Nothing going on this week,
which is good in some ways, so here's
a few pics of this and that.
This Polish sausage is so good. It's Farmer John brand, and I make it sometimes with eggs, rice, or even plain.
When I picked all the dry petals from my red rose bush, a new rose sprouted up, and it was so strange, because it came up Pink.
I am from a family of surfers, and look who had her first surfing lesson, little Francesca! Her dad said she had a fun time, but was a little timid at first. She's wearing a wet suit haha.
Did you watch the Christmas in July shows too?
I saw three fireflies on the side of my house one night. They really do light up! And I saw three white butterflies too. I didn't take a picture because I just sat and gazed at them for awhile.
I will leave you with a sweet poem.
"The Violet"
( Jane Taylor)
A modest Violet grew,
Its stock was bent, it hung its head,
As if to hide from view.
And yet it was a lovely flower,
Its colors bright and fair;
It might have graced a rosy bower,
Instead of hiding there.
Yet there it was content to bloom,
In modest tints arrayed;
And there diffused its sweet perfume,
Within the silent shade.
Then let me to the valley go,
This pretty flower to see;
That I may also learn to grow,
In sweet humility.

Cowabunga Dudette! That looks like fun! I bet she had a blast. I have never tried surfing before.
I think the rose will adjust. Check to make sure the rose is blooming on a stem from the main stock. Sometimes a sucker will pop up out of the soil and that will be a different color, although usually red. It is probably just the recent transplant that caused the change. I am sure it will be fine as it adjusts.
M&m's!
😃
We are getting a hurricane here. Well, kimd of. It rained and thundered a bit just now but then stopped. It's off the coast, about two hours from here. We are battening down the hatches. They say tomorrow we will see more of it unless it goes back out to sea.
Hi Sheri! My roommate in jr. college had M&M's every morning for breakfast and that is what your photo brought to mind! That is such a pretty rose. I never learned to swim, so it is amazing to me to see the little ones learning to surf. Such cute photos of Francesca. I have been enjoying the Christmas movies very much. I also like the Hailey Dean Mysteries on Hallmark. I hope you have a pleasant day! xo
Yes, I do watch and love Christmas in July and I know what show that was. lol We love Polish Sausage too.
How in the world did the rose change from red to pink.
And Francesca is learning to surf already - amazing!
Love, sandie
Love the pink rose. What a surprise to see pink, still very pretty. What I want to grow is a yellow rose and will as soon as I fins a rose that will grow in shade.
Love little ones in the water. We try to get the little ones water skiing but
for some reason they settle for tubing!
Teach them when they are young, that way they have little fear which tends to come as you get older.
Pretty rose plant. My roses struggle here in all the heat.
Oh sweet Francesca!
I watched a few movies on Hallmark during their Christmas in July showings. Sometimes it's nice to watch the joy of the holidays especially during a pandemic. Also thank you so much for all of your kind words on my Blogiversary post! You're are truly a kind and dear friend Sheri! Have a wonderful week!
Look at that little surfer go! She will always love the water starting off young like this! I don't watch much TV but we did buy When Calls the Heart DVDs and we've been enjoying those. Enjoy your day! Any candy left to share? heehee! Hugs! (I need sugar free though! lol)
THAT PINK ROSE IS SO PERFECT! I LOVE CHRISTMAS SHOWS IN JULY, TOO. THERE ARE SOME VERY OLD LORETTA YOUNG CHRISTMAS TV SHOWS ON YOU TUBE THAT ARE SO SWEET.
Those M&Ms look great! We've been north and haven't seen TV since July but I probably would have caught one or two if I was home!
Love the poem.
How special to start Francesca early at surfing. How I would have love doing it when I was growing up. I did swim in the ocean, but didn't surf.
Your rose must have reverted back to it's ancestor. Sometimes they graft a new rose on older stock and they do change. I like the pink rose too.
Way to go, Mia! The poem is beautiful. And I so love that rose.
Hi Sheri, what a sweet post. Nothing much is happening here, which makes it hard for me to blog, and I admire how you find beauty all around. I have had a few roses change colour like that - so strange. The pink is very pretty however. Dear little Francesca, going surfing already. How they grow! :) Hope you are well and enjoy your week.
Good morning dearest Sheri!
It's lovely to see you, "Just because."
May your week continue to be happy and filled with a surprise, such as this pink rose! Much love.
Oh Sheri, A baby surfer, how very sweet. I just smile at the sign in your kitchen. I love cute sayings. I think of you whenever I read or hear of fires. Please stay safe. Ted and I are doing ok. We miss our children and grands. Blessings to you and yours, xoxo, love, Susie
"Nothing going on this day which is good in some way"...My Mom says it to me almost everyday in these strange days and I agree with her...Many people lost their lives in Pandemic...I am grateful for my family are well. Your post is always so lovely and especial...But that adorable girl caught my eye and make me smile!Blessings.
Appropriate poem as so many of us are humble Violets these days and happy to be so. But little Francesca! She's a small bud already showing her adventurous personality! God bless her and make the world safe for her and my own two little granddaughters and the other children of the world.
Hi,
I have never surfed. I think Francesca is brave in doing so and your family.
I enjoyed the poem my dear Sheri. Praying for you. Love, Carla

Ah yes fire flies do indeed light quite bright. We get quite a few staring in mid to late June and July and then less in August. Things were quiet until yesterday when the storm blew through. Took out the last tree in the front of the house which fell on my sisters car which had to be towed. Also took out a big tree across the street. Ugh. I am officially over 2020.

Sheri - it looks like a new surfer has begun the family tradition. How wonderful to see the water and enjoy your part of the world. We don't have an ocean close by but when I have been to the Atlantic never tire of watching the waves hit the shore. I see you are still enjoying your coffee in the Peace cup - hope you have found some dear friend and all is well now. Hugs! P.S. Love your quote on the kitchen board. :)!!
❤️
Hi there , what lovely photos I am a guilty one for Christmas shows months before Christmas x
Hi Sheri. I love your pics of this and that and the lovely poem. I'm so sorry I've been gone so long and have missed you. I hope to be back on here more often when I'm able. Big Hugs and Love.
Good for your little surfboard girl! How fun is that!!!
Beautiful rose and I think there is something about grafting that has to do with the transformation of red rose back to pink rose bush?
I hope you have a happy Sunday- xo Diana
I would like to make soup with sausage and onion.
My daughter who is 3 year old saw this page and asked for m and m :)
Beautiful rose and poem! Love seeing your little surfer, that is just wonderful! I must say, I love Christmas shows any time!
Have a great evening-
Nancy 🌼
