Zoom Tea Party

Me and Nel and Jess recently had a Zoom tea party.  It was so good to see the girls and talk with them, and we each had a cup of tea of our choice, and a dessert to go along with it.  Nel and Jess were wearing their stylish hats, and since I didn't have a hat, I wore a pearl head piece.

I was so surprised to see that we were all using our tea cups from our trip on the Queen Mary ship.

Even little Francesca joined in on the fun, wearing her hat that I got her for Easter last year.

I chose an orange spice tea with a yellow cake and chocolate frosting.  Jess chose a Chai tea, and had a plate of crackers, fig newtons, and graham crackers.  Nel had a coffee cake, and pretended to have tea, but really had coffee.  ; )

I first baked a yellow cake that morning,

and then I made the frosting.
I melted Hershey's chocolate bars in butter, adding the powdered sugar and milk.

We talked about many things, and then all of a sudden the screen came up in a space theme.  Nel changed the setting and started dancing around.  We all started laughing, and I think she was trying to tease her Mama.  ; )

It was a delightful Zoom tea party.

I hope you are all doing Ok.

How nice.

What is it about yellow cake and chocolate frosting? That's actually one of my favorites. It reminds me of my childhood.

Great post. Haven't done Zoom yet - don't really have a need for it. Beautiful tea cups!

How cool is that - what a wonderful way to make a great celebration in hard times. I love it. Teacups - something to really drink and eat. And your girls in their hats. That is wonderful.
So if you have time could you send me the recipe or how much of each thing you put in that chocolate frosting?
Stay well. sandie

This is the most beautiful idea!
I enjoyed sharing it with you and your loved ones.
I also enjoyed having a peek at your delicious cake!

What a wonderful tea party! I love the hats! Isn't this just a wonderful idea? I can't wait for another one. I also can't wait until things are normal again so we can all visit each other whenever we want to. Nothing can take the place of an in person visit! Until then though I will take whatever I can get.

I love your family's tea party, Sheri! Complete with tea and coffee and goodies made by each of you made it so very special. The tea cups from the Queen Mary are very lovely and so meaningful. How joyous it all is! We had a Skype session with our children and grandchildren on Easter. It meant the world to me to see them!

Our lives are changing, aren't they beloved?

I too had a Zoom DANCE session with a very special friend on Easter. She is a local friend who loves to dance just like me, so we did Flamenco dance together! IT WAS SO FUN! Then earlier that morning, I had a Zoom session with my best friend from high school. She is still out in California and is teaching herself French. She asked me some questions about things that have been confusing her and it felt good to clarify them.

What a fabulous idea, to have a tea party. These days, almost anything is possible and with that said, may a cure and a vaccine be made ready within the year. We can only go so far without each other.

BIG HUGS TO YOU!

Oh, how fun! And how pretty! I have to admit, I find Zoom awkward and uncomfortable, but since it's the only way I can see my daughter these days, I am using it.

I bet the zoom was fun! Teachers here are using zoom to communicate with their kids and I watched my grandson during one session and was so impressed. These troubling times are bringing out the best of some people. Your cake just got me...looks YUMMY!
