Pomona College

Me and Nel wanted to get away for awhile, so we took a drive and visited Pomona College.  Pomona's campus is in the heart of the Claremont colleges, and Nel thinks it has the prettiest grounds of them all.  In some of the scenes of Gilmore Girls where Rory attends Yale College, many of the scenes were really filmed at Pomona College.  I thought about being in the same place as Rory, as some episodes show her walking the halls of the campus that I visited on Sunday.

We first went through the Starbuck's drive through and got a treat for each of us.

There are beautiful old trees that provide shade for the students, and there was a squirrel right above us as we sat at the top of the stairs and enjoyed our coffee.

Time for Mia to stretch her legs and run.  There was a big grass area for her to run around at, and since she's two, she never stops.

She couldn't get enough of the water fountain.  The inside of the fountain is designed with blue tiles, and it was so pretty.

There was an area with brown flowers growing, and they were beautiful and reminded me that Fall is on its way.  Some of the leaves were already changing color.

This is a hill that Nel ran down several times,
making Mia laugh.

There was an outdoor area with a long wooden table and chairs where the teachers and students  can have group discussions.

The sun was coming right through this tree looking lovely.

It was a fun day, and Nel wants to eventually show me all the colleges that make up Claremont College when we go on our drives to one of her favorite towns.  I will always remember these special outings.

I can imagine it was a delight to watch Mia run. I love watching my grandson run. They have so much energy.
I think a very old movie "Mrs. Robinson" was filmed around the colleges there too. How lovely that you were able to have this special outing.

What a fun day. I just recently watched all the episodes of the Gilmore Girls and really enjoyed it. I don't know why I missed it when it was on originally. I guess the kids were really busy at that time and I didn't have time to sit and watch. Glad you got to go.

That was a lovely family outing. Mia is so cute! I can imagine how she liked the sparkling fountain. Those brown flowers are so unusual, but they do very much look like Fall is on the way. We are just going into Spring, which I really enjoy too. Have a good week Sheri.

Sheri, those special outings will remain in your memory but even more so, in Nel's heart and mind. I just woke up a while ago from a lovely dream: I dreamed my mother and that even in the midst of the pandemic, I decided I was going to go out to the shoppes and just walk around under the California sun and enjoy myself. I realized that my mother was alive, therefore I asked her to join me (something we always did when I was a child was to walk to the storefronts in Los Angeles before there were malls) and she got so happy and excited. It was a pleasant dream based on the joy that remains in me after all these years as I go walking alone now, under the bright sun. My own shadow on the sidewalk brings her close to me and the memories of our outings together. Nel will always remember the times she spends with you.

I am in love with that fountain, the blue is so pretty and makes it look like it is the water that is blue. What a wonderful time, brings peace to the spirit.

looks serene and nature filled.
Looks like a real nice campus,
lots of spaces where one can study
and still lots of nooks where
one can be with friends or study groups.
Mia looks so adorable now,
and it is nice of Nel
to show you around...♥♥♥ lots of love to her
for that nice gesture.

And your pics look amazing Sheri.

Thank you for sharing this wonderful post keep your awesome work
I have many hobbies. I love to travel and read. But my favorite hobby is cooking. Let me tell you why! First, I'll tell you a little bit about why I started cooking. Secondly, I'll give you some information about what I like to cook. Third, I will say how I use the Fooddy Blog for cooking.

When I started cooking, I was 10 years old. My mom wants me to be a chef. She has always believed that girls have to make different types of food, because one day they will get married. In my country, it is normal for girls not to cook. I feel lucky because I can cook many dishes. Now that I cook some of the dishes my children and husband love, I become happy and proud of my mother and myself. i'm a fooddy
