Just Because

Nel bought me this lady statue, and I filled it with silk hydrangeas from Michaels.  It looks pretty in my bathroom.  *statue is from Pier 1 Imports.

Jess' mother-in-law's carrot cake.  It's the best cake I've ever had, really.  Nel calls the frosting "little white fluffy clouds of goodness" haha.

Living in a railroad town, I often hear the train whistle blowing in the distance, even from my home, which is a few miles away.

I couldn't resist this doll for Francesca.

This flower has always fascinated me.  Look at the detail on the petals.  Any one know its name?

My brother sent me some veggies from his garden.  I scrambled some eggs with the chili peppers, and it was so good.  My dad would be pleased he has a garden, as he had one also.

Sprinklers

A beautiful sunrise one morning.

The library

The flowers are wilting now.
Fall is a comin'.

Me and best friend met for lunch a couple weeks ago.  It was nice to catch up.

Shadows

We have the most ordinary birds around here, but they are still sweet.

I found a mermaid along the shore of the beach.

Baby roses

Speaking of baby.....
Nel had her baby!
It was a long labor, 22 hours.
We are so happy this little one
is with us now.
Please welcome to the world,
baby Mia.

Sheri, I'm so happy to see baby Mia has arrived. I'm so sorry Nel had such a long labor. Babies come when they want. Hopefully Nel is feeling better and enjoying her bundle of joy!
I love seeing your photo with your friend. It's nice pairing your face with your thoughts. The photos are excellent as always. The sprinkler one and the sunset are lovely! Now that carrot cake has my mouth watering! Thank you for sharing your birds. The second photo of one is quite different and not ordinary at all. I need to look him up! Have a great week and congratulations on another granddaughter. Your little mermaid is precious! ♥

Welcome, little Mia! I'm so happy for your family. She and her cousin will have so much fun, won't they? Two little girls to spoil now, Sheri, you must be in heaven right now. Lots of beauty around you, captured beautifully with your camera. Yum to that carrot cake! And I hear a train coming through about midnight if I'm awake, love hearing the whistle blown. I'm not sure where it is, probably several miles but I love the sound of it.

Best to you and your growing family,
Dewena

Oh so much to comment on here from garden produce, pretty flowers (don't know what that one is), You and your friend, the statue of the girl with book (there is a similar statue like this in Camas, WA - I keep wanting to place a teacup on the book for a picture), gorgeous sunrise, love the sprinklers on roses, and now I want to make a carrot cake. Oh no!!! I am trying not to bake and now I want cake soooo bad.

OHHHHHH! Congratulations, Sheri! Mia is precious and Nel looks HAPPY! What a pleasant walk with you my friend....as I see your photos and read your gentle words, all I can say is that I wish you were with me here, or I with you over there. To take photos and allow the surroundings to stir your heart, it is such a fantastic thing. Your world is beautiful, and even more so because you are in it.

Welcome to the wonderful world, Mia. I've always loved that name. What a beautiful mother and daughter picture. Priceless. Sheri, I love your picture with your best friend ...and that mermaid. teehee Love the blue hydrangea-haired lady, and the detailed petal flower is a favorite of mine too, but I don't know its name. I remember photographing one a while back.
You are a beautiful soul, my huckleberry friend.

I had been afraid to ask about the baby. It seemed like it should have been here but then what do I know. I was never sure. And I was so worried something might be amiss. I'm glad Mia has entered the world, beautiful like her mom. She and her sweet cousin are going to have a lot of fun in the years ahead!

I love every photo here -- the lovely vase, the gorgeous birds, the friendship and love.

Can't believe that you waited to the end of that post to introduce Mia. How adorable...congrats. Mia What? Weight? Love the flowers in the head and I know what you mean about fall coming....feeling it in the air around here. Had a cold front come through last night and it was in the 50s this morn on the deck. Me and the furbabes sat out in my sweater...well, I wore a sweater, they wore their fur. haha..congrats on baby Mia.

Strange! The name Mia seems to be popular everywhere now! My cousins daughter was born 5 weeks ago and her name is also Mia. My dog's name by the way is Mia too. :) Easy to remember for me.:)
