April Happenings

When Palm Sunday comes every year, my kids sometimes make different things using just the palm branches.  This year my son made a rose.  Isn't it creative?

The flowers are all in bloom now,
and we are in full Spring.

This is a Yellow-billed Magpie,
and we see a lot of them around here.

I thought this was the sweetest picture of Francesca and Papa soaking up the sun.

California Poppy.
They grow wild on the edge of the hills, usually in the countryside.  This is our state flower, and we're not supposed to pick them at all.

Saw this little rascal on Easter, and he was just too fast to get a good picture of him.

I went to the Rose Garden,
and the roses are starting to come around.

Some lovely sunrises.

I thought this picture was so precious
of Mia and Dad.

Love these M&M's in pastel colors.

I met my friend, Anne, at church, and every person was given a candle before mass.  The lights were off in the church, and all the candles were lit.  Hundreds of candles, and it was so beautiful.

Such sweet photos of Mia and Francesca! I love your roses. Our neighbor has a red rose bush that has its first bloom and I think of you when I see it. The poppies and other flowers blooming there are just beautiful. I hope you have a lovely week. xo

April is almost GONE....it hit me the other day, moving right on along and way to fast. Aw...those grand girls are just so adorable! Great ROSE...that is so sweet. Never seen a magpie before, neat! Another blogger posted a hillside of poppies the other day. I loved it! We have places on our interstates that have poppies planted on the side but ours is mostly red. I love this color. Now, I don't get to San Diego as often as I would like either! I have done it every other yr since 2011. If my son had it his way, I would be living there. BUT I can't figure out how to afford to live there on my state of TN retirement!!!!! California is a beautiful place, love visiting and I was born there but, TN is home. Going to Calif is like going to another world.

Love all of your beautiful pictures and those sweet babies are growing so fast. I really love your part of the country and doubt if I'll ever be able to see it in person which makes your posts even more cherishing. Much Love, Susie

Sheri, your granddaughters are really growing so quickly! Such darling photos of them. The palm rose is pretty that your son made. I remember when I was young we would make palm flowers on Palm Sunday as well. Your photos are always lovely and I especially like the flowers and the beautiful sunset. Have a happy week.

Every photo is wonderful! I always love seeing the granddaughters. So precious! Your son is talented to make a rose from the palm leaves. I am thankful you all had a lovely Easter.

Everything is looking beautiful in your world, Sheri. The palm rose is really clever and looks lovely; the yellow beak magpie is a real sweetie, not like our Australian magpies which are big and inclined to be ferocious! Those two little girls are just adorable, in every picture. I hope you all had a very happy and Blessed Easter.

A most lovely post, Sheri. I went to the Easter vigil here, too, and it was lovely. We started with the blessing of the fire outside and it was windy and chilly. Then, inside, when all the lights went out, it was truly dark. But the dozens upon dozens of candles that pierced the darkness were so gorgeous. I just loved how the church looked. Hope you had a truly beautiful Easter, my dear Sheri. Hugs. Susan

Oh the tea things in that last picture, so cute.
Beautiful bird, flowers, and grandgirls.
It sounds like a very special Easter.
Those little "rascals" are in my garden every day.
Wishing I could send you some.
Love fields of California poppies too.

All your photos were gorgeous!!! One better than the next and Mia is adorable.

(I don't know if you noticed, but I've been gone for a couple of weeks - my computer crashed and it has taken me forever to get myself going again and I am totally back yet. I may not go back and answer all your letters, but I am here.)

I've seen the yellow-billed magpies in your area, they're quite sassy. We don't have them here though. Aren't the California poppies just beautiful? I love them and of course I have them in my garden as well, along with many other native plants.

OMG, Such a sweet baby to create the sunshine of your days... You’re way ahead of us with the Spring flora... We don’t have magpies, but I enjoy their quirky personalities. I had never seen a real one, except in childhood books... so THANKS for the photos. I’m loving all this baby pictures... What a blessed family life .... HUGS
